Worst neurologist I have ever had the displeasure of going to. My anesthesiologist(certified in…read morepain management) suspected I had trigeminal neuralgia(an extremely painful neurological condition in which one or more blood vessels presses on the trigeminal nerve, which is the 5th cranial nerve and causes electric shock like pain that is excruciating). Anything can trigger the pain-it actually started with my upper left, last tooth and the pain radiated up(that's how my doctor, dentist and oral surgeon knew it wasn't a dental problem). I couldn't touch or wash my face without a pain trigger, I couldn't sleep or have the wind blow on that side of my face and so on. Actually they call it the suicide disease because the pain is so horrible(and doesn't respond to narcotics) some people would kill themselves! My pain management doctor referred me to a neurologist. Sadly the neurologist he referred me to didn't accept my insurance so I went to my primary care doctor to get a referral to the neurologist he sends his patients to. Well I would have been better off paying out of pocket going to the neurologist my pain management doctor referred me to. Dr Entin had to be the worst doctor I had ever been to(to this day)! He didn't ask me if I had any symptoms of trigemnial neuralgia(I am going to refer to it as TN from here on out) and the ONLY reason why I went to see him. I get tension headaches but they are treated by my pain doctor, yet Dr Entin decided he wanted to talk about the whole appointment. Anyway he did those usual neuro tests and ordered an MRI and an EEG. After the first AND only appointment I NEVER heard from him again, not even to get the MRI results back. He messed up big time because the MRI place not only sent the results to him, but they sent the results to me as well(at my request( for a small fee.Turns out I did indeed have TN and it was a pretty bad case of it. My pain management doctor found another(amazing) neurologist that took my insurance, took one look at the MRI that Dr Entin(probably didn't even look at let alone call me with the results) and told me I had Trigeminal Neuralgia. The new neurologist put me on a couple of medications which unfortunately didn't work for my pain(and they had side effects that left a lot to be desired). So he tried another combination of medications which again didn't work and had bad side effects. So he then referred me to the best neurosurgeon in the tri-state area. I ended up having surgery which was a success. If only this inept Dr Entin got back to me about the MRI I wouldn't have had to suffer for as long as I did(I called him numerous times, my mother even called him numerous times). We EVEN went down to the office but he refused to see us..I don't what we did to piss him off, I was NOTHING but nice to him and did whatever test he ask me to do and he never got back to me. My mom thought maybe he was busy or on vacation, but after two months of not hearing a damn thing from him all ties were cut from him and I am glad I did because he was nothing but a jerk. DO NOT see this doctor, not even for migraines or cluster headaches hell I wouldn't see him for a glass of water.

I hate to call this guy a 'doctor' he's more like a jerk!!! Took my 85 yr old mom to him because…read moreshe was slurring her speech, after running some tests, he told us there is nothing wrong with her!! He said she was slurring her words because she was tired and she should carry around a tissue so when she got too much saliva in her mouth she could wipe it out!!! Now does this make sense??! You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know when your body is telling you something is wrong. I took her to two real doctors who ran further testing and she was diagnosed with the early onset of ALS! Can you believe!! I called this jerk up and confronted him, he was so smug and said I'm sorry what do you want me to do?? He didn't give a crap, by the way, his office staff is just as incompetent as he is!! This guy should lose his medical license. NEVER USE THIS A HOLE, he shouldn't be aloud to practice medicine anymore!

Although their website lists Dr. Branden Brar, including his photo, as the oral surgeon who treats patients at that Melville office, the oral surgeon who actually performed the extraction on me matched the image of a different oral surgeon by the name of Dr. Ross Chavkin whom the website lists as the founder of this organization. So, assuming the website accurately paired Dr. Chavkin with this image, he is the oral surgeon who performed the extraction. At the outset, I am not a person who fears dentists. In fact, except for root canal treatment, gum surgery and extractions (all of which are part my dental history), I always refuse any local anesthesia for minor dental procedures such as drilling cavities, scaling and so on because I prefer tolerating the brief moments of nerve pain (each lasting only a fraction of a second) to the approximate three hour period of annoying numbness before the anesthesia completely wears off. Although not important to me, I found Dr. Chavkin's demeanor to be not particularly personable. Except as mentioned below, he didn't speak to me at any other time during the procedure. I give Dr. Chavkin's performance at extracting teeth a poor rating. He is not gentle. He lacks finesse. He is not careful at minimizing injury to surrounding gum tissue when using the extraction tool. Perhaps he is aware of his lack of manual dexterity and relies on gum surgery to repair the damaged tissue. Although I have undergone several extractions over the years, most of them did not require any gum surgery (stiches). Dr. Chavkin essentially butchered my gum during both extractions, requiring stiches. His extraction of my top front tooth was particularly carelessly performed in that he nearly completely severed a piece of gum tissue in order to make it easier for him to grasp the tooth with the extraction tool. In fact, he cut so far up from the base of the gum that the incision reached a location that was not completely anesthetized, causing me to experience intense pain. In addition, my gum apparently began bleeding profusely because he asked me if I'm sure I didn't take any blood thinning medication, to which I answered "yes." As of the date of this writing, May 4, 2025, I still feel a nerve sensation (albeit not painful) when I apply pressure to the top of my lip over the location of that incision, which evidences nerve damage. I am writing this review because I feel morally obligated to inform potential patients of my experience.
