Had been through the same thing as me. Answered every question. Took his time, and most important bas helped me take steps to fix a lifelong problem. Legit don't have enough good things to say. Having weird misleading advice from other health care professionals on something at serious as this has been so discouraging. A good doctor can literally change your life. See DR. s. Homie is a legend.

Overall I'm so happy that I had a surgery with Dr Gregory Stearns and his Team (Kelly, Tina, Nick…read moreand others) for my Tonsillectomy . The procedure went smooth everything has been described in details. I shouldn't watch youtube videos on the procedure which was scary, everything was completely opposite. This was my first surgery ever and I had thousand questions about every steps and consequences after but they answered all of them with their life experience which is highly valuable. Highly recommend Kaiser and dr Stearns for the surgery with super confidence. The only thing he was so busy (guess why? :) yup, high demand) so you might have to wait but believe me it worth it. Recovery process was so much easier than I thought, didn't even use strongest drugs which was also given. Just follow rules and the schedule described at discharge paper and all be fine. To be short: Dr Stearns and his team are great professionals and they know how to do and what to do which is the most important! Great experience! Dr. Stearns is kind and smart and very polite. I highly recommended him! P.S. And don't watch scary videos every experience is different but mine was much much easier than in those videos on youtube. Thank you Gregory!

The hospital has very caring nurses who always explained to me exactly what they were giving me in the way of medication while I was at the hospital. What was the most impressive was Dr. Grove's respect and consideration for my religious choices. He reassured me that he could accomplish what was needed without the use of whole blood products and he did just so! I healed much quicker than I expected, with minimal pain and he released me from his care within a month of a complicated, serious surgical procedure. I will be moving out of state soon yet if I ever need surgery again, I would return to San Diego North County just to have Dr. Grove help me again. Thanks so much, Dr. Grove! You are a keeper!

Dr. Grove is a wonderful doctor with a very pleasant bedside manner. I felt comfortable with his…read moreassessment and surgical plan for me. He made me feel at ease and I am fortunate that he was my surgeon. However, the rest of the staff at MISNC treated me unprofessionally and very poorly- the worst of which was Melanie, Dr. Grove's medical assistant. Even though my PCP put the referral in as urgent, it still took almost a month just for a consultation because, and I quote, "How do we know you have a hernia? If you're in pain you should just go to the ER and you won't even have to come here." Back and forth with my PCP about the surgeon "not having my note" and no diagnostic ultrasound was ordered. My PCP said they would order it. The surgeons medical assistant said he won't see me until I have one. So they were just going to make me wait one-two-three- four weeks for just a consultation. They wouldn't even let me make an appointment with the doctor just to talk to him!!!! PCP calls me back and orders the ultrasound. Then and only then did they finally make me an appointment. Three weeks of being told "they don't have the notes" and "doctor hasn't read my notes" to "how are we supposed to know you have a hernia? Just go to the ER." Got scheduled for surgery a month after consultation- mind you they are supposed to call within 72 hours for urgent or 7-14 business days for routine. THREE WEEKS LATER, I finally call their scheduler and ask what's going on- get a bunch of excuses about they're busy and booked up until the end of January. My referral was initially entered to consult with surgeon in the middle of October. Surgery referral was approved 11/20. She finally calls me back and apologized and offers me Dec. 11th. I had my surgery yesterday and everything went well, Dr. Grove was fantastic and did a great job. Fast forward to today and the wound is bleeding some and I'm having massive pain upon ambulation. Post op nurse at the hospital advised me to stop taking the ibuprofen and call surgeon ASAP. I called and left message. An hour later the MA calls me back and once again- her only words of advice were "Since you're in pain with bleeding you should just go to the ER." Twice now she's pawned me off saying not their problem- I should just go to ER. No different meds or anti-inflammatories. No office visit to check sutures. Just go to the ER. I tell you, I've never been treated so poorly as a patient in all of my 36 years. I've had children and this was my fourth overall surgery. Dr. Grove, your office staff does not do you justice. I have no desire to go back for my two week post op visit. I have no faith whatsoever in the staff at MISNC. If I wasn't under an HMO, in pain, and just wanting to get this over with, I would have definitely gone somewhere else. They obviously "were busy" and made me feel discarded and like a nuisance. ***Fast forward to July 2020. Horrific episode of nausea and vomiting. See PCP via telehealth after finding a protrusion at surgery site from Dr. Grove 12/2019. She recommended a new surgeon when informed about poor experience here. Saw a new surgeon less than one week later who is going to fix the now incarcerated recurrent ventral hernia, wish I was not in this position. Never once did I have to play phone tag with new office. Surgery scheduled next Monday to finally fix what should have been done with Dr. Grove. Sad about my overall experience here and wish it didn't have to warrant a second surgery to fix what he quoted were "indestructible sutures."

I have been working with Sydney for the past couple of months and she's been awesome. She'll find the trigger points to my pain, with on it for a bit and then give me a workout to strengthen whatever issues I have.
