I booked my package of massages with Ana at Annex. I tried using the website, which wasn't working. I had to call to book - no big deal. While the massages were ok (I was kind of stuck as I already paid for all 5 + tip) the professionalism was lacking. Pretty much EVERY appointment she was late by 7-15 minutes, she would be talking on her phone/texting, and wasn't wearing mask. I get being late a few minutes, but 4/5 times? Then the whole texting while working on clients is not professional. The most unprofessional place I've been to in my years of going to massage therapy. Ana was late to the first appointment, which I understand -- traffic, life, obligations, that happens. I paid $145 for what was supposed to be a 45 minute to an hour lymphatic massage, but only received about 25 minutes of it because she was late to the appointment by about 20 minutes. In circumstances like that, I would think that a professional would either offer an amount off because I am paying by the time, or add the minutes that she was late to to make up for the cost. Nope, kept the same price, with time taken away because SHE was late. I should have sought another place at this point, but I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, and it might have just been that day. We all have bad days. I booked another appointment for the following week in the morning. I send a text message to her upon arriving at the agreed time, radio silence. After waiting for 10 minutes, I decide to call. She picks up and informs me that she won't be able to make it today and if I would like to book for tomorrow. She claimed she sent me a text message about this, but there was no text sent. She clearly received my message at our agreed upon time when I asked her on the phone if she got my message. Not showing up on time, then no communication with your client, and on top of that, lying to your client about communication are only three things that make her unprofessional. On top of this, she takes calls, texts while in the middle of a session. I've gotta say -- if I'm paying $145 for a session, I do expect to have your full attention as a service for the duration. If you want to waste your time, then go ahead and book an appointment with them, maybe you will have a better experience than me. I hate writing bad reviews because initially I really liked going here due to Ana's flexibility. I get endermology with Ana and wood therapy with Patty. * Service: I'm giving 4 stars for wood therapy and 3 for endermology/cavitation * Professionalism: 2 stars - I understand she runs her own business so she needs to take calls but sometimes she'll have straight up conversations with people on the phone. I'm a laidback person so I let it slide but I can tell when she's distracted and/or texting because she'll leave the machine on one area. I find it incredibly unprofessional but never brought it up in fear of lower service. - I bought a package of 10 endermology sessions and asked Ana if I could substitute 2 sessions (valued at ~$120 each x2 = $240) for 3 wood therapy sessions ($80 each x3 = $240). Which means a total of 11 sessions. She said it was fine but when it came to the last 11th session, she stopped answering my calls and texts. I figured she may be on vacation but she can still text me back to say she's busy (See photo) TLDR: I think Ana is pretty knowledgeable and cares about her clients but she needs to work on her professionalism by not answering calls and texts while working on a client. In November 2015, I had lipo in several areas of my body including my stomach, back, hips. I had my surgery in Miami and in Miami there are Port Surgical Care spas on every corner. In Northern California, without exaggeration there are almost NONE. During my 2 week stay, I received 8 lymphatic massages to help with fluids and healing, when I got home to CA, specifically San Jose, I searched high and low to find a port surgical care spa or specialist to help me. Dr.'s in Miami and other areas not only recommend, but require that you have some kind of aftercare to help with healing and so there is an abundance of trained people. For some reason in Northern Ca. there doesn't seem to be the same kind of mind set. Hence, supply and demand is lacking... In my research I found that LPG Endermologie will aid in your healing after surgery. I googled and searched Yelp and after searching high and low I found Sheila Ko of Beauty Einstein. After several weeks of being in pain and desperation, I made my first 90 minute appointment. Unfortunately, it was too late, I had Fibrosis in my stomach from the scar tissue and superficial damage of aggressive liposuction. The only way to get rid of this is Endermologie and very aggressive manual massage. I have had 5 treatments so far with Sheila and have seen a significant amount of improvement. I will require several more treatments and probably long term.. I plan on continuing my work with her even after I am 100% healed. Sheila has helped me learn new techniques to help with lightening and tightening my stretch marks as well. She has a background of working with Athletes for post injury care. It's important to work with someone who understands and is trained/certified in dealing with trauma to soft tissues if you are looking for post-surgical care. Understanding the biology and anatomy is a must. Sheila is not just a beauty specialist, she truly understands and has the experience with what your body needs to recover. She is a life saver! I recently had lipo and went to Junko for post lipo lymphatic massage. Most surgeons in this area don't recommend this after care but it was invaluable to my healing process. I came here before my wedding for a body wrap to help with some bloating I was experiencing. Sheila was lovely and the room was nice and clean but that's where the positivity ended. I paid $75.00 for 45 minute body wrap which did absolutely nothing. It was a silver 'space suit' which simply squeezed me for 30 minutes (not 45 as I was told). Half way through when I realized this was a completely useless experience I questioned how this worked exactly. I came to Sheila after undergoing lipo. I came in two weeks post-op. My doctor had recommended a post lipo massage that would help reduce swelling and scarring under the surface of the liposuctioned areas. When I came in I was pleased with her eagerness to help me. She asked me about my goals and worked with me as this would take a few sessions to heal after lipo. She recommended the LPG Endermologie machine and told me her office had the newest model. I did some research and learned this was a good option for me. Within the first week I began to see bruising and fluid build up going away and the second week the swelling was gone. I also purchased Panex Ginseng from her to help me with the bruising throughout my body. I did a few sessions of infra slim wrap that helped more with the lymphatic drainage. Junko was amazing. She is clearly passionate about what she does for a living and that comes through in her treatments. I did not go in planning to get a facial but she sold me on it and I'm so glad. She takes her time and the face, neck and shoulder massage is out of this world. I went in for Endermologie for nerve pain/pain relief and also out of curiosity:) It felt amazing and my pinched nerve pain is significantly better. It's definitely not cheap and I can't speak to any of the lofty claims regarding cellulite or whatever, but for pain relief and relaxation, I loved it. I have been doing LPG with Junko. LPG really helped me to reshape my body by targeting the areas that I could not improve with exercise and dieting. I have done LPG for my wedding and got a beach body for the honey moon. Seriously! It is incredible that in 30ies you can get a better body than you had in 20ies. I have done manual anti cellulite massages in the past and tried ultra sound. I found LPG the most effective than the hands one and more pleasant than the ultra sound.
