I have been seeing him for a little over two years now, and his care has truly helped me through a tough time. Being young with MS and all the unpredictable muscle pain it has caused me has been difficult. Dr. Brizzie has given me immense pain relief and has significantly improved my quality of life I never thought would be possible. I can do so much more now. I was struggling with this from 2021 until 2023 until I found him that year. The pain after the second Moderna vaccine was unbearable for me. He was the only one to take my pain seriously, and I will never forget that. He actually listens, really listens, and shows care for his patients. Highly intelligent yet humble. That is pretty rare. He is proactive, kind, patient, and always makes you feel heard. I am ever grateful to him for helping me get my upper body pain and muscle pain significantly reduced. The trigger point injections have relieved my pain like nothing else has and given me the freedom to enjoy life without constantly worrying about it. When you struggle, it has been such a relief to have a provider show compassion. He is the best, truly amazing, and I am very thankful. Fusion Physical Medicine's whole atmosphere gives off zen vibes and tranquility. His practice is so peaceful and warm. It's very clean and comfortable. Everyone is extremely kind here from the staff to the nurses. I cannot say enough good things! Unlike how a stressful hospital environment can be, the vibe here is calm and comforting. Plus you do not have to wait forever. This place is such a gem in California.

From the start, Dr. Layson showed incredible flexibility in seeing me quickly and took great care in evaluating my condition. What impressed me most was his diligence--he even ordered additional imaging right before surgery to fully understand the extent of my patella fracture. That extra step gave me confidence, and I know it made a difference in the outcome of my surgery. Danielle was consistently attentive, professional, and kind, making the whole process much less stressful. I also want to recognize the Carlsbad Surgery Center, where my procedure took place. Every single person I encountered was warm, informative, and supportive. They made me feel comfortable at each step, explained everything clearly, and followed up with a thoughtful note after my surgery. That personal touch meant a lot during recovery. I'm deeply grateful to Dr. Layson, Danielle, and the entire surgery center team for their expertise and compassion. They turned what could have been a very difficult experience into one where I felt cared for and supported at every step.

I was referred here by an orthopedic hand specialist for physical therapy to address hand pain I've…read morehad for several months, with MRI findings showing inflammation along a tendon sheath. From the start, the experience was disappointing. The front desk and billing staff were rude and unhelpful. When I asked a basic question about payment, the billing person actually said to me, "Did you not hear me?" -- which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. That interaction alone should have been a warning sign. My therapist, Tanya, spent very little time explaining my condition and offered almost nothing in terms of actual treatment. Her entire recommendation was to use ice daily and take fish oil and follow up as needed. When I asked if they could help address inflammation in therapy, she said they "only offer ice" and that ultrasound or other treatments would be a "waste of my time." No exercises, no manual therapy, no modalities, no handout, no individualized care -- nothing. I brought my concerns to the manager, Marc, and he simply backed her up, saying the clinic "only offers ice" for inflammation. That told me everything I needed to know about their approach. I left feeling completely dismissed, with no confidence in their competence or professionalism. This place does not provide the kind of thoughtful, evidence-based, or patient-centered care you would expect from a specialty clinic. I strongly recommend going elsewhere if you actually want help.

I self-treat all my injuries (thinking I'm some amazing doctor) but when push comes to shove, I…read morecan't self-treat everything. If it wasn't for me needing both feet to work, I'd probably still self-treat until my foot fell off. By the time I finally gave in to seeing an ortho, it was worse than I expected. I was very happy with the ortho I saw within the OSNC network and decided to use their physical therapists to continue treatment. Here's how scheduling works: 1. You call their main office 2. They fit you in to one of their two PT offices (vista and oside) based on availability with your schedule and their schedule. 3. Appointment confirmed Seems simple, right? Apparently, it's not that easy. I made an appointment for 6pm tonight and arrived early (as requested to fill out paperwork). I get it, I've working in outpatient PT before, I've treated patients...I know how this works. As I walk in, one therapist is leaving. One therapist is treating a patient. There is no one at the check-in desk, and it looks like the place is about to close for the night. A very sweet PT Aide (Angel) approaches me, seems confused about my appointment. Apparently, there's no record of any appointment for me. All they have a record of is my initial appointment with their ortho. That's it. Let's pour salt into an open wound now....and my therapist can't see me. Her 6pm patient is here. So, I'm there. No appointment. Fought traffic. Arranged childcare...and I'm not being seen. Angel tried her hardest to reschedule me, but between my busy schedule, their schedules, they close early on Fridays...it just seemed pointless. It's clear something was not entered into whatever appointment system they are using....or attempt to use. This incident isn't a reflection on the quality of the therapists or their aides. It's a reflection on the administration in the scheduling office. Since I've lost all faith in their scheduling system, I won't be back.

If I could give this clinic a ZERO I would. Dr. David Amory administered my mom's cortisone…read moreinjection too fast and it caused my mom to go to the ER. My mom felt like she wanted to faint, had shortness of breath, and her face was numb- 5 min. after leaving her appt. While still at the parking lot I asked for help and the MA and the DR. did not take the time to access her/take vital signs. The doctor seemed upset that he was pulled from clinic and stated everything that she was feeling was normal (which it was not-Per ER MD). My mom was lethargic and unresponsive for about 1 min and started to vomit. (She was presenting ALL of the signs for a stroke) I told him that I didn't think it was normal and his response was "what do you want me to do? call the ambulance or do you want to drive her to the ER? it's around the corner." I stated call the ambulance she is not ok. but as I noticed the MA nor the doctor were taking this incident serious and had no empathy I decided that my mom needed to be taken to the ER-so I asked my dad to drive her since we had arrived in 2 separate cars, and I would meet them there after informing the front desk we would drive her ourselves. Not once were her vitals taken at the time of visit nor at the parking lot while she complained of shortness of breath. They made us feel like they did not care for what was happening with my mom. The only thing the MA did was provide me with a water bottle and an ice pack because I mentioned my mom felt like she was going to faint. The MD did not come outside until the 3rd time the MA grabbed him. I had to run to the front desk to inform them not to call the ambulance because we were taking her to the ER. The front desk seemed more concerned than Dr. Amory's MA and the doctor. While we were also in the room waiting for my mom to be seen before all this happened you could hear the doctor jumping from one room to another. Going back and forth seeing other patients. When he administered my moms injection he seemed like he was in a hurry-to were I even mentioned to him " wow that was super quick you are a pro". his response was " I've been doing this for a long time ". He put my moms life at risk. She was admitted to the ER because he did not administered the injection correctly. The ER could not get her BP to go up, it was very low. She developed a fever, severe stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Her white blood count was very high and her troponin levels were high as well. She also developed an infection due to the injection. She fainted again in the ER and was lethargic and weak. The admitting doctor stated this was all due to the cortisone injection that was not administered correctly. It was injected into her blood stream. If I would have listened to the doctor saying " it was normal" and I would have taken my mom home. My mom wouldn't be here with us now. He put my moms life at risk and did not care. All of this is very upsetting because this was negligence at all levels and malpractice. Dr. Amory's actions show how inhumane he can be and how he does not care for his patients. He is very unprofessional and has no empathy. As a medical professional you want to make sure you treat your patient and you want to be sure to access your patients when they are not feeling well, not assume "it's normal" when clearly things are not normal. HE took my moms medical emergency very irresponsibly and did nothing to make sure my mom was ok. on the contrary he was bothered that he was called outside to "help" (which he did not do). He had an attitude and made me feel like he did not care. To end my note- I requested my moms medical records and most of the things he wrote on my moms medical record are not true. His statement is false when he states he discussed " Different options were discussed with the patient" no options were discussed. He also states in his note "staff and myself went out to the car to assess the patient" "she was breathing normally...We called 911 to have an ambulance brought. We did give vital signs to 911 operator. We noticed that the patient, however, was leaving. The patient and her family drove off in a car" This is all false. He never assessed my mom and vital signs were never taken during or after presenting complications- what vital signs were given? if no vitals were taken by him nor MA at all?? Lastly we left in 2 separate cars because my dad drove my mom there and I met my mom there to translate. How did we leave in one car? The front desk was notified by me that we were leaving because they took forever to call an ambulance for my mom. As a doctor you assess your patient! Why do you have to ask your patient or her family if we want him to call an ambulance knowing well enough your patient was unresponsive with stroke symptoms? As a Doctor-all of this is wrong at all levels and is unacceptable. I will not be taking my mom to this location ever again. He should not be a doctor if he is not following his OATH as a Doct

When he moved to San Diego, I had to transition to another doctor, and unfortunately my back progressively worsened over time. Eventually, I felt completely out of options and decided to book an appointment to see Dr. Evangelista again--driving down to San Diego specifically to see him at San Diego Orthobiologics Medical Group. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. He immediately identified a significant change on my recent MRI compared to my previous imaging--something that could clearly explain my rapidly increasing pain. His attention to detail and clinical insight were impressive, but what truly sets him apart is his integrity and honesty. Instead of recommending a procedure at his own practice, he referred me to his former colleague who specializes in the treatment that would be most beneficial for me right now, even though he could not perform it himself. That level of selflessness and patient-first care is incredibly rare in medicine. The facility itself is excellent--very clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and you feel comfortable and cared for from the moment you walk in. I also truly believe in what they are doing there; they are clearly focused on the most up-to-date procedures and technology, and it shows in how knowledgeable and forward-thinking the team is. I will absolutely be back there in the future, but I am genuinely grateful that Dr. Evangelista sent me to the right place for my immediate needs at the time. That speaks volumes about his character and commitment to doing what is best for his patients. Dr. Evangelista truly takes the time to think through each patient's situation, explain options, and guide you through difficult decisions with empathy and clarity. I trust him 100%, and I am so grateful to have him as part of my care team again. If you are dealing with spine or orthopedic issues and want a doctor who is brilliant, ethical, and truly cares about his patients, Dr. Evangelista is the one to see.

(He had previously operated on a couple of my friends.) His suggestions were conservative care due to my age. (Mid 50s and 2 fusions already. This fusion would fusion 3 levels to repair the one level that failed.) His concern was that I have a 20 year old fusion that could fail someday since the usual life of a fusion is 10 years. He didn't want to see me with my neck totally fused by my mid 60s. He suggested keeping my eye out for new procedures. He was right. Now there is an injection available to help plump up the disc often saving a person from a fusion. There is a reason that Dr. Alleyne was just one of 50 surgeons appointed to the board of the National Spine Health Foundation in 2022. But no... i had to have those 2 EXPENSIVE MRI tests both with and without contrast. He said it PROVED NO TUMOR but needed the most complex surgery with multiple fusions/cage etc using that Mazor Robot he requires to do surgeries. NOW i wonder if that is due to his ineptitude? But do a YouTube search for Mazor Lumbar Surgery. It is utterly BARBARIC compared to the same surgery for this same set of fusions a few years prior that went PERFECTLY. BUT this man ( i will NEVER refer to him as doctor or surgeon!) PERMANENTLY ENDED LIFE AS I KNEW IT when he butchered me. The complications came INSTANTLY and he tried to have me transferred to a nursing home as i was unable to even stand much less walk. I suppose he had a commission for that as well... I was FORCED to sign myself out of Hospital AMA because he refused to release me! My primary care doctor INSTANTLY began finding errors and problems with this surgery. You see he DID find my tumor i told him was my problem. His own words were " it is the BIGGEST TUMOR i have ever seen in my career, larger than a huge grapefruit". Well his next CRIMINAL NEGLIGENT ACT was going ahead and still doing the NOT NEEDED FUSIONS with that barbaric robot. On my 65 year ild body. FAR too invasive for my age... next criminally negligent act ACCORDING TO HIS OWN HOSPITALS INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY DEPT? They explained it was purely criminal to knowingly close me up with a now FOOTBALL size gaping hole in my lumbar spine/back. It developed a HUGE Seroma. Bloody fluid and guts that could kill me untreated. So the cure? MONTHS of weekly visits back to the Cancer Radiology to have them try injecting PAINFUL BEYOND WORDS CHEMICALS into me trying in vain to close this huge, cavernous s open hole inside me. and let not forget my copay EACH WEEK of over $200.00! After months and nearing financial bankruptcy with ME now suicidal i explained to the hospital to find me another surgeon to FIX this or i would just end this miserable life i now had. It took 2 MOTE surgeries by 2 different Surgeons to fix the hole left inside me... by the way. Alleyne never ONCE followed up or offered ANY help. Oh and the kicker? For pain guess what he did for me? Suggested i take TYLENOL! My primary dr BEGGED me to rightfully sue for Malpractice. But this all drug on too long for me to be within the time frame allowed! TriCity Hospital has just informed me they are REVOKING his surgical privileges and calling it his RETIREMENT due to many failed recent surgeries. His MALPRACTICE lawsuits are now beginning to show up online as well. For God's sake, for YOUR sake, avoid ANY contact with this ender of lives. Because i have now spent my entire life in a wheelchair since his April2014 Butchery of my LIFE that completely died thanks to him. Sold my 4wd truck, my 4 Motorcycled, Surfboards, ocean AND white water Kayaks. And i began a life sitting in this chair since. The ONLY time i have ever left this home interior was to go to monthly Pain Management or Doctor appointments... the nightmare of Opioid Pan Drugs began as my life faded away. EVERYTHING ended for myself and wife the day we met this slick incompetent would be (but never WILL be) any sort of qualified medical professional. All for a BARBARIC version of a surgery i had ALREADY had done perfectly just a few years prior. Lastly. It is the most incompetent office staff ever assembled! If they answer tour call never expect any resolution to your query. If you leave any voice mail? FORGET any sort of response. Run. Just RUN!

I was referred out to an Orthopedist. Dr. Afra was the 2nd one I saw and although apprehensive due to my fellow Yelpsters review of him and the office staff, I decided to go with him after reading his bio and my online research of him. In my 1st visit, he provided me more information than I had the entire year in understanding my situation and how to move forward. He did not recommend surgery immediately but took time to have me go through more conservative treatment to see if my particular injury would get better. It didn't. I did end up having surgery after all but only after other options had been exhausted. Post surgery, I can say that although I'm obviously still healing and am not pain free, Dr. Afra is an exceptional surgeon and his guidance and treatment plan was what was best for me. I am continuing to see Dr. Afra for other areas of injury and can at least see a light at the end of this dark tunnel where I felt I may never get better. He IS pretty straight forward and does not sugar coat what he says but I prefer directness when it comes to my health. The entire office staff has been great, including Elvina at the front desk whose also pretty no nonsense, which again, I prefer.
