The driver showed up at 12:15 to pick me up. I was naked just getting out of the shower. I went to the door with a towel around me and there stood the driver who was told to pick me up at 12:15. She seemed upset like I didn't know my pickup time was 12: 15. She called her boss and was told to leave and come back at 1:15. I was very upset and tried to proceed with my dressing. It was 1:00pm and I got up to go brush my teeth and pushed my walker outside of the kitchen because I had placed a 4 step ladder in the doorway and my right foot got caught in the leg of the ladder and I fell forward to the floor on top of my twisted right leg and ended up on the floor wondering how I was going to get up. Just then the driver was at the door and I had to slide my way to the door and pull myself up on my walker. Well, I told her to help me call the doctor to cancel my appt. and she got on the phone with her boss and the boss told her to call 911. I did not tell the boss or the driver that I wanted the assistance of 911 but they came anyway and suggested of course that they take me to the hospital. I told them I did not call them and that they should send the bill to Senior Helpers. I am 80 years of age of sound mind and I have NEVER broken a bone in my life. I had to endure their visit and the driver was OUTSIDE talking to her boss. She did not even help me call my doctor to cancel my appt. She did hand me my glasses so that I could call my doctor and cancel. I asked her to stay and help me with other things and she said she did not feel comfortable and her boss told her to leave.

The team that helps with PT OT is what really makes a difference in your healing. The nursing team such as Anastasia, Betty Jane, Anderson, Ongeshi, and Raquel were top notch. The nursing team is very skilled and well beyond adequate. They work extremely hard to have us patients here feel cared for and heard. The CNAs who made my daily needs feel important such as Jessica, Kaya, Kalu, Gilbert, and Angela are amazing. Sean the main person over activities for the week helps to make every day of the week feel like there's some fun event that Will be going on. He helps bring a young experience to the nursing home to make it to where he said himself. If he had to send a loved one here he don't wanna make sure they're having a great time. Then of course, admissions team were amazing and very helpful with any need I had. Rich, the driver who took me to all my appointments, was very kind and helped make even the earliest mornings feel great.

The cancer kicked off an immune response that caused her to suffer from memory Loss Mental Confusion and Seizures that nearly killed her. My Mother was recovering from seizures caused by a small cell lung cancer and was moved from Sacred Heart Hospital to Spokane Falls to recover. When my Mother was checked into Spokane Falls she had with her several personal belongings including a book shelve her portable stereo and her wallet with her debit card and ID among other items. She also had a Fall Risk condition which brings me to the first problem with Spokane Falls, their staff do not understand what "Fall Risk" means as my mother was admited with a Fall Risk Classification, yet staff consistently let her get out of Bed and move around on her own. She fell and got stuck between a toilet and the wall in her bathroom causing a trip by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital. While at Holy Family they had noticed my Mother had several fall related head injuries. She also received chemo treatment while there. After Treatment, Holy Family Transferred her back to Spokane Falls. However upon arriving back at Holy Family my Mother started having seizure again. Spokane Falls sent her back to Holy Family who eventually transferred her back to the ICU at Sacred Heart. My mothers condition declined to the point that she was removed from Life support and put into palliative care. My sister and I went to recover my Mothers personal belongings specifically her wallet with ID and Debit Card as she was dying. Unfortunately, this brings me to the second major problem with Spokane Falls, they lost all of my mothers belongings. They tried to say she took them with her but there are 2 problems with that story. First my mother was never in the condition to do so, Secondly she had way to many belongings to take on an ambulance .... There was no way they are going to let you load a book shelf onto an Ambulance. We checked with Holy Family, Sacred Heart and AMR ambulance service and none of them knew anything about my mothers belongings. AMR outright denied that the took on any of her items. We even visited the hospitals. We checked my mothers latest banks statement. She should not have a single transaction on it this year (She has been hospitalized or in a care facility with limited mental capacity since December 2024. Her latest statement has some large transactions on it. Currently we do not know if these are auto payments or manual withdraws. When this is over my sister an I will be getting the Spokane County District attorneys office, law enforcement, Washington state department of human services, and federal regulators involved. So in short if you truly love your loved one needing care DO NOT SEND THEM or LET THEM GET SENT TO Spokane Falls. Your love one will not receive adequate humane care and their belongs will more than likely get stolen or come up missing.

Their dedication to making him comfortable is a true testament to their team. Heidi was phenomenal in explaining what I should expect, providing me with helpful information and brochures to guide me through the process. She assured me that Hospice of Spokane was available 24/7 for any questions or assistance I might need. The medical equipment supplier was prompt and efficient, ensuring my father had everything he needed to be comfortable at home. It was a blessing to see how quickly and smoothly everything came together. This support helped me prepare for what I knew was inevitable. The nursing staff, Crickett and Mary, were invaluable. Their care, compassion, and thorough explanations on how to manage my father's needs exceeded my expectations. I never had to worry about reaching out for help--everything I needed was delivered immediately, and the support was truly outstanding, as well as many others I never met behind the scenes. When my father passed, Hospice of Spokane handled the arrangements with the funeral home, easing the burden during this difficult time. Their care made an incredibly tough moment just a little easier to bear.

I have been thinking about this review for almost three months as the investigation in to me from…read moreAdult Protective Services slowly made it's way to the finish line with a complete exoneration to the accusations from Sunshine Home Health. These people came in to my home for less than a week and reported me to APS for "Neglecting" my dad. I will point out it was news to my dad that he had been neglected. My dad had just moved in to my house, I was NOT his caregiver and he was in full control of his life with my assistance. I was never once part of a care meeting, therapy session or anything. My dad was in full control of his faculties and asked me to do lots of things, which I did. I work a full time job and was NOT my dad's caregiver at the time. He was in fine shape and again, if he needed anything from me he would ask, and ask he did. We fully outfitted his unit in my lower level with a walk in shower, grab bars, toilet riser, ramps etc. I had taken care of my mom who died in Feb from advanced dementia as her only caregiver in that same lower level unit. That was literally why I bought this house. I had so many home health companies come and help and I never once heard anything but, "you take good care of your mother". She went on Hospice and was bed ridden for almost 7 months while I took care of her with the help of Spokane Hospice. They were fantastic and I never saw a single note that didn't say the I took great care of my poor mom. Having these people make such awful allegations has done so much harm to my mental health and family as I continue to take care of my dad who is in much worse shape after a series of terrible nursing homes. Sunshine wastes valuable resources from APS with these attacks. There are other reviews that say the same thing. The CEO of Sunshine did a letter to the editor in the Spokesman talking about the hero caregivers who take care of their family. What a joke. I personally feel like this report had more to do with my pride flag than anything else. In short, DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE INSIDE YOUR HOME!!!! There are so many other really good options but this is not one of them.

False reports were made to Police and APS; who found no violations or negligence. In fact, a certain manager, shower aide, and a social worker were characterized as vindictive and attention seeking by APS. Regulations were misquoted, as a matter of law, and generally caused completely unnecessary drama for our family. I can't imagine how much worse it would be for people with loved ones in assisted living. I highly urge people to keep looking for other resources.

My parents decided to…read morerelocate here in 2019 based on the continuation of care and the caring staff. My parents moved into Independent Living in the main building. They then progressed into Assisted Living. In early 2025 my mom was in Skilled Nursing where she eventually passed away. While she was there she had an incident where she rolled out of the bed onto the floor and nobody noticed! It was only when my brother came to visit, he found her! And they wouldn't put rails on the bed to prevent it in the future. In the summer of 2025 they abruptly shut their skilled nursing section, while people were living there! ( That area wasn't profitable enough ). With only a 60 day notice to find other living arrangements! Then earlier this year they sent an email to my brother and myself stating that my 87.5 year old father's needs were too great for them and they were asking him to leave! After his spouse of 64 years has passed away and he is a Type 1 diabetic. WOW! So we moved him over to Rockwood Retirement. They have been LOVELY and professional. Go there! Touchmark's approach is about the bottom line and "no I don't think we can do that". While Rockwood has a caring atmosphere where the staff's approach is personal to the resident and the family and "how can we make your dad feel at home and cared for". Rockwood also has a a minutes response time to emails or vm's while Touchmark has days or no response. I think the choice is clear!
