I have never felt so humiliated in my life!! I am a regular customer at Another Broken Egg, and have never had any issues until today, April 29, 2023. Myself and two other friends were asked to leave by the general manager, Linda Pratt, because they needed our table. We arrived at 10:42am, paid for our ticket at 12:03pm and were asked to leave at 12:20pm. We were not rowdy, and we hadn't even finished our mimosas. This restaurant has no dining time limits posted, and we had not even been there for 2-hours. Actually, it took at least 15-20 minutes to get served. We spoke with her again, and she was still very rude, by saying "Ok, but I need this table." I'm never one to play the race card, but I didn't see her ask anyone else to leave, so unfortunately I felt profiled. ABE, Pearland location, remains a consistent breakfast spot. Their brunch cocktails are not lacking in spirits and their food always taste the same. The reason I didn't give it a 5 stars is because when my omelette arrived, the cheese had already set, which means it had been sitting for a while. The place was pack and maybe our waiter had more tables than normal. It was still tasty but of course different because melted cheese provides an entirely different eating experience than when it just sits there with no interaction with the other ingredients. Almost an hour after I had originally placed the request. Ok here is where I got slightly more than a little perturbed. You telling me I had to wait that long for only mediocre food?? Granted, our server Jenny, was frickin amazing, ok! Perky AF, knowing full well she was tired AF after working since 6am that day. Ok! Kudos to you, girl! But the food was bland. Tasteless. The best thing was the biscuit beignets, which yes, you should try, but reminded me of Dunkin Donuts donut holes. I had asked for not too much pepper jack cheese on my spinach and eggs, and it came with way too much damn pepper jack cheese. The grits were average. Nothing knocked my socks off. Love, love, love. I can't say enough good things about This spot. I found them because I went to the original Broken Egg in Mandeville Louisiana as a kid. Although technically, I t's no longer affiliated with the original, you'd never be able to tell. The service, the food, and the drinks are excellent every time I go. A wonderful brunch spot for dates, families, or solo. This one in particular has had excellent service every time. The bartenders were experts, managing the bar top, to go orders coming in by phone and in person, drinks for those waiting on tables, to go on the phone, and drinks for the whole place without missing a beat. I am a big fan of this chain and this location was the best I've had to date. They close a bit earlier than we expected so we arrived about 20 min or so before closing. Nevertheless, they were very friendly, patient and accommodating. Everything we had from the drinks to the beignets to the main course was fantastic. My drink had nutella, bacon, cold brew coffee and spirits....topped with whipped cream and a fluffy beignet...yum!!!! My favorite part of the meal were the crabcakes and fried green tomatoes topped with cheese and an excellent remoulade. They were perfectly executed...all fresh and crispy. My sister had some deliciousness going on at her side of the table as well with a delicious creole seafood omelete and some tasty cheese grits. Overall, five stars for the food and service. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. with a side of bacon and a bowl of grits. .5 STARS meal. My crab cake Benedict was creamy, rich and so good. There was crab cake in every bite. Definitely the go to brunch spot for Pearland because all of the pearlanders were here :-) Wait time: joined the waitlist on yelp (ok did that)...then I arrive 3rd in line walking from the car, make it to the door and then I'm 5th in line *shrugs*. I had to wait another 15 minutes but I guess this wait time is nothing in comparison to not joining the wait list at all. Drinks: this is crucial for Sunday funday. Most ALL of the drinks have champagne, coffee based, or it's a Bloody Mary | only drink that's without champagne is a sangria. They do have regular liquor but none are integrated in signature cocktails on the menu. I wish they had way more drink options with just spirits + liquors. The sangria was ok but had Malibu in it which tasted like college bad decision jungle juice vs sangria lol. Food: the food was pretty good. I got the eggs Benedict.
