It's one of those places where I pass by on my walk to Notre Dame. I wake up from my nap, I stop by…read morehere and I order me a simple baguette sandwich. I eat about half of it there on the stand up tables (if they're available.) Ok,,, it's one of those no frills joint that I like so much. You walk in, you bark your order to the cashier. She sets you up with your sandwich and tells you how much it is. You reach in your pocket, you pay her, she give you change and you're out the door. On to the next one. The sandwiches they serve here is pretty good. Salmon, ham, cheese, greens, tomatoes, onions, etc. Those are all pretty much created equal,,, what really makes the difference here is the bread. They make their own bread here,,, yes,,, own bread,,, from scratch. Flour, water, yeast, etc... all that good stuff. All that and a lot of love to create the perfect light and crispy on the outside and mouthwateringly chewy and tasty baguette you've ever put in your basic mouth. Anyways, the simple things are what I love,,, and Le Fournil Du Maine is what I call my regular joint. Thank you so much for making amazing sandwiches,, I'll see you again next time I'm in town. A Slice of Heaven at Notre Pâtisserie, Paris!…read more My visit to Notre Pâtisserie was nothing short of magical-this charming Parisian gem exceeded all my expectations with its flawless pastries and warm, inviting ambiance. The Tarte au citron meringuée was an absolute revelation: the crisp, buttery crust cradled a velvety lemon filling that struck the perfect balance between tangy and sweet, finished with a delicate torched meringue topping. Pure sunshine on a plate! Their legendary Opera Cake is a masterclass in precision-layers of almond sponge, coffee buttercream, and dark chocolate ganache harmonize into an elegant, rich symphony of flavors. Each bite was sheer perfection. I fell in love with their Orange Brioche Buns, too-pillowy soft dough swirled with fragrant orange zest and a hint of caramelized sweetness. Paired with coffee, it was morning bliss. And of course, their Croissant? The gold standard. Shatteringly crisp exterior giving way to airy, honeycombed layers with that unmistakable French butter aroma. Worth waking up early for! With impeccable craftsmanship in every creation and service that makes you feel like family, Notre Pâtisserie is a non-negotiable stop for any pastry lover in Paris. Merveilleux!
