The park is gorgeous, hidden in the quiet hills of La Mirada. It's a hot spot for locals and dog lovers. Super clean, everyone is respectful and kind which adds to the charm of this park and the pride of La Mirada. Perfect place to put in your ear buds and zone out for a few hours while getting your steps in.

There's a basketball court, 2 tennis courts and lots of grass. Peak hours: There's a preschool next door, so at 10am it gets busy. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They have a lot of shady areas to rest and enjoy a cool breeze. There's two playgrounds, one for small children and one for bigger kids. There's a merry go round, rock climbing, jungle gym, swings, and basketball courts. You can bring toys and play in the sand pit. It's very relaxing and the kids and I both enjoyed ourselves. Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.

The big deal here is to take photos adjacent to the large water fountain. This is an extremely popular photo location, as over 100 students here in formal wear from various high schools. If your that desperate to keep a park open with rusty crusty playground area... you should really rethink the whole idea of it! Cause it's not worth a child being unsafe!
