Stumbled upon this butcher shop type of market while looking for a store selling ribeye and I'm so blown away by the quality! Now I'm no steak connoisseur, but I've had my fair share of premium, high quality steaks and after tonight's dinner, I can say this was one of the best at-home ribeyes I've ever had! I took home two 1" Angus Prime Ribeyes with AMAZING marbling. They also had American Wagyu ribeye and spicy marinated crab that I'll have to try next time. The employee who helped me threw in a free small deli container of kimchi! He was kind and helpful, despite some of the reviews saying they experienced poor service. The kimchi was delicious and spicy. I also decided to pickup some pickled squid, which is definitely an acquired taste. It's a flavor bomb of spicy, salty, and briny. I stopped by on a Friday at 5pm and I was the only customer in the store and it seemed like they had most of their selections in stock. Their soup refrigerator was also fully stocked, as well as the other fridge of side dishes, soju, and beers. Angus Meat Market is located at the end of the plaza behind Carls Jr on El Camino.

I'm glad I was able to MEAT this store! Jokes aside, this was a nice and clean meat market. Usually when I buy my meats, I would go to my local grocery market but I decided to venture out and spend a little more on a higher quality cut of meat. Although I was expecting meat, there were a lot of other Korean dishes and sides which I enjoyed. At the time I went, they had a sale on their spicy marinated raw crab which I obviously had to get. I ended up getting two cuts of the American Wagyu NY Strip and they were THICC. There was a 20% sale on one of the strips but there was no additional discount on the second strip which I thought was interesting. I also ended up getting a bowl of short rib soup which came frozen. If you spend more than $30, you can get a free side so I decided on the fish cake. I made one of the cuts for lunch and it had a good amount of fattiness and tasted amazing. Their spicy crab was definitely more on the spicer side but it tasted fresher compared to the ones I had. Overall, this was a decent meat market filled with Korean dishes so I'll be frequenting here whenever I need higher quality meats.

Wagyu Shabu Meat, ~$63 for 2 containers (each container has about 1.2 pounds)

After reading ALL the raving reviews about the great selection, top-notch quality, and amazing service at Angus Meat Market, a Korean butcher shop, I decided to skip going to the market and come here instead. I guess I went on an very off day because it was a disappointing experience. I called several days in advance and asked if a pre-order was needed since it was the holidays. I was told, "no" and to just come in. I got there early in the morning just in case. Arrived to no line - yay! BUT... The butcher case was nearly empty. Like "End of Day" empty. One side was completely empty and the other side had several pieces of boneless short ribs. I asked about fresh meat for shabu and was told it's only for BBQ. I was open to any recs but the guy wasn't receptive, nor helpful. Since I made the drive there, I decided to just grab two containers of frozen wagyu for shabu; around $63 for two containers (similar marbling/quality to Mitsuwa and Marukai but at higher prices). Before being rung up, I asked if they had marinated raw crab available (shelf was empty). He said, they don't have time to make any. Ok, no problem. I paid and said, "Thank you". I know voices can be muffled with masks on so I made sure to raise my voice when thanking him. *Crickets* I much rather support a small business over a market chain but not with the slim pickings and cold service.

Bone marrow and wagyu steak

We were in search for quality meat and found it by searching in yelp. They usually have a limited stock, but if you call and check their supply. I called beforehand to check and they had what I wanted. Meat quality is excellent. Got the wagyu steak and bone marrow. Delicious. Definitely recommend if you're looking for quality meat.

My favorite butcher place for Korean bbq meats. At the moment they didn't have all the meats on display as they normally did prior to covid. Had to show them my pics of what i would normally buy, and they sliced it for me from the back. Super good quality meats always.

Came here to pick up some short rib Wagyu beef and it was fair priced, got 1.02 lbs for ~$47. There are a lot of options for meat and specialty cuts. We were able to pick 1 side dish from the fridge as complementary and went with the fish cake

Soup- sorry don't remember what it is called but this is REALLY good
Susan C.

A coworker told me about this place and I was alerted that they have home made soups that can be delivered from a service. So, I received the cabbage and short rib soup, another soup that I loved but don't remember what it is called as the label was in Korean and I can't read it =(. I also ordered the seol leong tang - which is the ox bone soup (so good). The nice thing is you can keep these home made soups in the freezer and defrost them the day you want to have it. The containers serve 2-3 people easily and that is doling out a very generous size to each person and there is more than enough left for another meal. I was told that this place is the Korean bbq butcher for meats. I plan to stop in and pick up an assortment the next time I have a yearning for Korean bbq.

Their marinated meats are super tasty too, if you love Korean BBQ and don't know how to marinate it well.

We only picked out a stable: American wagyu. The meat looked pretty good with marble through out. Surprisingly when put in hot pot it shrinks into a wrinkly ball and also turned black. I have never seen a meat like that (also we only buy hot pot meat at Nijya and their quality is great). Taste wise the meat was quite tough and stringy and has a gamy metallic after taste. In the pictures the kighter hotpot meat is from costco and the black ones is from Meat House. Costco one tasted much better. At this point im not even upset about the money spent just upset that our hot pot night was kind of ruined. Service is ok. Kind of straight forward. You picked the meat and pay and leave. I've even heard that many people take their meats on ski trips for hot pot--now that's what I call enjoying life! Highly recommend Meat House for high-quality meats that elevate your hot pot game!

It's worth the time and effort for high quality meats; here it's Japanese style meat and bbq aka yakiniku. The service is wonderful too, the owner and staff are always very personable and eager to please each time we visit for the past three years. The place is warm and clean, I appreciate the overhead vents at each table. They are able to confidently accommodate large parties to two person groups. They can get busy and full on the weekends though, so consider making reservations. My friends and I don't gorge on meat as much as we used to, but when we do, Meat Time is high on the rotation due to the high quality meats and cuts, plus Japanese style bbq. We always order the premium selection of the all you can eat menu which is $68/person. You choose the cuts you want and the servers will bring them to you for you to grill at your table. They have extra premium wagyu cuts that are priced ala carte and worth it every time. As someone who just visited Japan a few times this past year, this place is as close as you will get to authentic Japanese wagyu in the greater San Jose/Milpitas area. Hmm the yummy tender fatty melts in your mouth wagyu. There are delicious side dishes and vegetables that come with the ayce, but I don't want to focus your time on them. Taste the delicious heart attack in your mouth. Can you tell I like this place yet? If you like high quality premium meat yakiniku style, you know what time it is?

My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Personally, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially given the pricing and the many better options nearby.
