Old review: Very bad customer service, even to get a new customer! I called Ankeny Sanitation to obtain information about rates and pick-up days. A lady answered the phone and provided me with the rates, but refused to tell me what the pick up dates are. I asked if I could give her my address to know what are the pick-up days. She said that "it would be a lot of work and she has other calls from other customers." I told her that the pick-up day may have an impact on my decision due to convenience. She responded that "she had given me a lot of information already and that if I called to set the service she would tell me the days."

They are fully staffed by volunteers who assist visitors to this venue. No personal questions are asked of visitors. Donations are accepted on specific days and times. I was incredibly impressed with the TAKE staff on today's initial visit. TAKE served nearly 30,000 people last year, an increase of 120% in the previous decade.
