Anna's Pizza - Dinner triple couple date with friends - Pizza Near Me - Midlothian, Virginia

Been here several times with family over the years. Haven't really had an outstanding experience any time I've gone. This time the waitress took forever and forgot way too many things - which we had to ask for several times. The food was alright. Not the best. The eggplant parmigiana was not what I was used to. It was very soggy and wet. The cheese was good. Noodles weren't cooked all the way but it tasted fine overall. Apparently the other dishes were good. The house salad and Italian dressing were not impressive either. That Italian dressing is not good whatsoever. The staff seem friendly and honest when you ask how something is. So that's def a bonus. Building wasn't too busy or loud either which I quite enjoyed. Seems like an easy spot for family dinners. But def won't be returning of my own free will again. read more

First time at Anna's Restaurant and I had an amazing experience! Caddie gave GREAT customer service and really helped me pick the perfect meal. She was patient, friendly, and made my first visit feel welcoming. I highly recommend trying Anna's Restaurant -- I'll definitely be back! read more

Our search for the best pizza ended here. We stopped in on a whim and were pleasantly surprised with the ambience and service...the menu has a lot of yummy dishes to choose from, but we focused on pizza. Best crust since we left Jersey. We will be back! read more

This was quite an interesting experience. We were a party of 10. When we first arrived we were told they didn't have a place to seat us together so we asked if we could just have two booths as there was plenty of seating open and this isn't a restaurant that takes reservations. The hostess walked away again and then returned and said she could seat us. We were sat at a long table together which was interesting given we were initially told they had no seating together for us. We were sat and not spoken to for about 15 mins. Someone in our party had to ask if we had a server. When our server first came to our table she tossed down straws and asked for our drink order. We stated our orders and she wrote them down but then with a frustrated tone she said she couldn't hear so we repeated all 10 drink orders again. We almost got up and walked away after that as it was initially very off putting. However, the server did turn it around and she was great after that initial interaction. I'm sure she was stressed and just had a moment. As for the food it's exactly what you'd expect from a local American Italian restaurant. The food wasn't bad but also not noteworthy. read more

Portions generous and consistently good but the Anna's Steak Sub is outstanding! Never had an issue with orders or staff ever in all the years we've been customers. read more

Very good baked ziti pizza. It would have been better with a little more ricotta, but otherwise, I was very pleased. I also ordered shrimp pasta but didn't get to take a photo. I asked for extra garlic which made it yummy! But a little too much lemon. Good experience overall. read more

Just had the worst customer service possible. We ordered a large pizza, garlic bread and a salad and when it arrived, the pizza was no where near what we ordered. We ordered pepperoni on 1/2 the pizza and mushrooms, onions on the other 1/2 and green peppers on all of it. As you can see, no pepperoni and onions on all of it. We called Anna's to let them know and was told by the owner that it wasn't their problem and to contact DoorDash to resolve it. She never asked what was wrong with it nor did she admit they were at fault. She just proceeded to blame DoorDash. Well, as you can see from the receipt, it was not Doordash's fault. Terrible terrible service! read more

Great Italian spot in Midlothian on Hull Street! The food here is always great - I have been coming for 4 years, mostly for lunch as it is right next to my work. It is usually pretty busy, and is for dinner to, for good reason! This is definitely my top pizza spot in Midlothian, and is one of the best in the Richmond area as a whole! The cheese pizza is great, but their topping pizzas are good too (the works, pepperoni, Buffalo chicken, etc. come loaded with toppings!) Their wraps, subs, and sandwiches are also great. Prices are very fair, and this place is a great value. I always leave happy with my choice to come here! Would definitely recommend and return here read more

The purpose of any review I write is to help steer others in ordering what might be better than maybe something else so...here we go! I'm not really sure what name this restaurant really goes by. It's Anna's Pizza here on Yelp but the menu says Anna's Italian Restaurant & Pizza so...I'll just get that part out of the way. This was our very first visit! We were greeted by a very nice and peppy gal, which was a wonderful touch! The ambiance is cozy but it's too bad they don't kick it up a notch with maybe some nice ambient Italian music. Instead of Italian music they had contemporary 80's pop tunes playing overhead (sigh). :( We were seated.... I was really craving a martini but we could tell that even with a full bar this might not be a very popular drink. Well...this must be the case, as we were told they were out of olives. So we ordered our martini's non-dirty. They also came in champagne flutes. (Hey, at least I got my martini!) The appetizers.... We ordered a 3-choice sampler of fried mushrooms, fried mozzarella, and fried ravioli. The fried mushrooms (YUM!!!!) They were fried but had great mushroom flavor! We also got Fried Mozzarella which also were very good! Our last our sampler platter order was the fried ravioli. They have three filling choices. We went with their jalapeño filling and let me tell ya-these didn't disappoint! Not spicy - but great flavor. The dipping sauce for the whole dish was a type of cheesy marinara which fit well and gave some color to its overall bland presentation, which for me was the only downside. I mean...I know it can be costly...even for maybe just a little lemon wedge and sprig of parsley so-eh. Our kids ordered lemonades (they come in a bottle) and garlic cheese bread to start. The garlic cheese bread looked AMAZING and our kids absolutely loved it! The entrees.... Our eldest ordered a sausage pizza (it looked amazing!) and really enjoyed it, while our youngest ordered fettuccini alfredo (no chicken). The alfredo came with a soup or salad. Youngest chose the minestrone -which turned out to be a big hit! Both kids said they would most certainly come back to eat here again! Now on to our entrees... Again, this is just to help others to make the best decision possible of what to order when they visit Anna's... Our entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. My date and I chose a salad for ours and I've gotta say that we LOVED those salads! We both ordered blue cheese dressing (that come on the side / are not mixed in the salad). We especially LOVED the chunks of blue cheese-YUM! I ordered the Chicken Marsala W/ Mushrooms and my date ordered the meat lasagna. The portions are pretty large and quite heavy/filling. My Marsala had a nice wine kick but overall but the entrée itself seemed really heavy-maybe too much flour? I really don't know but I will most likely NEVER order it again as I was really turned off by this dish. My date liked his lasagna but said it filled him up pretty fast. He added that he thought the portion was enough for 4 people. The wines... I ordered a glass of Toscana and my date ordered a glass of Chianti. I LOVED the Chianti so much that I switched glasses with my date! Dessert.... Our server was wonderful and super sweet and was correct on the dishes she suggested, one being their Limoncello dessert-it was a big hit! So all in all .....not the Italian experience I was expecting but it was a WONDERFUL night out with our family and an experience I felt was worth sharing here on Yelp, especially for someone else it might benefit. Thanks for reading! "Fino alla prossima volta...." read more

Worst customer service from the owner. I dined in Friday evening, good was great, service was ok a little slow at first, bill was $36 left $45 over 20% tip. On my way out I was approached by the manager asking did I enjoy the food, I responded yes I did. He said you forgot this and gave me 0.12 cents back and said she doesn't need that. It took me a minute to figure out what he was insinuating. He and the other 2 servers thought I only left a 0.12 cent tip because the server couldn't count right. Thoroughly disgusted how the owner approached me. The cashier didn't give the server the right change. Will not ever go back here. I always tip at least 20%. read more

After a long absence I had a hankering for pizza & went to my favorite place & server who knew exactly how I like my pizza: thin crust & burnt, ok, crispy crispy. That's exactly what I got AND got a table visit from the maker, Antonio to check how it was. Quite a nice guy, he aims to please. Btw his dad who is there, is also a considerate nice guy. It's a family setting with a lot of laughter and a welcoming greeting. read more

Quality of food was good but the price is just a bit higher for what we got. Some in the family would have said 3 stars so wish I could pick 3.5 stars....eh we have gone here enough to know they DO deserve 4 stars even if it didn't feel like it this time. The sampler platter just didn't provide a lot, but the steak and cheese sub had solid portions. I think for the pizza each half (they did special order - half was 'meat-lovers' the other half was 'the works') had 4 slices but 3 of us were aiming to just eat pizza so we really should have just ordered something else for our group of 6. So it goes.... They did have some good prices for happy hour including drink specials even though we didn't get any of them. read more

We have been enjoying the food at Anna's for nearly 40 years! Their food is consistently tasty, hot, and reasonably priced! Over the years the food quality and service has remained the same! I highly recommend this wonderful family run business - you won't be sorry! read more

My husband and I discovered Anna's Restaurant about a year ago and we're so glad we did. I have tried the white pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni and that is excellent. I've tried a meatball pizza and that was also excellent. The chef salad and antipasto salad along with side salads and the house Italian and ranch dressings are great also. My husband loves their spaghetti and meatballs. I tried the steak and cheese sub with only cooked onions and mushrooms and that was awesome. The service is always great and the restaurant is clean along with their restrooms. They are very friendly and accommodating. There are many menu options to choose from. I tried the shrimp scampi and even though its ok, I don't care for lots of lemons in mine. read more

Leaving a one star due to poor service from waitress. Heavy set white lady with zero personality and poor customer service. Iam sure she's been a waitress for a while--should know to ask "how is your food" " do you need anything else". Only there to take our order and clear table after eating our food. Need more training. Stay home if you don't want to deal with customers!! FACTS. read more

Ordered a medium half cheese, half pepperoni & sausage but received half pepperoni half sausage. No biggie. Pizza was very tasty, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the sausage. Sauce could've been more present, crust was nice. Not the typical Italian sausage flavor I was expecting, could just be me. Food was hot when arrived (delivered). I loved the pepperoni. It was nostalgic with the Anna's location in Mechanicsville, VA during my teen years. 1 of the close pizza/Italian food spots that remind me of ny style. Would order again. read more

I love this place. Great food, friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. Feels like a family owned, local place. Best lasagna in town.

Food is always great. Last time I went I got manicotti and my mom get a chicken parm sub. Both meals are great. They have signs up that starting in 2022 they will charge a see charge of 3.5% to use a card. I am not a fan of places charging me extra because I use my debit card. Paying with cash is so 20 years ago. I get some people still do. But it is more hassle than it is worth. That is the only reason I am reviewing at 4 stars, the food is great and service is great. read more

Great service lots of selection and large portions. We're willing to swap out sauces for vegetarian options.

Best Pizza and wings my favorite and also the pasta is very delicious I tried the Alfredo good choice.

Great food. My go to place for pasta. Large restaurant with nice friendly family atmosphere.

First time going after we had heard great things. They were pretty busy and seemed understaffed. The food was great but it took a while. We will definitely go back. We got the steak and cheese and a small pizza. The house salad wasn't anything to write home about. Next time I'd love to try the pasta. The garlic knots were so good but wish they gave bigger portions! read more
