I'm a new patient at Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center as of May 2021. I've been into the office…read moretwice so far, and have had positive experiences in person on both occasions. The first was for an annual check up, which was very easy to schedule over the phone. At the end of this appointment, I tried to schedule a follow up appointment for some bloodwork and a vaccination. I was told that you cannot make appointments in-person and had to do so online, which I found a bit frustrating because I prefer making my follow ups while there so I don't forget. After my first visit, I was sent information via email regarding how to sign up for their online portal. I did so and attempted to make the follow up appointments I needed, sadly the website is tricky to navigate, and the "services" I needed, did not appear as options for me to select while scheduling. Five months later... I finally got around to calling and was able to make the appointment over the phone but learned that they no longer do bloodwork in house. I was easily able to schedule my vaccination appointment with options as early as the same day and next day. This week I arrived early by for my 8:15 AM appointment. I was seen about 10 minutes late, but that's fine. I was provided with paperwork regarding the vaccination I was receiving and then administered the vaccine. This process took about 10 minutes start to finish. After leaving, I realized that I do not have a follow up appointment scheduled yet, and will need one. I plan to call sooner than later to ensure I don't go another five months without returning. I've found the staff members to be kind and professional. I really liked Molly Lee, who did my annual as she was thorough and informative. In a perfect world, I'd be able to schedule my next appointments while there in person.

Although this and the Penn Medical facilities I've used do a great job medically and service wise,…read moremy rating is based on their CONSTANT late billing of their patients for "PAID" co-pays. I have used the Penn Sports Medicine facilities for over 15 yrs and this practice continues to this day. What continues to happen is months after your appointment, you receive a bill in the mail for your co-pay. But keep in mind, you won't be seen w/o paying your co-pay first. They are banking on you not having your receipt to dispute the bill. I've gotten ripped off by this routine at least 3 times over a 15 yrs period bec I could not find or did not get a receipt during my visit. Penn's billing department or system makes sure that you're not contacted before at least a 4 month period has passed. This has happened to my wife as well repeatedly over the years. And if you do not have "your" receipt, they simply do not have a record of your cash payment. So do yourself a favor and pay via debit or credit card or keep your receipts for at least a year because they will try you. SHAMEFULL

There is no better primary care doctor (who takes insurance) in the city. "Dr. Mike" is a great guy…read morewho genuinely cares for his patients. Once you get face time with him you have his 100% super thorough attention. That however is a problem when you are waiting to see him. Since he takes such good time with his patients, you tend to wait a bit. But it's worth it since the care he gives is incredible. Note, he is very thorough (Maude Lebowski would be proud) so you may end up going for some more tests than you'd normally get. But I trust him and his opinion 100%

I called around 11 a.m. to address a billing discrepancy regarding a student doctor and my insurance not covering services provided by students. Instead of receiving assistance, I was met with hostility from the receptionist, Keisha. She was argumentative, dismissive, and outright disrespectful. When I calmly relayed what my insurance company had told me, she responded with statements like, "I don't know what to tell you," and even accused me of lying by saying, "You're lying, that's not true." No patient should ever be spoken to that way, especially when trying to resolve a billing/insurance concern. I remained composed during the call, but the level of unprofessionalism was shocking. I escalated the matter to the Practice Manager, Joyce Summerville, and unfortunately, that conversation was just as unproductive. My concerns were not taken seriously, and the behavior was not meaningfully addressed. This experience has significantly damaged my trust in this practice. I will be filing a formal grievance. Patients deserve respectful communication and accountability when issues arise.

I've been coming to Penn Center for Primary Care for many years, and overall I've had a very…read morepositive experience. Since it's a teaching practice, your primary care doctor may change once they complete their residency. However, the office does a good job of notifying you when your doctor is moving on and helping you transition to someone new. While I've had several different physicians over the years, I really don't have any major complaints. One of the biggest advantages is that all of your medical records stay within the practice. Each new doctor has access to your history before your appointment, so you don't have to start completely from scratch every time. Even though every provider has a different approach, I've found that most of the doctors I've seen take the time to listen, hear my concerns, and work with me to come up with a plan that fits my needs. That has made a big difference in my experience. Getting a routine appointment can sometimes take a little while, but if you're sick and call the nurse triage line, they're usually able to rearrange the schedule and get you seen much sooner. Check-in is also quick and easy. Parking is probably the biggest downside. They have a newer parking garage, but it's a bit of a walk to the office, which can be challenging if you have mobility issues. There isn't much handicap parking directly in front of the building most of it is around the corner. While I understand those spaces would likely fill up quickly, having a few closer to the entrance would be helpful. Ongoing construction in the area can also make getting there a little more difficult, although there is metered street parking if you're lucky enough to find a spot. Overall, the staff and providers have treated me well over the years, and despite the occasional parking and scheduling challenges, I'll continue coming here. It's a practice I feel comfortable recommending.
