My dog has boarded at Animal Ark every Christmas for 6 years. She is crazy to see me again, for sure, but I always ask them to let her go to "camp" and play with other dogs during the day. I've changed groomers due to my dog being mistreated at a previous groomer. I took her to animal arc once prior and it was an amazing experience maybe her second visit was bad because Darlene cut her right underneath her eye when I called to ask about it I was told to come back so she can take a look at it because she couldn't believe she cut her ! When I got back to the clinic we were asked why were we there and I said to speak with Darlene and the young man at the front desk was very rude (11/4/25) When my dog seen Darlene she immediately started shaking and hiding from Darlene and whining . I asked her did she see the cut when we left and she still continued to say she might have so I asked for the manager she thought I wasn't going to come back and that it would be brushed away. She finally admitted that she did cut my dogs eye and continued to not take accountability. I did not want my money back. I genuinely just wanted an explanation and was concerned due to her acting, oblivious on the phone and once I returned, she was very rude.Becky is the manager and was very kind and understanding (even offered a credit) but I just rather not have my dog somewhere that makes both of us uneasy . Please, don't bring your pet to the groom. Every time when I would pick my dog up from the groom, he would act traumatized as if someone had abused him. I had no proof of it, but he would be normal before I would take him to the groom. I like the job that they did with his haircut but not his personality. read more

A AMERICAN BULLY , they kept confusing him with a pitbull an seemed scare idk why cause my dog never bites an he's a big teddy bear that don't know his own size at times. I brought my Jackapoo puppy to them for the first time yesterday to get shampoo, nails, and sanitary trim. My husband told me that he always brought his moms dogs here and his so i thought why not. Although I love the quality of grooming work done at the animal ark, customer service could be improved. I've been bringing my dog here for about four years and he looks so adorable when he leaves, yet I'm always torn on finding another groomer based on the friendliness of the grooming staff when I drop my dog off. From the time I call in and book my appointment to the time I walk in the resort staff at the front desks are friendly and welcoming. They call grooming staff out when you arrive. From that point there is no hello, smile, welcome back, etc. I love my dog and want to feel safe dropping him off in their care. I do realize this can be a difficult job at times but that's why we have specialist in this line of work who are trained to assist with this task. Hopefully this review is taken into consideration and I am able to update my review. Until then, two and a half stars it is. read more

We dropped our pups off here and they promised the world and delivered nothing! We came home a day early and picked them up, there was urine and feces all over there cage and them., one of our dogs had some green goo matting his eyes closed and the other one was a bit timid to come to me. We asked them how often they attended to our pets and their response was, "I don't know, I just got here", I'm gonna say it's safe to say they were ignored for the 4 days we boarded them. After years of bringing my gentle, deaf dog here I was informed today he was being 'kicked out' of group playtime for viciously attacking another dog. I was refused proof (they have video cameras on at all time so should have been easy). Was told they have continued to charge me for group daycare my last several visits, despite 'knowing he doesn't enjoy it and just sits at the door'. I've been Told at every pickup he did great. Was charged for extra feedings he did not get and walks I did not consent to. The woman literally snatched my card off the counter and ran it herself while I was arguing with the daycare manager, despite knowing I was challenging some of the charges. Another woman refunded some of it after but no apology or admission of guilt occurred, just 'I'll refund what you don't want to pay for since you said you're never coming back'. I have actually been overcharged my last few visits. Was spoken to like a low life because they insisted my dog behaved aggressively unprovoked. Will not be returning. I spend thousands a year at this place and will never again. They lost my business years ago after one of my dogs got kennel cough and a $400 vet bill to go with it, and another of my dogs got fleas I had to treat out of my own pocket. I decided to give them another chance but NEVER again. read more

Do not leave your dog here. Left our pup for four days and she and all of her toys came back wreaking of urine/feces. It seems as if she was just left in a cage the whole time with not enough bathroom breaks or attention paid to her. She typically does great in a crate and never has any accidents while crated so I can only imagine how much time went with her caged at this facility. She also came back with almost all her food back so I doubt they fed her often. Only left her here as a last minute need came up, but we will never be bringing her back again. read more

Boarded my dog for 4 days and when I picked him up and he smelt like urine. His bag of toys smelt like urine which indicates to me that they let him just lay in his own urine for who knows how long. My dog is also potty trained and doesn't potty where he sleeps. read more

I took our Giant Schnauzer here for some maintenance grooming. We were able to walk in and get his face and ears cleaned up in about 20 minutes. I was nervous since this was his first experience at a grooming facility, but our groomer Darlene did a fantastic job letting him warm up to her. He willingly walked back with her and she gave him lots of treats and praise when they were done. I was so pleased with how well he did for his first experience and we will be back to schedule his full spa day of grooming this spring! read more

We left both of our dogs for 10 days at animal Ark pet resort. Both dogs were in good health when we delivered them to the kennel. When we returned to retrieve our dogs, everything seem to be just fine. However, when we returned home, after about an hour, both dogs had diarrhea. I can understand one dog being sick, but both? Something is wrong. Needless to say, we will never board our they are again. Also, their staff could've been a little better in their people skills. NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

Very unhappy with the owners of this business. They made our concern about the lack of communication with the grooming staff and the front desk staff something personal and did not handle with any concern to their customer. The owner of this business told me the customer after writing a semi negative remark about the service issues we continued to have this owner never once reached out to us to see if we can find a solution. Instead he told us to never return. Actually, he had a staff member say it. We have never as much as said one word to him or had any conversations with this person. Not all staff members were a problem only a couple. We are so disappointed with his behavior. read more

This was the first time we've used a kennel so we were concerned about how she'd handle it, but she was happy and relaxed when we picked her up. i use to experience better from them after going to the groomer for over 20 years ,until this past May. I took my yorkie poo for a hair cut bath and groomed ,which they know my dog when i walk in with him . in fact they tell me most of time he gets oat meal bath no perfume,husband brought him home after grooming. He must of not looked at him when he picked him up, i know my husband had a busy day, but come on ! dog had perfume on and the worse hair cut short and long in other places beard shaved off completely nothing like we ever got. i called she said did not say anything on the chart. like i said I come in your store and you tell me all the time. i said its in your computer somewhere. i complained about a hair cut first time in twenty years. meaning i took our other dog there too before Harley. well she made me feel like a liar. I told husband not going there again. he said, get your money back.the lady manager saying all this to me said bring him back,. she would fix, so, i took him back she did make him look a lot better. he stop scratching from perfume. I told her what my husband said on getting money back for the first job done and back and forth trips .she said i'll give you money back but you can't come here anymore, I told her i wasn't coming back anyways the way she made me feel . This place is horrible there customer service is not the best and I left my dog here to board and when I picked him up he was whining as if he was in pain I contacted this facility and let them know that once my pet left there care he was not doing well they never apologize or showed concern they just told me to bring in his vet visit and they would pay for it. The manager Stacy is very nasty and unprofessional she told me that they noted in my chart that I called several times and asked about coupons and that I got upset when they could not provide any which is not true she also told me my dog could not return to get any services because of this issue. Maybe it's because I was spoiled taking my dog to a boarding place in Colorado that won Best Facility, customer appreciation, and Best Animal Care for over three years running, but I did NOT like Animal Ark. It's extremely chaotic and no one seems willing to help unless you seek them out. I had to leave my pet there for 7 nights even after my gut said not to. It was horrible. After a few nights I called to check on my pet and they had no idea who I was speaking about until they looked him up in the system. Animal Ark should know who the names of their pets that are staying long term. After waiting on hold a while and being treated as if i was disturbing them at work they came back with a very generic he is eating and going to the bathroom fine and left me no room for anymore questions. When I picked him up my dog was depressive and had lost so much weight I could tell right off! His nose fur was rubbed cleaned and very swollen as if he wore a muzzel most of his visit ( bc I told them he is dog aggressive.) The staff looks very young like cheap high school hire and have no animal experience! I would not recommend this place for boarding and I hope this helps your decision making process. We would have never got such bad service at our usual place. He loves it there and they genuinely care about him. But NOT Animal Ark. On another note soon after picking our dog up I needed to give him a dose of his emergencies only anxiety meds to get him to calm down from stress. read more

Over the past 10+ years, we've brought our dogs here for boarding. Sometimes 1 dog at a time, sometimes 2 of them together in the kennel. Although it's impossible to know exactly what happens after you leave, my dogs always seem fine when we pick them up, no health issues later either. When we drop them off, they allow us to walk them back to their kennel. The cages throughout always seem clean. I've seen a lot of complaints about the people at the front desk, but we have personally never had any issues with them. The rates here cannot be beat compared to other local boarding kennels. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. Kona always comes out of their facility looking happy, clean and smelling great. I've used Animal Ark for grooming, boarding, and their Tiny Paws Play time. I've been there literally at least once a week for over a year and they are pretty awesome. Some of the staff are kinda young and on a very brief occasion a little confused but they love my dog and she loves them. I have no complaints and I'm sure if I did they would take care of them. I tried the Red Dog pet resort a few times and my dog hated it. She always came back obviously disheveled and I've never had that experience with Ark at all. read more

We have taken our pit mix here twice for nail trim because she is so strong that two of us holding her down doesn't work and we have taken her a few places that wouldn't complete her nails because she started to get aggressive. This place has no issue handling larger dogs and has had no complaints to us about her. I had a sudden onset 24 hour medical event whereby I had to go into the hospital icu. I Used to travel, and used them regularly, but now I rarely travel. I knew the owner lady when she started the business in Mt Healthy. I got vaccination records, from vet then rushed my dog there, around noon, then couldn't find the records. They were in my pocket but I couldn't find them. I was in a very serious medical crisis and needed to get back to the hospital. They took her anyway and called Noah's Ark to fax the records rather than make me go back. I really didn't have time to go back. It was a very serious matter. I cannot thank them enough. I left with tears in my eyes as I left my two dogs for two and a half days. It sucked leaving them in a kennel but I had no choice. I opted for several walks, a bath and nails before I returned. I should have kept looking. The only reason for the 2 star review is that Lori (small dog area) was so kind and because my dog looked happy when they brought him out to me. But the front desk staff, especially the gal who so rudely told me that they do not feed lunch to the day care dogs, really needs a lot of polish with customer service skills. I had a unique case. We're traveling. My dog does not eat in the morning. He just won't. So I took about a cup of food since I knew I'd be gone until about 6:00 pm. When I picked him up around 6, I asked if he'd eaten lunch. The response? "I don't know and they're gone for the day." Seriously? So my dog may have gone all day without food, but your only suggestion is to call back in the morning and ask? Has no one there thought aboutva report card for the animal? I SO miss Gilbert Dogs 24/7 in Arizona. I'll choose Petsmart over this place in the future. And it's sad. I visit family near this place and had really hoped to find a place as good as what we have back home in Arizona. This isn't it. Best of luck.
