Wow! I just had my first manicure with Anita! Absolutely terrific! I didn't realize how picky I was about my manicure until I moved to Franklin, TN two months ago. Women will understand this - the first 2 services we look for when we relocate are nails and hair experts. Yes, it's taken me 5 months of asking other women and reading every review I can find for a good nail tech. My search is over! I found the best in town. Anita is better than anyone I've ever been to including fine spas while traveling and top salons from California to New York. She may cost a bit more than "chop shops" but she's worth ever penny and her manicures last longer. Anita has over 25 years experience in nails, is current on every new technique and extremely kind and personable. Another huge plus- everything she uses on your nails is NEW except her stainless tools (which stay in sanitizer unless she's using them). Anita is wonderful! I typically hit the "mani/pedi factories" in strip malls due to their cheap prices, but I got a Groupon for Anita so I gave it a shot. I tell ya, once I got a decent pedi from Anita, I am now a convert. Her prices, while yes, are more than in a strip mall, are still competitive. Isn't the point of getting your nails done to get pampered, anyway?? The spa is lovely and relaxing, and you can tell Anita really cares about her work and her clients. I was offered complimentary tea or coffee upon my arrival, and set up in one of the more comfortable massage chairs I've been in. As a first timer, Anita explained to me her sterilization practices which was a nice touch - try asking them for that in a strip mall. read more

Nothing short of AMAZING - Anita Manicure is the spot for a tranquil and professional manicure / pedicure experience. It was just Anita and me privately situated in an elegant full service spa location. I had the choice of beverage and even snack. We started with a gentle manicure which included hand skin care, too, then transitioned to back massage chair, leg / foot massage and pedicure (she is first to get my big toe nails under control and her massage is strong + not rushed - lol). I really trusted the Yelp reviews when I tried Anita for the first time a few months ago. She is a master! I don't like the shopping mall nail places, too loud and rushed and the polish doesn't last. Anita is tucked into a cozy back rom at my favorite Nashville Day Spa, Andante. Anita is really fun and friendly, I look forward to going in and catching up with her. She is like a surgeon she is so picky and takes so much care with what she's doing. My nails have never been healthier or stronger. She does all the usual gel mani and acrylics etc, but her natural nail care is what I love. My toe polish looks shiny and fresh 3 weeks later, and my finger nails always last at least 2 weeks. She sends you home with affordable products that make the manicures last, which come in unmarked bottle of her own special mix. I'm not kidding she's like the stealth ninja of nails!!! She books about 2-3 weeks out, so be prepared to wait a bit for an appt, she's worth it. read more

(This is a copy of my review from CitySearch) I couldn't find the place to write a review for Anita Allen, who does the manicures and pedicures....I believe she is an independent business operating within the building, but I could be wrong. I typically go to Green Hills, Signature Spa, for my nails. I don't really like those type of in-out fast places, but they are kind of classy for what it is, and give you a drink. I opt for this over salon manicures becuase they are typically much more expensive. I used a groupon which made it very affordable, but believe I will be back. Her prices are competitive, as far as salon services go, and I was really impressed with the fact that she took it upon herself to assure me of the hygeine of the place. Regular clients have a baggie with their own tools, such as nail files and buffers, to limit the risk of catching something. The only thing that is not exclusively yours are the stainless steel tools, which are clearly in a disinfectant solution (barbacide? it's the blue stuff). The hygeine factor has always made me want to go to a real salon, as I question how scrupulously clean the baths/tools are in these other type of shops. I also noticed that the tips of my normally thin flaky nails were somehow thickened up, almost like a very, very fine overlay. I used to get acrylic overlay to harden my nails and make them perfect, but that was only slightly better than actual glue, in terms of causing flaking. When I emailed her my thanks, I noted that I loved whatever she did. She emailed back to say that she forgot to mention not to pull out the fill at the end of my nails, as it keeps the polish intact indefinetely longer. Upon inspection, I do see there is an almost invisible line of something clear that not only makes my nails perfectly hard, but is coating the nail to make chipping less likely. Also, while this should be standard practice, it is worth noting that she knows how to use her tools. I was not hurt once with the clippers and my cuticles look great. This does not, however, suprise me. I had to make my appointment to make sure mine and LEANN RIMES before me did not conflict. She was getting fresh paint for the CMA's. Just wanted to note that I will be back and recommend her. I don't normally do reviews, but, researching the groupon, I saw a review that was not really favorable for nails. Perhaps that was a different nail tech, but I am extremely happy with my results. P.S. - She sent me away with a goodie back with a piece of chocolate and a little keychain flashlight. Best manicure I've had in Nashville -- and I've literally been just about everywhere. Anita is kind, attentive, knowledgeable, careful, and very meticulous. I am VERY picky about my nails but I really have no complaints -- she did an amazing job, not a speck of polish out of place, and my nails look incredible. The best part?
