Way too small of a facility for the area served, especially with the university down the road and…read morethe plaza name alluding to it....not enough weight machines and no real free weight options, men's locker room and only 3 showers is way too small....but wait it's OK folks because they have a ton of stupid TV's to keep you occupied while you're waiting to get through your routine! I've been to the PF in Johnstown, PA and is almost triple the size of the moon township location with way more equipment, large cavernous segmented men's locker room area, has like 8 showers with each having their own private entries, yet the area is economically depressed and not a huge crowd that attends it other than the UPJ students as the PF crowd meter for the facility is mostly flatlined with a small blip on Saturday afternoons. Although Johnstown doesn't have a weird partial 24 hours M-Th schedule and they are open 5-10 M-F but have the same schedule on the weekends as Moon. I was sold and signed up when they were 24/7 but they got rid of it since and would rather get rid of the 24/7 altogether for a larger facility like the Johnstown one. I felt like the black card membership or any membership was perfectly justified using the Johnstown facility rather than the Moon township one, I would go to that facility gleefully if it weren't like 2 hours away. The moon township facility makes no damn sense whatsoever. What moon has I would expect to be in Johnstown and what is there I'd expect in a place like Moon for the amount of people served daily.

It hasn't been too crowded, thankfully. They over organize the swimming, as I have one son that likes to swim by himself and it's over kill scheduling him 1 hour at a time. I'm just thankful he can go there. My one concern is if you work in the city and don't get home until 6 pm....swimming options are limited and if that's your thing, evaluate carefully. They have many other things going on there, but we are still scratching the surface. Benefits outweigh the costs!

Worst gym I've ever been to…read more This was the case before the 2025 renovations. It's worsened since then. They've got 40 treadmills, of which only ten are ever occupied. They have a lot of often unoccupied weight machines as well. These two assets are positioned on the inside of a running track, while the room with some other machines and all of the free weights is separate. In the weight room, they removed nearly all the good weight benches and replaced them with a bizarre variety which are too high for most men and have unstable pads (imagine benching without digging your feet in while the pad under you wobbles. They're dangerous). They removed several of the most popular machine extensions for seemingly no reason, including a long rope handle that was nearly always in use. They do not have a proper squat setup (with a padded floor) anywhere. They have a few extra djanky setups, like a rowing handle connector which is in fact just a carabiner which is forced into an angle by the machine connector and does not allow an attached handle to be held naturally. Shortly after the terrible renovations and gear shift which significantly degraded the quality of the gym, they put some big old ads up on 65. I guess it's supposed to be an improvement. I'm still in awe at how they made it worse. I don't know who's making the decisions but they seem to be somehow unaware of how their customers use their weight and cardio equipment. Demand and supply are whack (popular equipment is swamped and a lot of equipment is almost never used) and also the choice of equipment is sus - not a lot of people who resistance train even at an amateur level would've picked those benches.

Having dealt with obesity my entire life, I made some major changes last year, including having gastric sleeve surgery, but the strength training has truly helped me become a lot stronger! My mobility has increased tremendously, by making simple tasks like tying my shoes, so much easier! I have much more flexibility and range of motion from working out there several times a week! Even though lower body days can be tough (I love upper body days!) I am thankful for the trainers at Inner Strength who offer encouragement and support, and are constantly on the mission to ensure the exercises are being done properly so that I can reap the most benefit from them. Yes, there are days when I wake up sore from using muscle groups that hadn't been worked in a while, or my legs and quads are sore from too many squats, but it is a good and gratifying kind of sore, letting me know that I got a good work out and reminding me that I'm only getting stronger!! Thanks Inner Strength!! I look forward to working with you for years to come!!
