I love Anthropologie, but I'm tired of sales associates assuming you can't afford to shop here. Last week, I was looking for a particular item and the sales associate kept saying go check out the sales rack. Almost as if the summer outfit I was looking for couldn't be found in the main area. When we couldn't find what I was looking for, she goes, you can try SHEIN. Like, what? Super weird interaction. I wouldn't make much of it, but the constant mention of sales section and avoiding looking elsewhere irritated me. I'll drive to Pittsburgh to avoid this type of interaction. read more

I love this particular Anthropologie store. The staff is wonderful and it has the best customer service. Amy- the stylist has a sparkly personality. She helped pick out wonderful items for our daughter's birthday gift. She wrapped it beautifully, too. My husband and I truly value excellent customer service. She definitely is an asset to the store and company as she knows and loves the merchandise. Highly recommend. read more

Anthropologie is one of my favorite places in the world. Can I afford to spend 300 dollars on the dress that I like? 500 dollars on my favorite purse in the store? 600 dollars on the jacket that I adore? SADLY, NO. But it's still my favorite because the decor is inspiring, and there is a sale section. Also, (most of) their home stuff is amazing! And (some is) reasonably priced. My boyfriend gave me a colorful bowl from Anthro last Christmas and it is absolutely my favorite thing in my kitchen. Same thing with candles. Heavenly, and beautiful, too! The reason I am reviewing the store today is because I just learned how amazing their membership card is. It isn't a credit card, just a perks card, and benefits include a 15% discount on your birthday, and select other days of the year (today was one), and free shipping from the website sometimes. FROM THIS STORE YOU HAVE TO TAKE WHAT YOU CAN GET. I want to live there. Instead, I walk around before visiting Trader Joe's, Barnes & Noble, and all the other places I love at Eaton Place. And I get really excited when Anthropologie things make it into my possession. Today's score: a rug for EIGHT DOLLARS and a mirror FOR EIGHTEEN. But I'm still lusting over the 600 dollar jacket and the 500 dollar purse. 5 star rating, 4 for practicality. read more

This store is like, what I would dress like if I were infinitely cooler and richer. The clothes are just so fun. And girly. And, I mean, I'm not even really girly. But this store just makes you want to be flirty and girly and twirly and flowery. And wear dresses. I'm kind of glad that it is so far from my house, or I would be in major trouble. Have fun parking at Eton Collection! /sarcasm. Nice styled clothing, good *looking* housewares and bedding. However, the sheets and most of their things are made in foreign lands with cheap labor (my $400 bed duvet was made in China) with LOW thread count. Threads came off it, it looks great on their website, but please be aware: get similar stuff, locally made for cheaper, on Etsy.com. The quality of their linens is LOW. Quality is LOW for the price, period, for pretty much every item in the store. What I found the *most* offensive about this company in general was the catalog they sent me, which was skinny models posing with the poor locals in India. It was "poverty tourism" at its best. I mean, pricey pairs of shoes, then a photo of the model all gussied up next to a bunch of obviously less fortunate locals. Yes, some of their clothing is beautiful...but is it really worth over $200 for a sweater that isn't cashmere? No. At least the store and site are inspirational, and the employees are kind. read more

Anthropologie has been one of my favorite stores for some years now. I usually shop online, but on occasion I will visit a store location. Today, I experienced very poor customer service at this location. I was not greeted at any point during my 30 minute visit. One of the store associates asked a customer standing right next to me if she could start a fitting room for her and took her items. She did not acknowledge me or come back to do so, although, I was also carrying several items. I understand allowing the customer to look around and being available when help is needed, but this lack of any customer service was ridiculous. It indicated to me that I was not valued as a customer, nor did they want any of my money spent in there today. read more

What is it with Anthropologie and their magical spells they cast on women??! Everything here is so beautiful... from sundresses to doorknobs to anything in between. This loses a star because it is just so very expensive. Once in awhile I find some amazing deals in the bargain room, but if you shop the rest of the store, you won't even get that far.. so go straight for the bargain room! read more

anthropologie, on a whole, makes me excited in all kinds of ways clothing is not supposed to make you excited. yes. i know they are overpriced. i know this. but it doesn't stop me from dropping a paycheck on their overpriced and quirky stylish clothes. i could be clever by saying "dropping a paycheck". but i'm not even being clever. i have dropped an *entire paycheck* on the items at this store. i have no restraint when i walk through their doors. something comes over me and suddenly i don't care that i'm leaving with enough in my bag to rival my rent check- no- *more* than my rent check. i need therapy. really. i do. this location, however, not as big as other locations i've been to. yes, it's big. but their housewares dept isn't as big here. also, it has no shoe section at all. and anthropologie has some amazing shoes. regardless, it is this company's clothes that makes my heart go a-flutter. sadly. because girl knows how redunkulous it is to spend $200 on a skirt. it just is, yo. wooooorrrrd. read more

i agree with kimberly. every time i visit this store, i think about how i could sew this skirt together out of bedsheets. and i could glue together a pair of pants. and i don't really need drawer pulls that look like bits of quartz. but somehow it all works together and their clothes are just so adorable. i don't buy much here, but i love looking just to see what they have now. they do have cute housewares and lovely smelling soap. read more

Sometimes I like the merchandise I see here, sometimes not. But I do check in from time to time since it's on my "usual rounds." But one thing is ALWAYS consistent - I never, ever have any of the sales people offer to help, or even look my way. I thought it was just me -- I'm in my 60s and even though I do buy from Anthro on occasion, maybe the young girls there think I'm not worth waiting on -- but today a friend told me the exact same thing. She said no one even looked her way. This particular friend is a "super shopper," has money to spend on clothes, and frequently does. My daughter worked for Anthro in Chicago for 8 years and when I described my treatment there, she told me she'd fire her staff for that! I know, through her experience, that customer service is paramount to the brand, but the Woodmere store is sorely in need of renewed management. Get with it. read more

Anthropologie is expensive to begin with. You can find clothes that you won't find exact ones elsewhere. So, in terms of clothing and styles, I give them 4 or 5 stars. Their sales are good though. At X-mas and at end of summer are the best deals --still though pricey. Their sales gets 3-4 stars (since even at sales, stuff is expensive there). My pet peeve with this particular store (the Eton one, near Beechwood) is the sales staff. The sales staff get a 2 at the most! They are rude and not very friendly. Actually, they have become that way in the last 2-3 years. I have been shopping at Anthro for several years now. And I shopped in different Anthro stores throughout the US -in MD (the store on Rockville Pike, it was my first discovery when I lived in Washignton, DC, about 13 years ago), the one in Naples, FLA (when I vacation down in Fort Meyers Beach), and of course my neighborhood one in Cleveland (the Eton store-- which is the closest to me, since I live in Stow, OH). I have been shopping at the Eton store for almost 9 years now. And I used to be a happy customer. Staff were super friendly, and helpful. But the new crop of sales associates there (the ones hired in the last 2-3 years) must think they are royalty that have been assigned the menial task of serving undeserving peasants! Not all of them, though. There are some nice ones. But beware of the nasty ones, the ones who have that annoyed, lofty, stuck up look on their face -especially when you ask them to find an item for you or call another store. And, don't expect much from them if you call them. They won't really help you- very rarely will they put an item on hold, and they have a very short-temper and abrupt way of telling you they are busy. That's not the way to do business, especially when the store sells rather pricey material. Maybe their tone and attitude reflects the general Beechwood attitude though. Who knows. I guess uppity stores in uppity places have that I'm-so-much-better-than-you attitude. read more
