I ordered the #1 "mild" which included two full size boneless fried chicken sliders with pickles and coleslaw plus fries. Generous amount of food, two sandwiches with enough french fries. Plus special sauce, honey and ketchup. I also got a Diet Coke, $2.50 for drinks (excellent price). There was plenty of food for two people. You have several "heat" options for mild to over the top spicy. Sandwich was really good. Tasty boneless, breaded white chicken breast with mild seasoning with coleslaw and pickles. One sandwich will be saved for tomorrow's lunch. Plenty of batter dipped style French fries. Drinks are Coca Cola products. Large restaurant, good amount of seating inside and some seating outside. Order placed, waited for "to go" food, took home to eat. Food was hot and tasty. Again ample food for two. Observation, not criticism. Not enough counter help, one employing taking orders and bagging the food. I was there about noon, two people would have been helpful for walk ins, phone and Door Dash type orders. The meal came with a lot of rice but only two small chicken strips which didn't feel like a great balance. Ordered food to go on door dash since I have credit in there and there was a small discount. I picked up my food and was a little late and that's on me. But when I got there the gentleman who was working the to go pick asked me to please give him a minute but it turned into several minutes, but he was trying to pack more orders and probably assumed my food hadn't been made yet. The food here hits! I got the angry mac which is a loaded Mac with a bed of fries and a couple chicken tenders chopped up into perfect bite sizes. Then they top it off the the Mac on top with a drizzle of their house sauce and the spice. I got the medium spice which was very tolerable. I didn't eat there but there are a bunch of tables to dine in. Since it's opening, I have visited several times now. And each visit has been a positive experience. There's plenty of parking, and the place is clean and tidy. Firstly, the food was delicious. We got the angry fix and a slider. My feedback is solely on the basis of sanitation, which for a food establishment, I'd say should be prioritized... Where this location lost 2 stars was for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Many of the tables were not wiped down, the seats on some tables were wet with who knows what, so I decided to ask for a rag from the cashier so I can wipe down a table for my party to use. She gladly provided me with a rag and the disinfectant spray they use and I went ahead and sprayed down my table (I felt like I was working for them). After wiping down my own table, I decided I should wash my hands in the bathroom before eating my food. Guess what? The dispenser was completely out of soap, leaving me wondering if the employees even washed their hands when using the restroom. I asked the cashier if they had soap for their men's restroom, and she said she'd get that taken care of. I checked the restroom again after a few minutes, as I anticipated my food being close to ready, and the soap dispenser was still empty. I followed up with the cashier and she told me their male employee was still on lunch and would take care of this once he got back. I had no choice but to use my own hand sanitizer before eating my meal. Here's the crazy part, 20 minutes passed by and I saw multiple male customers going in and out of the restroom with no soap available. None of those customers came to the register to ask for soap which makes me wonder, how long had they been out of soap, and are employees washing their hands?This is obviously a sanitary issue where customers and employees are touching things within the restaurant with bacteria all over their hands. The male employee gets back and takes about 15 seconds to replace the empty soap with a new soap canister. Oh by the way, there were actually two male employees present. The customer service was good, the food was delicious, but sanitation is definitely one area of improvement I hope the management goes over with the employees. It was served hot and fresh so I can't complain too much. I went with Medium spice, which was just fine. The main difference between many of these spots is that they use white meat/chicken breast whereas Hot Boys uses dark meat/chicken thigh. Both are good but I prefer dark meat from the chicken spots. Chicken is juicy and the flavors are delicious. Compared to all other "Nashville hot chicken places" angry chicks have it down when they are on their game. Citrus Heights location never disappoints. Folsom blvd location is a little spotty, and with Elk Grove I hope they stay up to par. The line at 9am was very long which is expected for a grand opening. I highly recommend everyone at least try this place once. I obviously caught the bug and you may as well! This location used to be Rubio's, you know that place that served inexpensive fish tacos. This place however is really expensive. I ordered combo #1 and it was about $18. Service here isn't that great, but food was ready fast. Combo included lots of seasoned fries. These weren't anything special. I had to put mine in an air fryer though because they weren't cooked enough. The sliders that came with the meal tasted great, I ordered them at hot level spicy. I only finished half the meal because it was a lot. Except I think I got food poisoning from the food here... I was sick after a few hours and the next day I just felt miserable the whole day. The slider were topped with Cole slaw which really wasn't present when eating. The angry Mac was a good size bowl: a mixture of Mac & cheese with fries topped with chicken. The Mac was soft (noodle not over-cooked) and creamy, the fries were a bit soggy being place at the bottom of the bowl. Bathroom is clearly labeled. The staff was in two types of uniform, which was confusing. One had NRO CREW, the other one says Elk Grove. The confusing part for me is that the EG version is the same they gave out to the first @00 customers in day 1. Isn't that kind of an imaging/branding issue? Just a thought... The line moved very fast. The staff is well trained and very knowledgeable and coordinated . There is teamwork there even it is only day 2 since opening, which was a very pleasant surprise! The food had 5 level of spiciness, and we got #1, angry fries, and side of tender. Total was around $40. We got them in country and mild. We love Korean noodles so that will be how we compare the spices, which their mild has way more heat than I expected. It is not burning a hole in my stomach, but if you only handle half a pack of Korean ramen powder, you will want to opt for country. Their mild is more spicy that a whole pack of Korean ramen powder. Since we had the food to go, it was not a fair assessment. My hubby says it take better than the other place in town, as the chicken got a more smokey flavor here. Not sure if it was the peanut oil making that difference. Our recommendations is if you don't want to dine there, open the container on the drive back. I read some of the 1-2 stars and I'd have to say this type of chicken might not be everyone's style. We like the fries and the spice levels of the chicken. I'd agree it's a bit pricey but I thought there are some other chicken places that are quite pricey as well and this has better flavor in my opinion. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star was because the tender I got was a little juicy and actually had spice to it. However, nearly $6 after tax for just 1 chicken tender is a huge rip-off. It also took a little while for my order of just 1 single tender. They also seem to be wasteful on packaging. They were also nice enough to remind me that they were offering a free macaroni and cheese side to every purchase so I got to take advantage of that also.
