If you're looking for an affordable assisted living option, I highly recommend considering Cogir of…read moreNorth Bay. It's an impressive community, and the residents we met were warm, happy, and very friendly. The rooms are exceptionally large, include small kitchens, and the entire facility feels clean, upgraded, and well-maintained, comparable to many of the more expensive communities I visited. Despite its lower cost, Cogir of North Bay still offers all the essential amenities and a pleasant, welcoming environment. It's also conveniently located near Sutter Medical Center, and online reviews are consistently positive. Overview The facility includes approximately 100 apartments: about one-quarter are independent living units, and the remaining three-quarters are assisted living. The rooms are spacious and include kitchenettes (much larger than those in most assisted livings). The staff appeared friendly and welcoming during our visit. Assisted Living Fees (as of November 2025) Studio Apartment: $3,095/month One-Bedroom Apartment: Starting at $3,295/month Community Fee: Equal to one month's rent (one-time fee) Medication Management: $625/month Shower Assistance: $300/month Escort Assistance: $625/month Dining Assistance: $750/month Two-Person Assistance: $1,125/month Diabetic Management: $750/month Enhanced Behavioral Support: $750/month Enhanced Nursing Support: $1,000/month Annual Rent Increase: 5%-6% Special Offer: First month's rent free Additional Notes: Basic rent includes transportation to appointments in Vallejo on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Toilet paper and tissues are not included in the rent fees. Residents can purchase those at their store if desired. The facility's food budget appears to be limited; for example, a vegetarian sandwich with avocado seemed to be a challenge. This is not surprising, though, considering the lower cost. They also didn't seem willing to accommodate the request, even when we offered to pay an extra monthly fee for the avocado (which was disappointing, as our family member currently likes to eat an avocado sandwich for lunch every day).

Assisted living. No complaints and that is saying a lot. They do exactly what they promise. Very…read morepleased

But, she just recently found out that the security guard that has been securing this community for the past few years is being let go because of the new fencing and she feels really uneasy (as do other resident friends of her) not knowing who she will call to respond quickly for any incident as she's been able to do in the past with this security guard at any time of the night or day. I personally have seen this security guard locking up the top entrance gate late nights and at various times when it was left open. I was also in the parking lot when I saw this security guard help a senior who had fallen in the bushes and also saw this guard help when a senior needed to move their vehicle because of a medical issue. I enjoy visiting her and the facility is very beautiful and well-kept and the people who work here are very courteous, as was the security guard who will now be sorely missed by my family member.

My parents are considering relocating to the Bay Area and are looking for independent living facilities. I toured this place on their behalf and I fell in love. I was wondering when I could move in. Lol. This place is bright and clean and cheerful and everyone greets everyone. My tour was fantastic. I got so much information and such a great feel for the place. They offer so much here, including weekly outings, weekly social hour, bingo, a library, a salon, a gym, and I'm sure I forgot a lot more. If you're considering places for your loved ones who are elderly this is the place to go.

I will preface this with , do not place anyone you love at Solano Post Acute aka Windsor (make sure…read moreto search yelp for that name because they are still receiving reviews under Windsor Vallejo Care Center) My grandfather was at Solano Post Acute for 90 days following a stroke. He was to be getting physical therapy and care. Instead he got neglect and abuse. I had to be there every single day/multiple times a day to make sure he had his water refreshed (50+ times), make sure he got his soiled diapers and bedding changed, & make sure that his food & drink were in arms reach. Most times that I showed up to visit my grandpa he would be laying in a soiled diaper and soaked sheet. I would have to physically go out and find a CNA to clean him up because the response times on the call lights are little to none. Speaking of call lights, a lot of times when I went to visit my grandpa... the call button was on the floor out of his reach. My grandpa and his neighbor both told me that staff takes away their call buttons. If this neglect wasn't bad enough, the night before Father's Day my 77 yo bed bound grandfather was punched in the face 4 times in one instance by a fully mobile 60 yo resident while under the "care" of Solano Post Acute. Solano Post Acute "cares" so much that they didn't even notice this attack occurred. Supposedly no one knew a thing. Guess who brought the attack to staffs attention after entering my grandfathers room and being greeted by a black eye with a gash? ME! I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Nurses quickly rushed to my grandpas bedside and started a strange line of questioning. The attacker wasn't present at the time and the nurses were struggling to figure out what happened. When the ball got passed from Nursing to the Administrator a couple days later, he told me that the attacker denied the allegation and there is nothing else that could be done because my grandpa doesn't fully remember the attack. Well we now know that to not be true because the facility was violated as a result of the complaint that I made to the department of Public Health regarding this incident. The attacker admitted to the investigator that he hit my grandpa 4 times and he said that he also admitted that to the Administrator & Vallejo Police days prior. I'm not sure why he wasn't arrested or removed from the facility, but he was still in the facility(different room) for atleast 18 days after the attack. As soon as the violation was given to the facility... the attacker was gone in the wind. Do not let the remodel and name change fool you. Please please please do not send anyone you love here! Our elderly deserve way better care and concern than what Solano Post Acute is giving out.

They may seem nice at first like the manager Jennifer who was so friendly and welcoming until we signed the dotted line then when we tried to stop past her office to ask her a question she couldn't even be bothered to look up from her computer. Jennifer is a very fake person and she is not the only one the whole staff pretends to be friendly. My mother was supposed to move in so we signed paperwork to get one of their specials where you get first month, 7th month, and 13th month free. We signed the paperwork and the clock started rolling and the apartment still wasn't even ready, they had not even been to see my mother to do the assessment which they are supposed to do before a new tenant moves in. My mother took a turn for the worst and was going to end up needing more care then they can provide. We went to Jennifer and told her and instead of being understanding she was very rude and told us she was going to need to figure out how much it was going to cost us. What!!! I had to write a very rude letter to corporate in order for them to agree to give us our community fees back and guess what it's been 34 days and still nothing. Tried to call corporate and they just give us the runaround looks like I'm going to have to take them to court to get my mother her money back. Save yourself the headache and keep looking don't choose Emeritus at North Bay which is actually now Brookdale at North Bay, they keep changing their name, hmm I wonder why.

I sometimes become skeptical over Yelp reviews wondering who is actually writing them. What I'm…read moreabout to write is from the heart and if anything, I've understated the facts. If you have ever had to go through the process of finding suitable care for a loved one then you already know what a nightmare that can be. Their are facility owners who highly exaggerate their level of care, unqualified staff and unsuitable living conditions not to mention abuse. After several disastrous and dangerous attempts at placements for my Great Aunt and Mother, God blessed our family with Genesis Care Home for The Elderly in Vallejo. My Great Aunt was in her late 90's and my Mother suffered from Vascular Dementia. We had removed them from an unsuitable care facility and moved them right into Genesis Care Home after just one meeting with Sharon, the owner. After what my Mom and Aunt had been through, I was very direct in telling Sharon what level of care we were looking for and Sharon was equally honest and forthcoming about the level of care she provided and her philosophy on the care for the elderly. Let me start with the word Compassion. No matter how disoriented, difficult or delusional my mother or aunt became, the entire staff always remained compassionate, respectful and loving. The staff came into their rooms with a smile and spent many hours just laughing and talking with them. They took the time to ask them questions about their lives and treated them like family. My Mom even gave them each nicknames. We are a very large family who would drop by all the time unannounced and always Mom and Auntie were clean, bathed and very well fed. The food that was prepared for them was spectacular....and I'm a retired Caterer! Anytime of the day, the residents can help themselves to snacks or fresh fruit. During the Holidays and their birthdays the spread they put out is unbelievable and all family members are not only welcomed but encouraged to stay and join in. Genesis actually took the time to find out what my Moms favorite foods and T.V. programs were and made sure both were provided. The staff regularly took the time to call and express their concerns over medications, behavioral changes or their general happiness and comfort so as a team, we could make whatever adjustments were necessary to make their daily lives better. Both my Aunt and Mom have passed now, but I will continue to stop by for a visit to Genesis Care Home, to visit this very special place, and this group of phenomenal ladies. I am forever grateful, Diana A.
