It was counter service only, but for the prices, fantastic. Note: their paper menus are out of date so the items cost more than on the menu. I always attempt to write for vegans/vegetarians/omnivores. However this restaurant is strictly vegetarian but their food is delicious. My husband eats meat and loved the food. Meat-eaters do not need meat at EVERY SINGLE meal, at least I hope. My husband tried to order the masala paper dosai off of the outdated paper menu and they only offered a regular masala dosai. It sure looked like and tasted like a paper dosai to us! I ate about a quarter of his lunch, so he was left a bit hungry. It was just so good! I ordered rice, and rasam off the paper menu. Well, they no longer offer rasam. So I ordered rice, sambar and papadam. Also delicious! The counter order-takets were so very nice. The restaurant was nothing fancy, no booths even, but it was fine. Especially when you take the food and prices into consideration. We will 100% be back!

Amazing staff. Place was so clean! Very inviting! Food was also super fresh! We ordered pizza for my nephew! My parents ordered the special thali and chole bature. I ordered the Vada pav. Food was really good! Really impressed by the cleanliness and the fast service! We will be back soon!

Nice all vegeterian restaurant with Indian icecreams, sugarcane juices and many North Imdiam and Soitb Indian tiffins. They are selling savories and sweets as well.

We unknowingly tried Annapurna a couple times and I should say the taste, portion per price and variety is perfect!! We tried the Paneer dosa and Cholay Puri both of which had such good taste, massive quantities a really good chutney! Highly recommend - flexible timings and good parkin

My dad had heard about all you can eat dosa at this restaurant, so we decided to try it out. It is indeed all you can eat; however, the dosa they bring out is lightly filled as in there is a ton of dosa and very little potato. In fact, my dad was so frustrated with it that he asked for more filling in a bowl for us to stuff our dosas. If you don't mind that then this is a pretty good deal. The place is very casual almost giving a cafeteria vibe which I don't prefer but for a quick cheap vegetarian meal with my dad sure I'd do it again.

I was here by myself to grab some easy Indian staple food. I ordered a masala dosa and was surprised by the size of it. It was GiGANTIC. I took the challenge to finish it all and it had been a while since I ate dosa from a restaurant. So, savored the meal and enjoyed every bite. The sides were decent. We got hot sambar, and tomato chutney, coconut chutney. Both of the chutneys had a very North Indian flavor to it. It was a self service place with a lot of clean and nicely maintained seating. Definitely worth going back.

No frills casual joint for Indian street food snacks. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. Overall, everything was alright (for Chicago standards but defo don't compare to other cities or to India). Not the best Indian street snacks I've had, but decent and legit. The dahi puri was pretty good though! If you've never had Indian street snacks, worth checking out. Personally not the best judge since I'm not a big fan of them since I find them too starchy and Carb-heavy with the potatoes on bread combo for a lot of the dishes, but if that's your thing, then go for it.

Vanam is an expansive suburban restaurant serving authentic Southern Indian dishes with some surprises like Bisi Bele Bath (a Karnataka staple and uncommon stateside) which was authentic and tasty (albeit loaded with Ghee!). Masala Dosa was acceptable though the dosa batter could use some rework (Dosa texture was a bit off though the Masala was tasty). Chutneys also were tasty with fresh coconut in the main one. The Medu Vada/Sambar was another winner with flavorful, authentic Sambar with traditional veggies (Drumsticks indicated Vanam means business!). The Mirchi Bajji was a bit under seasoned but still crispy on the outside (batter and filling could have used a couple grains of salt). Service was prompt and everyone was very courteous. There seemed to be multiple birthdays being celebrated on this particular evening based on the music played out when the complementary? dessert was served! Prices were reasonable for the quality and service. Menu goes beyond traditional fare and includes Jain and Indo Chinese options. Overall, this is an excellent find and we hope to be back despite the long trek deep into Schaumburg. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is mainly for carry out but I like that they have some tables because Robert and I always prefer eating our food hot and fresh right at the restaurant. You can get your food anywhere from mild to very spicy you let them know the level of spice that you want. That is one big reason why I prefer coming here over an Indian restaurant with a buffet. Another big reason I like coming here is because they make it fresh and I can have them remove tomatoes from a recipe that has tomatoes in it. I highly recommend coming here. Don't think twice just come in and try something. It will be your favorite Indian restaurant especially for late night comfort dining.

If you're considering dining at Kritunga Indian Restaurant in the northwest suburbs of Chicago,…read morethink again. My recent experience there was nothing short of a disaster, and I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Here's why: Firstly, the management of the restaurant is incredibly unprofessional. The place is run by a group of young individuals who seem to have no understanding of customer service or respect for their patrons. Upon arrival, it was clear that they prioritized larger parties over smaller groups like ours. Despite the restaurant being relatively new, it was evident that they had not taken the time to properly train their staff or understand the basics of running a successful business. Our dining experience started off poorly and only got worse. The staff barely acknowledged us and seemed disinterested in providing any sort of quality service. The lack of attention to smaller parties like ours was not just noticeable but blatant. We felt ignored and undervalued, which set a negative tone for the entire meal. The food, which is supposed to be the highlight of any dining experience, was utterly disappointing. We ordered several dishes, hoping to enjoy the rich flavors and spices that Indian cuisine is known for. However, each dish was tasteless and bland. It was as if no thought or care had been put into the preparation. The flavors were flat, and the textures were off. It was a complete waste of money, especially considering there are numerous other Indian restaurants in the area that offer far superior food. Adding to the misery was the state of the restaurant itself. The floor was slippery, making it hazardous to walk around. It was clear that cleanliness and safety were not priorities here. Both bathrooms were lacking basic amenities, such as tissues, which is unacceptable. Additionally, there was no salt and pepper in the shakers at our table, a small but significant detail that further highlighted the restaurant's lack of attention to basic customer needs. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was also lacking. Instead of feeling welcomed and comfortable, we felt neglected and uncomfortable. The staff's attitude was one of arrogance and indifference, which was reflected in the poor service and subpar food. It's truly a shame because the northwest suburbs of Chicago have a vibrant dining scene with many excellent Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, this place does not come close to meeting the standards set by its competitors. The combination of poor service, tasteless food, and an unclean environment makes this place a regrettable choice for anyone looking to enjoy a meal out. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience from start to finish. The management needs to seriously rethink their approach to running a restaurant and prioritize their customers' needs and satisfaction. Until significant improvements are made, I would suggest avoiding this place and opting for one of the many other decent Indian restaurants in the area. Save your money and your taste buds--do not dine here.
