I found this place recently and decided to try it out. First of all, the inside was like stepping into an Asian country. There is a big frame that holds the privacy curtains. Rung is easily one of the best therapists I have worked with, and I have seen many over the years. Her studio is clean and inviting. The room has a flowing water machine, salt lamp and delicate music. Rung uses a top line table that has optional heating. Above all, Rung is very clearly a master of her craft. Her technique has been noticeably honed over many years of practice. Between her hands, forearms, elbows and feet, she is able to apply more than enough of the firm pressure that I need to enjoy and benefit from the therapy. She has a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the human anatomy and musculoskeletal system, which allows her to aid in my healing and recovery, without leaving me sore and feeling "beat up", the way less diligent practitioners often do. To cap it off, Rung has a very kind, empathetic and pleasant disposition. The best massage I've ever had in my life. I have had many back problems. Lower back pain, upper and shoulder pain. Even spasms. I've been to the best Spa's for massage in the world and hands down Rung made me feel better I have ever felt. I was visiting family in the bay area. I found Rung on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. I've been having Rung as a massage therapist for 3-4 years now, hm, maybe longer since I recall her doing pregnancy massages on me and my daughter is 4 now. I have been getting massages from Rung for several years. I can honestly say, she is the best. I am a massage connoisseur. From sports massages, to pregnancy massages (when I was pregnant with twins), to foot massages, and Swedish massages, you name it, I've tried it. I have been to about a dozen massage spas up and down the West cost. The one masseuse I can always count on to give me a great massage is Rung. I prefer deep tissue, so mostly I get deep tissue massages from Rung, but she has also given me Thai massages, sports massages, and Swedish massages. I like that Rung knows anatomy so well. No matter what is ailing me, she can always find a way to de-kink and de-stress me. She is also completely professional. if I want to chit chat during my massage, she is very friendly (and interesting!) and will talk with me. But if I want to be quiet and savor my massage, she is completely silent during the massage, unlike other masseuses I've had. If I want extra pressure, or less pressure, all I have to do is ask. She is not offended, and is happy to adjust her techniques to give me the pressure I want. Basically, Rung is very good at reading what I want and need. Every massage is slightly different because she can tell what each body needs instinctively. I can't recommend Rung and her massages highly enough. read more
