Well that is all it took. The food is excellent. The service very good and so many choices. I have to laugh because he had never had a beignet. Now he loves they. This is the BEST breakfast I have had in a while. The restautant was very neat and clean. We were seated quickly, The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The Apple juice is "real" apple juice, none of that from concentrate stuff, my kids loved that! The coconut milk that I used as a dairy free creamer option was delicious. Even the water was good. It didn't have that "Florida water" taste. The food was DELICIOUS. My kids had the waffle sampler which was the perfect portion and combo of protein and sweetness. The waffle was thick and had a great flavor, the bacon was thick and not too fatty, and the turkey sausage was the best that I have ever tasted. It was a seasoned, real, patted out, sausage patty and not one of those once frozen links like you get at other restaurants. It was delicious. My 3 year old gobbled it up which is a huge deal. That never happens, y'all. I got the Monterey Omelet and it was amazing. It was so fresh, not too greasy, wonderful flavor and just the right amount of spice. The salsa was yummy and the fruit served on the side was fresh and a perfect compliment to the dish. The price was perfect for the quality and amount of food. I highly recommend this place. This area has plenty of breakfast/brunch type restaurants so I was shocked to see the wait on an early Sunday morning was about 30-45 minutes. Luckily you can get your name on the waitlist ahead of time by calling in or on the Yelp app. The waiting area was crowded and it seemed like there were empty tables throughout but just not seated. After waiting for about 10 minutes after arriving our table was ready and the server was there within minutes to take drink and food orders. I ended up having the scrambler with spinach and it came with an English muffin that I substituted a biscuit for. The scrambler was a decent size and good mix of ingredients. The iced coffee I ordered was served up in a mason jar but was chock full of ice so after like four sips it was finished. Overall not a bad option for breakfast, but there are so many options in the area that I wonder why it's always packed like its the only place around. read more

Quite easily one of my favorite places for brunch on South Tampa. So why the four stars? Well, unfortunately I can't give 4.5 stars. The food is really good but pricey. *Parking* is a challenge because the restaurant shared parking with at least six other businesses plus Crunch fitness is located behind it and it's a substantial sized gym. Be prepared to spend time poaching a spot. Spaces are mostly compact size too. You'll be able to fit a larger vehicle but it'll be a tight fit. The *Inside* is clean and each time I've been sat dinnerware is spotless, tables aren't sticky, and Never waited longer than ten minutes to sit. The *Food* is tasty and you get a decent portion but like I mentioned before, you'll for it (literally). The *Service* is phenomenal and really is major reason why I keep going back besides the food quality. The staff is courteous, orders are correct and prompt, and they're always stopping by to check and ensure everything is going well. Visited today for breakfast and everything was fresh and delicious. The fruit side was above average with mango, blackberries, strawberries . I had the Mardi Gras omelet and a side of the city grits. The grits were worth the upcharge and the omelet was large enough that I took half home. I would definitely eat here again. Went at an off time so there was no lines and no waiting but I heard it gets pretty crowded on The Weeknd's. Next time I will have to try the mimosas, they looked pretty good going by. read more

I just wanna start this off by saying I brought my 90 pound golden retriever to brunch and they were very accommodating the server even brought him out a dog bowl with water I ordered the crab benny with potato's instead of grits and it was top 3 for me. It wasn't over cooked it was perfection. My friend ordered the traditional breakfast platter and added a he was hungry. And he's a picky eater and he asked to come back next time. The service was great we came about 11:15 called ahead because of the dog the girl who answers the phone was friendly and warm. We walked right in and got a seat. My mother-in-law and I went for brunch and really enjoyed the meals we had. She got the Shrimp and Grits and really liked it although it was a bit spicy for her liking. I enjoyed the Lobster and Brie Omelet which was really good. I also had a side crab cake which was a bit too mustardy for me. The side of maple and apple chiicken sausage I had was ok. I prefer the chicken apple sausages at First Watch. The coffee was great. The only issue there was that the refill was cold initially but the manager came by and gave us a fresh refill so that was nice. Unremarkable -- Not worth the visit, in my opinion. My friend and I went there for Sunday brunch. I ordered a basic breakfast of eggs, grits and their homemade sausage. The plate itself had no presentation (I may have been watching too many food/chef TV shows, but still, it should have at least looked appetizing!). The eggs were on the dry side. If you can't cook an egg, you probably shouldn't be cooking. The homemade sausage was dry and overcooked. The grits were the only thing they managed to get right as far as my food. I am Southern, so at least they knew how to cook grits. (I ordered regular grits; not the city grits they offered.) As for the drinks -- I ordered a latte with a double shot of espresso. Yet after I drank it, I did not feel the usual caffeine rush. It didn't even taste like real espresso. I asked our waitress what type of espresso they use. She brought me a ***packet*** of ground coffee. Not fresh roasted beans, just a packet. Now, in a pinch I have had Keurig before and Nespresso, but this wasn't even as passable as either one of those. I prefer fresh, whole ground, roasted espresso beans myself, so if you are going to tell me that you serve espresso, I am going to assume it is the real thing. My mistake. It wasn't. My mimosa lacked any semblance of real orange juice pulp. So again, probably made from a mix, not anything freshly squeezed. It seemed as bland and unremarkable as the espresso had. My friend had a Bloody Mary that had something real in it -- a giant piece of fennel that was so huge it was laughable. If you want to serve Bloody Marys with fennel, maybe make the fennel something the customer can keep in the drink while sipping (it was impossible as it was too big). His Bloody Mary was tasty, however, so that was a plus. Other annoyances for me were the fairly inattentive wait staff; the selection of ubiquitous rock music for brunch (really? that is the best you can do? -- it made me want to get out of there as soon as possible, and I like rock music ... but not for brunch, and not the most boring, bland rock music you can find anywhere on the planet); the fact that one of the wait staff called me a "young lady" on our way out of the restaurant (I have grey hair; I considered it an insult and condescending and ageist, as I am NOT a "young lady" and no, that was not flattering nor welcomed by me); and the fact that the paper towel dispensers in the restroom did not work properly--if I have to wave my hand in front of the device multiple times and it still does not dispense a piece of paper for drying my hands, it probably needs to be checked. Wow, just wow! What a great addition to the South Tampa area! I have to first say a big thanks for being open right after the hurricane when a lot of the area had no power and they were able to feed hungry people. They even did this being short-staffed, since some people were still evacuated. We really appreciated this! Everything on the menu sounded delicious which makes it hard to decide. We tried the Hey Lucy omelette, the pancakes, and classic biscuit & gravy. The beignets to start off was a nice little sweet treat. The omelette included avocado, breakfast chorizo, onions, green chilies with cheddar jack. It also comes with sour cream and salsa. The taste was delicious. I had the city grits as the side. Seriously, this is a must try if you like grits. The pancake was just right according to my niece. I totally agree. This is my second time here. We love this food!!! We got the lobster omelette and chicken and waffles and it was good. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I waited another ten to fifteen minutes (so I thought) before anyone came back to the bar to take my order. I placed the two orders and waited. When I got back to the car my friend said what took so long. I said I had to wait 10 minutes before someone told me where to place the order and another ten minutes before anyone took my order. Me and the wife come here at least a few times a month, usually on a Saturday or Sunday. There's almost always a line, so definitely go to their website and get on the waitlist before you head over.
