I signed up for a year long contract last November. I canceled said contract after paying so I…read morewouldn't get charge the following year if I didn't like it. I went there for a few months and decided to just go back to planet fitness bc a lot of the equipment was older and the size of the gym. It felt crowded with little more than 10 people there at a time. That wasn't completely the fault of the gym bc I could have taken a better look around. The reason why I am making this review is bc I got a text saying that my card was declined. Even though I cancelled when I signed up. I called the number given and talked to the owner. Told him I wasn't paying the now 60$ a month bill, was 50$ a month a year ago. Within the first second of me saying this the owner started to cuss me out. Saying that he's going to take me to court if I don't pay, threatening over 2 grand of attorney fees etc. I tried talking to him but continued to drop f bombs the whole time telling me it's too late I already said I wasn't paying. Wouldn't let me get a word in sideways. Told him I'd come in after work but he kept cursing at me. Told him to go eff himself, he then cussed me out saying that I have no right to curse at him. Then sent a text saying to not show up and harass his employees and cuss them out like I did to him. And sent my contract to me saying I signed it and that he's taking me to court. He's a horrible person, and called me back after reading my contract, think he'd do that before threatening a lawsuit, saying that I did cancel it. By then I already paid the 60$ bc I can't afford to pay the threatened 2 grand lawsuit. Did apologize but gave excuses about his bills and paying processing fees. He's an obvious hothead and personally seems like an ass. So don't support this asshole. If I could give this jackass a zero I would.

In addition they do have a track above the gym for running and walking, which is nice. The Athletic Club is in the same space as the Mortland Physical Therapy office space. When I first…read morejoined I was a little confused b/c you see patients using some of the machines. I typically go at times when the Mortland offices are closed so I don't have that problem of running into patients or the staff of Mortland. The place is convenient, clean, and offers a variety of machines - ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, weight machines, free weights, exercise balls - they have it all for a cardio or strength training workout. The cost is a little pricey but it's in Peters so I guess you should expect that. It's $50/month with a minimum of a 6 month committment. So you have to pay $300 at the time of signing up plus a $25 deposit for the FOB key to enter at times when Mortland is closed. You may be able to get a 3 month committment b/c they offer that to college students - and then only pay $150 (plus $25 FOB deposit). Even with the price, it's the convenience that really got me. What's the point of joining a gym if it's not convenient?!?! This way I can't use the, "It's so far" excuse to get out of exercising...I use other ones but not that one :) The hours are 5AM - 10PM, 7 days a week.
