I'm giving it 2 stars because the food is so good. Service is awful. Dirty dish ware. Waiter appears at random intervals. We wisely (and sadly) skipped appetizers to move things along. It was a special occasion-- we celebrate Mom's birthday here every year. They sat our large party at a west facing window with a broken shade. Three of us dined with sunglasses. My son's refill drink came with bits of lemon and greenery in it -- obviously someone else's glass because his drink didn't contain those ingredients. We spent nearly $600 for delicious food but a rather exasperating celebration meal. Manager was nowhere to be seen and the hostess offered only lip service. I specifically asked if our waiter was new -- she only replied that "he had been struggling. ". We won't be going back. read more

Really, really disappointed. Spent $140 before tip for appetizer (coconut shrimp over cooked), two steak dinners, dessert (one slice cheesecake and a scoop of ice cream for my grandson), and one kids meal, and one ice tea. Steak not cooked how we ordered. Supposed to be steak with crab and bearnaise. My husbands au gratin potatoes weren't good and he didn't eat them. His steak came with no crab at all so had to go back and mine had literally two nickel size pieces and if there was sauce it was little to none! My salad was put on my plate so the steak juice and whatever sauce ran into my salad. Why would you plate like that? I couldn't eat it. $48 for that and extra money for the salad. Worst part was my husband ordered his steak medium (it was practically raw), and I ordered mine medium well (the inside so rare I couldn't eat it, so I just ate around the outside). Even then I tried not to look at it. My husband said it would ruin our steaks to have them sent back plus we would have been sitting there with now no food to eat, so we just made the best of it. We like to take our grandson to see the boats and usually eat at Bud Bay but said oh it's Valentines weekend let's try Anthony's. Just really unfortunate we had a bad experience and wasted so much money. Enough so that I wrote this. I would suggest you really emphasize how you want your steak to look. Our server was just "okay" and our view was great. Only good thing. I can't see us ever going back or being able to recommend this restaurant to our friends or family. read more

It had been awhile since I've been to this restaurant. Four of us hit it for a late lunch on Saturday since we were at the farmer's market. First thing we notice is how loud the kitchen is. Workers banging pans, blending something in a crazy loud blender, dishes dropping and shattering on the floor, etc. Then we get to the table. It's dirty, covered with crumbs. Keep in mind that it wasn't that busy either. Next we get our water glasses. Two of them are dirty and had to be replaced. At this point we're starving and would like some bread to munch on. Nope...have to pay for that! Okay, fine let's order. Wait, where's our waiter? Not to be seen. The table next to us complains to another waiter that their food is taking way too long (again, it's not even busy) and want to know where their (and our) waiter is. He finally shows up and takes our order. A few minutes later he comes back to tell my friend that they are our of salmon cakes. Really? At 3 PM on a not very busy Saturday? Unreal. Eventually we get our food. It was alright. None of the meal come with a salad (you have to order that separate as well), and I felt my shrimp fettucini portion was too small. Lastly we wanted to order some rhubarb slump. Only one serving left according to the waiter. What? By 3 PM on a Sat?! Needless to say I will never go back there again. The entire experience was loud, slow, and overpriced...especially if you want to including some dining stables like bread and a salad. I had been to Anthony's a few years before and had a pleasant experience. This was a disaster. YMMV. read more

Had a bit of a mishap with a shrimp cockatail on my purse the last time my 88 year old father and I went to dinner at Anthony's. We weren't compensated or officially apologized to. It was a very busy night and I let it go because it was the first time my Dad and I had been there since my Mom had passed in March. We both deserved a night without drama. BUT...here's the GOOD part! I called the manager after I dropped my Dad off. Becca the manager was very understanding and she apologized profusely. She said she had not been informed of this, otherwise it would have gone differently. She sent us a certificate for dinner for two so we could come to dinner there again. We used the certificate last night. The waitstaff informed us that the certificate included two appetizers, salads, entres and even dessert. I brought my sister with us this time and what an amazing meal we shared!! The meal was MAGICAL. The food was excellent and our waitstaff was awesome! Her name is Bonita and she was so good to us, but especially good to my Dad. She made him feel extra special and I am telling you he needs that! Thanks go out to Anthony's and their staff for an sincerely MAGICAL meal. read more

Ok, so my wife is in town for a conference at the capitol, we are hungry as hell, and want some food that we know will be great, with great service. Well this was not the place, not even close to a mediocre experience. Lets start. Double Bloody Mary's are more water, and a dash of tomato juice than anything else, took 25 minutes to get them. Tasted like garbage. Waitress was uneducated in wines, took her advise based on a little cue card she had, said it was crisp, fruity, etc. For 65 a bottle I was disappointed, tasted like my grandmothers flowery perfume. Took a half hour to get the next bottle after the horrible taste test. Apptizers came as we wanted a variety. Oysters were very small, and watery for deep fried, and bland. The sashimi plate was awesome, and was the only thing that went right. Ordered a half of a Garlic Dungeness Crap, I mean crab, no flavor for all the sticky butter, oil, and garlic. We tried some ginger beef tenderloin bits or something, and this is where I really became disappointed in the manager and the chef. I had about two bites of this and on the second bite, guess what, deep fried hair. Pulled it out of my mouth, and put on plate, you could actually see that it was deep fried with the yoshida's on it. Sad, not the only hair, as the manager came up to the table I knew this was going to be disappointing, she dressed like a scrub from a hole in the wall diner. She came to the table, said oh maybe its a piece of the ginger. I took the hair and pulled on it and it was not a fiber from the ginger. It was clearly a hair. I then looked at the appetizer plate and pulled out another hair. Yummy. The manager says oh, I will take that away, and we wont charge you for it. I was thinking wtf. You serv me an effin hair, make an hour long meal and drinks drag out to 2 hours plus, and your not going to charge me for the 2 bites I took from the appetizer with hair? So paid my $150 bill, and wont ever come back. Anthony's you served me your last meal, and the same for many of our friends. Your best bet would have been to take $25 off the bill or something, and I do mean something, but you chose to do nothing. GOODBYE read more

My parents, my kids and I had a great dinner at Anthony's. We were seated 20 minutes late, which was frustrating, but we had a good table, they comped us an appetizer, and the manager came over to apologize, so I felt that they made it right. The app (crab & artichoke dip) was delicious. Dinner was great. Waiter was knowledgeable and asked if we wanted the kids' meals brought out first--I didn't, but appreciate that level of attentiveness. Overall a very nice meal on a busy night during the holidays. read more

Eight of us had breakfast here for a birthday bash. Crepes were skimpy and not very good, Fisherman's potatoes tasted like they had been sitting for a couple of hours, scrambled eggs were plain and uninteresting. And, of course, each plate cost $16.95 or more. They did serve a blueberry coffee cake and fresh fruit for everyone. But I think we'll go to Mercato's next time. Anthony's really needs to stop taking Olympia for granted and up their game. read more

i was here a week ago, and although the food was good, my husband and i will not be back. we were having a fine meal, we had been here before and came here for a reason; decent seafood, nice atmosphere, peaceful pleasant evening. but not this time. as we're eating in the bar, we hear a couple of the kitchen staff laughing while one of them is bragging about sleeping with some guy's wife. regardless of morals, that is just ridiculous. i didn't know how to put that into a review, but the consistent experience we've had here before just doesn't matter when you spend your money to hear things like that. again, meal was fine, service was thorough as always, but the unprofessional kitchen will cross homeport off our list. read more

We only went to the bar. The mixed drink was terribly made. The one redeeming factor was that the clams were good.

Had a wonderful dinner the other night here with my wife and some friends. Being vegan we asked our waitress Sydney if there was anything vegan dishes that the kitchen could make as there was no options on the menu. She was very helpful and gave us a few options and ended up having a veggie creamy pasta that was delicious! We will definitely be back now that we know there are some vegan options they can cook up for us. read more

Used to really love this restaurant but the last 4 times I went...the service was extremely slow, the waitress was unfriendly, and the quality and value were really poor. I don't know how they can be owned by the same company as Hearthfire???? Will probably not return. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our travels back down the Pacific Northwest. The restaurant has great atmosphere, and the large windows looking out on the water make for a great view. The food was good, but the service was, quite frankly, awful. She failed to bring an item that was ordered (although it was put on the bill), she gave us the wrong bill the first time, and trying to track her down proved to be somewhat of a chore. Although she apologized for the mix-up and offered to give us the bread order for free in a doggy bag, it was at that point just too much hassle to deal with. And, to be clear, this was lunch on a Friday, and the restaurant really wasn't that full, so there's not even the excuse of running around crazy. I am usually a pretty patient guy, as long as I can see some degree of effort...but it just wasn't there. read more

Sad to say this Olympia landmark appears to have completely lost its luster. We came early on a Tuesday afternoon wishing to sit on the patio. We stood in the empty restaurant for 5 minutes while various waitstaff walked by us before one finally, acting surprised to see us, asked us for our name with a frown. We were seated outside and waited another 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The waitress was very kind. After reviewing their menu (not changed in as long as I can remember), we settled on our choices. 30 minutes later we received our Shrimp Chop Salad and Ahi nachos. The salad at 19.95$ I expected to be colorful with plenty of shrimp and mango as the menu described. What came out was a plate covered with romaine, mango and shrimp hidden on the side. A few cherry tomatoes and a small cup of bacon rounded it out. I actually had to peer down at my spouses salad searching for more shrimp. We made mention of the scarcity of shrimp to which the waitress replied "it's 2 ounces". Her quick answer of the exact weight of shrimp tells me my reaction was not uncommon. The mango was equally scarce and so the whole salad was very disappointing overall. The waitress on our complaint did retrieve another 2 ounces of shrimp at no charge. The ahi nachos were tasty but my son's salmon cakes were dry, with inedible pilaf. Throughout the meal the server did not clear off plates, the table became more and more crowded until skipping my son's burnt cream that came with his dinner, we asked for our check. With so many places to choose from that are not 20-35$ per entree, it's safe to say with this utter lack of quality on so many levels, we will not go back to Anthony's again. read more

An expected meal delight from prior experiences, but a real failure at the last visit. The fried oysters were gritty, the green beans were well under cooked and the blue cheese salad dressing was surprisingly tasteless with no real appearance of cheese. We were seated at a table with broken shade there were many tables empty? We were very uncomfortable. no one asked if we would like to move. Probably won't go back this Anthony's has gone down hill. read more

To start off positive, they have a very nice, clean restaurant. Beautiful view of the harbor. Nice selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. We had no problems with service, as others did, but we were there at 4:30, and the place was only 1/4 full. I don't care for sourdough bread, but my wife does, and she loved it. The clam chowder for a starter was run of the mill. Nothing spectacular. I had a steak with a tomato salad, and my wife had the linguine with clams. I have to agree with many other reviewers in that the food is just overpriced for the quality and amount on the plate. While we both agreed the food was OK, it just seems to miss that extra punch you'd expect for their prices. I was excited to have garden fresh tomatoes, but sadly, what looked like slices of heirlooms, were bland, mealy, and I had the inner green core on one slice. Also, when you sear a 7 oz. steak, it mostly tastes burned. We agreed it would not be worth a return trip. read more

Four of us recently went to dinner on a Friday early evening. We were there about 5 pm. Food was ok but the service was the worst ever at Anthony's and maybe the worst I have ever seen. Our dinner check was nearly $200 and we couldn't even get our coffee refreshed. We waited entirely too long between courses. And, to top it off, I couldn't get a Hurricane from the bar. They didn't know how to make it. read more

We made a reservation for my mother's 80th birthday surprise party. She thought she was going to dinner with my two brothers, but we had about 20 people there, including several from out of town, including one of her most recent great-grandchildren, who came down with his daddy from Alaska, and my sister from Maine. The restaurant was very busy, and there were concerns that our tables would not be ready by the time my mother arrived. The manager bribed some diners with free appetizers to change tables to let us be seated on time. Everything went off without a hitch, my mother was really surprised, the food was amazing, the service superb, and everything came together to give my mother an experience she will never forget! You. All. Rock. read more

I was extremely underwhelmed with the serving/portion size vs. the price paid for my meal. I ordered the $7.95 caesar salad which came on a tiny plate with roughly $1.75 worth of salad, if that. The salad was good but definitely not $7.95 good nor worth the asking price at all. Next up I had the bar burger, a pretty basic burger for a reasonable happy hour price of $7.50, if I recall correctly. The burger was relatively flavorless with a near paper thin beef patty on a massive bun to make to burger appear more substantial in size. This meal included fries and you bet I counted them..how could I not...I received 5 full length French fries and 4 crumbs of French fries, that was it. For me, Anthony's is definitely not worth a second visit, which is a shame because the waterfront location, scenery, and atmosphere are all fantastic. But what they charge for the minuscule amount of food is absolutely laughable. That said, I've been to Anthony's Hearthfire Grill, their sister restaurant, right down the road and it's 110% better food, more varied menu options, far better price vs. portion size and also a beautiful waterfront location. read more

Very nice, good service. A little too much emphasis on the huckleberry, but it is the local berry.

We had guests in from China. We went for good seafood. On a scale of 1-10 it receives a 3. Overpriced, over cooked. Pricing should be equivalent to cafe food. Your paying for the view, however, for free you could just walk the boardwalk. Bud at Cafe (on the same part of the boardwalk) is FAR better in view--pricing--and meal. The only redeeming quality is that we had a great server. read more

I took my husband here for his birthday. Wow! Our server Eric was awesome, knowledgeable and funny. He made sure we were able to take our time, educated us on the menu and helped with our choices. The fresh oysters were amazing and the calamari on point! We had the New York which compared to cutting through butter, so tender and delicious, I had the Ahi tuna entree and selected the seasonal king crab as well...oh mah God!!! The best Ahi in town for sure, they serve it with a ginger glaze and pineapple compote. The crab was so juicy and meaty. We had a Manhattan and a bottle of the Gewurtztraminer, paired perfectly with our food. We ended the night with their key lime pie, the best I have had, nice and light perfect amount of tart and not too sweet. The chefs execution and timing of the meal was perfect, I just can't get over my experience so I had to share. I made reservations and told them it was his birthday, they had a cute little card at the table. It was just awesome. Shrimp BLT was horrible(a few tiny pink salad shrimp) and they actually forgot the bacon, service and outside deck ambiance was great.

Very disappointing happy hour experience at Anthony's Homeport in Olympia this afternoon. We are long-time customers and have for the past few years weathered price increases and reduced quality. Today however was a deal breaker...The previously juicy bar burger on a toasted bun with generous quantity of crispy fries (previously $5.00, now $7.00) was dry and fries cold and scanty. The "crispy" calamari Caesar salads (previously $6.00, now $8.00) were "ok". Unfortunately the calamari was cool and not crispy. I understand the need to increase prices, but the quality if good, should at a minimum remain consistent. We traditionally gift each other Anthony's Gift Cards in the amount of $300-$500 each Christmas for use throughout the year. If after speaking with Homeport management tomorrow I am not assured of improvement. This will not continue. Shape up, Anthony's Homeport! read more
