I had my reservations that anyone would be able to break my eldest of her extreme fear of water or my youngest of her timidity. But, with her patience and persistence, Ms. Paige had them enjoying the water in no time! We have been swimming year-round with her for the past three years. Not because my children haven't learned how to swim, but because the LOVE it! Paige is unique in that she teaches each child as an individual, working with their own personality style and skill level. Over the years I have seen her interact with many different children. She has a gift with special needs kids. She can accomodate unusual requests, like blending groups of swimmers so that siblings and friends can be in the same class, if desired. To me, learning to swim is as important as wearing a seat belt. It is a life-saving skill every child needs to learn. Ms. Paige will not only teach your child how to stay safe around water, but she will teach him/her to love swimming.

Within the last few weeks, class has had to be cancelled multiple times due to chemical imbalances in the pool. While this has happened before, the frequency seems to be increasing and the advance notice seems to be decreasing. Today, we travelled all the way to the facility before being told. The time before that, we were told after we were already in the pool. As customers who have accrued several makeups due to the closing, it's frustrating to be gifted another makeup as a resolution.

My son, who is faster than half the team, was told he "does not fit" in a cruel email during Easter. This is not a supportive club; it's a disgrace. Fantastic swim school. We had our son at Emler for a year and the schools are "night and day"…read moredifferent. For starters, our kid actually gets to swim at this class, what a concept. Emler's lesson plans were unorganized at times and with each class having 4 kids, it left less time for the other kids to get some pool time, tbe would sit and wait for their "turn". At Big Blue my kid is in the pool the entire time, no ledge sitting. The lessons and goals are clear with their app that shows their progress, and the instructors are are wonderful with children. It's a great school and we have seen more progress in a few months here versus the year at Emler. Not trying to bash Emler, but this is simply a better environment for swimming lessons.

The bathrooms don't appear to be maintained and the same goes for the changing rooms. Visibly dirty floors are the biggest offender by the pool, bathroom and changing area. Quality of lessons? Employees are disengaged. I question staff training because there seems to be no consistency. On several occasions I have observed staff flirting with each other instead of teaching class, playing water games with each other and distracting students to name a few examples.
