After I walked inside it was nothing like they had promised. Alright, there are holes where the samples are supposed to sit, but it is either empty or the sample is extremely beat up. When I asked someone if there is another tester somewhere, perhaps they could open one up (WHICH IS WHAT SEPHORA DOES, BY THE WAY), she shrugged like she could't care less and said "no". There is also no tissue or any other disposable applicator for you to comfortable test anything, even though the containers for them exist. When I asked for tissue they said they don't have any, and gave me the tiniest cut up makeup sponge instead. I wandered around in the store for a good 15-20 min, and no one approached me. Yes, I was dressed up. Yes, I looked like I was ready to buy something. Sometimes at Asian places if you look like a bum they don't bother approaching you. It shouldn't be like this but it is the ugly truth. But even then, if you flag someone down and ask for help, they would be willing to help you, albeit reluctantly. I asked someone for help, even though she was with another client, I was willing to wait for my turn. Instead of saying things like "sorry I'll just be a moment", she simply told me they're really busy at this time maybe come back later. Basically none of the workers look like they wanna be there. I gave this place a 2 star because it is bringing K-beauty products to a centralized place and I will probably succumb and buy something in the future for lack of alternate outlets. But I would probably do my research online and just pay for the item and leave.

Im 41 and always get compliments on how I do not look my age. I chalk it up to genetics but Im also sure having the right tools to ensure my skin stays hydrated helps. The first time I stumbled upon the Abnormal Beauty company was when they had a storefront on South Granville. And I didn't know why I went in. The lady asked me about my top concerns, which led her to recommend these two products for me. This was about a year and a half ago. And Ive replaced these products once already. Now that that location is closed, Im making the short trek to downtown. It's worth it. Overall if you're looking for something simple for your skin, try The Ordinary. Imagine the surprise when I discovered that when I check in on Yelp at the store I get a gift!!!! I was super excited to discover that the gift was a Korean brand of sheet mask! I proceed to tell her that I'm medically exempt (I was wearing a face shield & cannot wear a mask for medical reasons) She tells me that it's company policy and they do not allow medical exemptions & my shield is not acceptable. She said I can order online or stand outside the store. I was shocked & appalled by her response & asked to speak to a supervisor. I told them that I would like to shop in the store just like everyone else. I'm not sick & do not pose a threat to anyone. I inform them that their policy cannot violate the BC Human Rights commission by discriminating against their customers who have medical exemptions. I show them this poster https://bchumanrights.ca/wp-content/uploads/Mask-guidance-poster-updated-Oct-2021.pdf They both acknowledge it but dismiss by saying "i don't make the rules. We are doing what we are told" & advise me to call customer service. I told them they should inform their store manager DANIELLE GATES about exemptions so this does not happen again with any future customers. They are the only store in the mall that does not honor medical exemptions. I have been a long time customer but after my experience today, I cannot support a company that discriminates & will spend my money elsewhere

I think it's just hit or miss with who you interact with at this store. The products are always fun to look at, pricey most of the time as most cosmetics, skincare and haircare is so I tend to find better deals at the online store than in store. If you want friendly assistance I would recommend Sean to approach who has black hair and tanned skin. He was just so pleasant to interact with.

Murale offers optimum points - that's it!
