The focus is on horsemanship and not just throwing you on a horse. They ask your goals and help you work towards them. Do you want to be a better rider? Do you want to work towards owning your own horse and being able to care for them? Do you want to learn how to train the horse you have to be a safe partner through natural horsemanship? Previously i ran into people who were very skilled with horses but either were not or did not even want to be teachers. They seemed like they were just instructing to help pay for their own: riding , roping or horse training careers. The instructors at crossroads love teaching just as much as they love horses. You will never feel intimidated. They will push you but never to a place where you feel unsafe. Still not sure then just stop bye and ask to meet Shire!

Or at least to another time where things were more laid back, fun, carefree. It is also the most pristine farm we have ever seen. From the runs and stables where the animals are, to the common areas where the Farm to Table Dinners are served, everything is super clean and orderly. Even the animals were friendly and took to our elderly Great Dane immediately. As for the lodging, the best word to describe it is charming. We stayed in the one bedroom cottage and it was perfect for the two of us and our Great Dane. Once again, super clean and orderly but with a cozy factor built in that makes you feel like you have stepped into something from a movie set. A King bed is the main visual when you walk in and sits opposite a comfy chair and a pot bellied stove for colder evenings. A medium TV with satellite sits atop the chest of drawers and a little cafe style table and chairs round out the main room. Plenty of windows so lots of natural light. The kitchen 'area' is small but plenty big enough for two. It includes a microwave, sink small counter top, toaster oven and I believe there may be a portable electric stove top underneath that you can use on the counter should you need it. There is also a small but larger than dorm-size fridge freezer combo and is rounded out by a pub height table and chairs for two. The bathroom is fabulous! So much water pressure in the shower, you just don't want to get out. The Gratidude Ranch is well located and makes getting to Franklin, Leiper's Fork and Fairview easy. We went to all three and Nashville during our stay. The Gratidude Ranch is truly a special place with folks that have enormous hearts running it. Sorry this is such a long review but I promise it doesn't even begin to cover all The Gratidude Ranch has to offer. So come on Yelpers, come visit, stay, and Yelp about everything else we missed.

Your group picks a putter and is given a golf ball, which you digitally scan at the beginning of the course and add your name. Each hole will electronically detect which ball is yours. No need to carry pencils and a paper score card! Woohoo. My favorite hole was trivial pursuit themed. They give you a multiple choice question with two potential answers. There are two holes to aim towards, dependent upon what you think the correct answer is. Fun! Even our ADHD child was focused and we all had a blast. Looking forward to going back! The only downside was the parking, which was a challenge.

The fewer shots you take, the more points you get - BUT, you can get points for hitting certain marks (like connecting four in the Connect Four game, or answering the Trivial Pursuit question correctly, etc). Each hole is creative and is more than just a putt. There are some downsides... to start, you have to park somewhere. It can be tough to find street parking, so you end up $20-some in the hole parking in a ramp. Downtowns...amiright? It was pretty busy when we were there - all the courses were packed. The first few holes were pretty slow, but things picked up a bit. I heard there was bar service out on the courses, but I didn't see any (though there were empty glasses and bottles on all the pub tables). With all that, the golfing was incredible and I would totally do it again. We only hit 9 holes (on a schedule - all we could do), but I'd be totally down to do their "all you can play" deal and make it a day.

The filet itself was cooked to the requested temperature, and overall the food was fine, but nothing particularly stood out as memorable. Everything was acceptable, though not especially remarkable. Overall, Firebird Grill may work well for larger groups or families looking for a convenient, casual meal, but with so many standout restaurants in Nashville, it's probably not a place I'd personally revisit.
