Came here on a Sunday in November and didn't have to wait for a table. We started with some Breakfast cocktails, the Abe famous infused Mary and the spiked vanilla cold brew. Both were pretty good and affordable. I the spiked cold brew was pretty sweet and could have used more coffee. Since this was our first visit, we got a free order of beignets! They were very dense and filling. We shared the seasonal brisket Benedict, which was great. We also shared the fried chicken biscuit sandwich, not too bad but not the best gravy I've had. This is still the premier breakfast spot in Clearwater Beach. I have never been disappointed with the food and their coffee is the best. However, I am deducting one star because none of the staff were wearing masks despite the worst outbreak of the most contagious form of Covid 19 that we have experienced so far. I know that our worthless governor and legislature have worked overtime spreading misinformation about this disease and the necessity to be vaccinated and wear masks, but that does not excuse businesses for following that misguided advice. Despite what many restaurants are telling me, there is NOTHING in the law that stops businesses from requiring proof of vaccination and wearing masks. If nothing else, these measures protect their staff as well as customers. read more

First, let me say that the ONLY reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because I was not fond of the pancake. And if you're following my reviews, then you know how much I love pancakes. Fluffy? Yes. Light? Yes. But there's more to pancakes than just "light & fluffy". The temperature of the pancake wasn't great. A little lukewarm/ room temperature-ish. The flavor was okay. The texture was not to my liking. I tend to like pancakes that slice/cut easily without the whole pancake shifting and sliding around on the plate. I'd say it was a little too spongy. I'm really needing to consult a chef these days, so that I can more accurately describe the texture of pancakes. I suppose you can say, that I'd prefer ones that are slightly firmer or a little more dense. I'll work on that. Anywho, everything else? 5 stars! Service? Bangin'. Wait line? There was none. City Grits? So awesome that I wish I could have them again today. The New Orleans omelet? To die for. It's perfect for visitors who want seafood AND breakfast. Sausage? Delish. Bloody Mary? Yum!! I would give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the long wait to be seated at a table. It was frustrating seeing the open tables but plates being left there and no one was quick at cleaning them off even though there were a lot of parties waiting to be seated. The hostess told us that it would be a 15-20 minute wait and ended up being more towards half an hour. I got a seasonal special item, the breakfast skillet! You can choose how you want your egg and I chose poached, which was definitely the right choice. The egg yolk was perfectly runny and the potatoes just soaked it up, delicious! I added their house pepper sauce and it pairs perfectly with savory breakfast foods. It also comes with a choice of a pancake or biscuits and gravy, I got the biscuits and they were pretty good, but slightly cold unfortunately. My boyfriend ordered an omelette and he really enjoyed his meal as well. All in all, this place had a wide range of items to choose from and the food was really good, and affordable. Well within walking distance with everything else in ClearWater, this place offers EXCELLENT food choices and a great selection of coffee and cold brew. My wife and I ordered breakfast. She had the spinach omelette, an amazing light and flavorful omelette to get the day started. I had chosen the southwestern omelette that comes with two tortilla wraps. It was fabulous! Along with our main entree we got some gluten free pancakes that were a first for us. They tasted amazing! Only thing that was different was the texture of the pancake but that didn't bother us. The drink came with Bacon and a Bellini For Brunch I had the Lobster and Brie Omlette and my love had the Shrimp and Grits Both items were amazingly prepared and left us craving for more! This place is so good! This is the 2nd time this week we came here. You have to try their Bloody Mary and the ABE sriracha Bloody Mary! So delicious. That will clean your pipes in a jiffy, add some coffee on the side and you won't need a colon cleanse or colonoscopy for ages. I love the fact that they have gluten free pancakes and coconut milk creamer instead of dairy for food sensitivities. I wish they had a little better variety of foods for people who aren't able to eat dairy, eggs, gluten or nuts, but that's ok, I am used to adjusting and eating what I can. They made my toddler boys English muffins with smoked salmon to eat even though it wasn't on the menu, which they enjoyed. Their home fries are amazing!
