Ordered food to go on door dash since I have credit in there and there was a small discount. I picked up my food and was a little late and that's on me. But when I got there the gentleman who was working the to go pick asked me to please give him a minute but it turned into several minutes, but he was trying to pack more orders and probably assumed my food hadn't been made yet. So I had to wait 5 minutes before I asked the cashier if he could help me grab my food. I already saw it on the shelf waiting. The food was good, for those who have not been here before , this was my first time too. A slider isn't really small like most ppl would assume, it's a full sized chicken Sando. So a #2 meal with maybe another side is more than enough to fill up 2 ppl. If you like spicy chicken Sando this is a great spot to eat. Price is fair for a spot that specializes in the spicy chicken Sando compared to other fast food chains that serve a bunch of other items and happen to have spicy chicken sandwiches. My only gripe was waiting to get my food from the counter when it was ready the whole time.
I tried this place for the first time. The place was spacious, clean, and well-kept. The service was also friendly and fast. The food however was a bit disappointing. The meal came with a lot of rice but only two small chicken strips which didn't feel like a great balance. The rice was actually really good but I wish there had been more chicken to match the portion. For the price, I'm not sure the portion size was worth it.
The food here hits! I got the angry mac which is a loaded Mac with a bed of fries and a couple chicken tenders chopped up into perfect bite sizes. Then they top it off the the Mac on top with a drizzle of their house sauce and the spice. I got the medium spice which was very tolerable. I was thinking about trying the next level up the next time I go. Lots of seating the resturant and everything was clean and neat The only thing was the cashier was kind of grumpy or dare I say "angry" while I was placing my order. But she looked like she was the only one working the cashier and calling out the ready food so maybe she was just feeling overwhelmed. But that wouldn't deiter me from coming back.
As soon as I finished my "Hangry Fix Bowl" at home, I went straight to my living room and quietly did 8-10 body rolls with the windows down humming Reba McEntires' theme song. The ambiance in the restaurant has a very chill vibe (came in around 10pm). The 80s-90s music playlist was nostalgic, like an ol' buck like me. The rice was buttery smooth, the coleslaw was crisp with every bite, and the chicken was well seasoned and spicy thicc.Big compliments to the chef. The customer service was excellent and served with a smile.I'll definitely be coming back for more big back activities.

Ordering online was very easy and the food was ready when I got there. No waiting! I was greeted right away and the staff seems very friendly. I didn't eat there but there are a bunch of tables to dine in. It looks clean and well maintained. #3 One chicken slider with slaw and pickles, plus one tender over white bread with pickles and fries. Large and generous portion for $16. I got the mild and it was spicy (for me) with a kick. The chicken is juicy and coated with lots of seasoning. Lots of flavor. How does this compare to other popular Nashville-style hot chicken? I think it's about the same. I do like the location and the ease of ordering from Local Toast app.
There are many Angry Chickz but this is not an angry chick who is angry and hating on me LMAO Seriously though this Angry Chickz spot in Elk Grove is a fairly new place which opened less than a year ago back in June 2025. Since it's opening, I have visited several times now. And each visit has been a positive experience. There's plenty of parking, and the place is clean and tidy. This last visit I ordered the Classic #3 meal which includes 1 chicken slider, 1 chicken tender and fries. You can choose your heat level from country no heat (boo) up to ANGRY (noo)! I opt for medium. The chicken sandwiches are actually very good, juicy and perfect spiciness. And the fries are bomb!!! Service was very good. The staff were friendly and courteous. Will visit again.
So surprised by the low rating! I had a positive experience at Angry Chickz with the food and service. Ordered the sandwich (mild)/tender on toast (medium) and two sandwiches (medium and hot). The person taking our order warned us hot was ghost pepper hot but we still wanted to try it. Spoiler alert--it was hot!! Lol. The sandwiches were good. Chicken wasn't dry at all and nicely balanced with the pickles and coleslaw. They are larger than slider size in my opinion. I didn't even eat the other half of my order because I was full. It also comes with fries, which were seasoned and crispy. For my taste, mild is the best level because there's still spice, yet not overly where you can't enjoy the sandwich. Medium maybe, but hot was way too hot . We were sweating lol We came around 2:30pm with a few people in the restaurant. By 3pm there was a line and the place had filled up. Kudos to the workers for being friendly and attentive throughout.
Convenient location when you're in the mood for a cheat meal. Delicious chicken slider and the seasoned fries were perfectly crispy. The additional toast was just ok but the sliders and fries were perfection!
My kids really enjoy this place because their chicken sandwiches are good--and I like that each order comes with two generously sized sliders. However, I'm giving them 3 stars for now because the service could definitely use some improvement. The restaurant itself is clean, but during my last couple of visits, the pickup experience was frustrating. A staff member didn't notice me standing right under the pickup sign and continued chatting with another employee about non-work-related things, only to greet the next person who walked in. I had to get their attention just to pick up my order. Overall, the food is decent, but the service experience needs some attention.
I just needed something light to have with my medicine, so I ordered a chicken tender with mild spice. That's the lightest of the 5 levels of spicy hot. It comes with a thick slice of toasted bread, which is rally good. The order took about 15 minutes, but I think they over spiced it. It was so hot, i couldn't enjoy it. I'll have to go with no spice the next time, which is called Country on the menu.
Really solid. 100% halal for those with dietary restrictions. It was my first time at this location, but I've had this before at other locations. The inside is pretty clean and I saw tables actively getting cleaned and turned over to accommodate incoming customers. All I ordered was the Angry Fries and was surprised that it was close to a 25 minute wait. All of the other chicken spots seem to be able to turn around the food pretty quick. It was served hot and fresh so I can't complain too much. I went with Medium spice, which was just fine. The main difference between many of these spots is that they use white meat/chicken breast whereas Hot Boys uses dark meat/chicken thigh. Both are good but I prefer dark meat from the chicken spots. I would definitely get this again and what separates them are their fries. Their fries are on the same level as hot boys and definitely better than Dave's.
My son waited in line at 6 AM for today's grand opening and was able to be ticket number 59! He was able to get a jersey and order food to take home. I can only do a review on the food as he brought it home for us to enjoy. He ordered the Angry Mac and the #3 which a slider and tenders with fries. I had asked for mild as I can't handle spicy and wow this had a kick to it! To me it was much spicer but again my palate can't handle spicy! The food was delicious! We enjoyed every bit of it! This will definitely be a family rotation when we are having chicken cravings! Excited that it's not too far from home! Definitely a must try! Welcome to Elk Grove Angry Chickz! First time trying Angry Chickz. I love the smallish/limited menu options. It makes ordering easier. I ordered the #1 "mild" which included two full size boneless fried chicken sliders with pickles and coleslaw plus fries. Generous amount of food, two sandwiches with enough french fries. Plus special sauce, honey and ketchup. I also got a Diet Coke, $2.50 for drinks (excellent price). There was plenty of food for two people. You have several "heat" options for mild to over the top spicy. Sandwich was really good. Tasty boneless, breaded white chicken breast with mild seasoning with coleslaw and pickles. One sandwich will be saved for tomorrow's lunch. Plenty of batter dipped style French fries. Drinks are Coca Cola products. Large restaurant, good amount of seating inside and some seating outside. Order placed, waited for "to go" food, took home to eat. Food was hot and tasty. Again ample food for two. Observation, not criticism. Not enough counter help, one employing taking orders and bagging the food. I was there about noon, two people would have been helpful for walk ins, phone and Door Dash type orders. Kitchen was busy, 2-3 people working. Reasonable wait time, friendly and polite customer. read more

This location used to be Rubio's, you know that place that served inexpensive fish tacos. This place however is really expensive. I ordered combo #1 and it was about $18. Service here isn't that great, but food was ready fast. Combo included lots of seasoned fries. These weren't anything special. I had to put mine in an air fryer though because they weren't cooked enough. The sliders that came with the meal tasted great, I ordered them at hot level spicy. I only finished half the meal because it was a lot. Except I think I got food poisoning from the food here... I was sick after a few hours and the next day I just felt miserable the whole day. Don't know if I'll be coming back here. Food isn't fresh. The service is bad, when I arrived there were employees just standing there talking to each other outside while I waited at the counter to order. Did everyone get the same break time? I've had Nashville chicken elsewhere that is better and less expensive. read more
We ordered the mild spicy Nashville chicken through Grubhub--got the Angry Mac and an extra slider. Both came with juicy, flavorful tenders that were cooked just right. The spice level was mild as requested, with a nice kick but not overwhelming. The Angry Mac had a great combo of cheesy comfort and crispy chicken, while the slider was a solid portion on its own. Review is for a To-Go order Food 4.2 My daughter wanted to go for their grand opening but decided to wait, so this past Sunday was the day. There wasn't a long wait to place our order, so after quickly looking over the menu we order: #1 two slider meal (one country = no spice & one medium), an angry Mac medium and an extra tender mild. It took about 15-20 minutes for our order to be put together. While waiting it seemed like there were more workers than guests inside but the workers were attentive about keeping the place clean. When we got our food home, we immediately opened our food and excited to eat. The #1: chicken was cooked well nice, tender and juicy, but there was no crunch since the chicken was lightly breaded while their medium spice had no heat IMO. The slider were topped with Cole slaw which really wasn't present when eating. The angry Mac was a good size bowl: a mixture of Mac & cheese with fries topped with chicken. The Mac was soft (noodle not over-cooked) and creamy, the fries were a bit soggy being place at the bottom of the bowl. Overall the food quality is there but for the money including tip ($47.96) and no drinks, I will think twice about returning. read more

I came here and picked up and I got home and medium chicken was good had little kick but the hot omg ! I swear they might have given me the x hot cause literally was dying and wanted to call 9-1-1 and I've had the hot before and it wasn't that bad idk maybe someone had a heavy hand with the spice but omg couldn't enjoy at all. This made me definitely not come here again for sure. First time with the hair and now with the spice beyond crazy hot. read more
This is day 2, and we figured out the line will not be as crazy. We went at 1:30 pm on that Saturday. The line is at the door but very fast. It took about 20 minutes from order to getting the food to go. General, wait time is reasonable. The store is nice and clean. There are plenty of outdoor seating in addition to indoor. Bathroom is clearly labeled. The staff was in two types of uniform, which was confusing. One had NRO CREW, the other one says Elk Grove. The confusing part for me is that the EG version is the same they gave out to the first @00 customers in day 1. Isn't that kind of an imaging/branding issue? Just a thought... The line moved very fast. The staff is well trained and very knowledgeable and coordinated . There is teamwork there even it is only day 2 since opening, which was a very pleasant surprise! The food had 5 level of spiciness, and we got #1, angry fries, and side of tender. Total was around $40. We got them in country and mild. We love Korean noodles so that will be how we compare the spices, which their mild has way more heat than I expected. It is not burning a hole in my stomach, but if you only handle half a pack of Korean ramen powder, you will want to opt for country. Their mild is more spicy that a whole pack of Korean ramen powder. Since we had the food to go, it was not a fair assessment. My hubby says it take better than the other place in town, as the chicken got a more smokey flavor here. Not sure if it was the peanut oil making that difference. Our recommendations is if you don't want to dine there, open the container on the drive back. It let out some humidity and keep things crunchy (unless you love soggy fries). We are not sure if we will return often. It all depends how painful when it came out ... read more

I read some of the 1-2 stars and I'd have to say this type of chicken might not be everyone's style. We like the fries and the spice levels of the chicken. I'd agree it's a bit pricey but I thought there are some other chicken places that are quite pricey as well and this has better flavor in my opinion. The place slipped clean and the lady at the register was really nice even though the place was busy she took her time with our order. They stay open until midnight. So keep that on the list of positives since so many places in elk Grove close early read more

Me and my wife went out to dinner. We heard about this place opening in Elk Grove. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by staff. The staff were friendly and very polite. Me and my wife both ordered the angry fries. My wife ordered the medium heat and I ordered the mild. My wife loved her fries. She loved the taste and the heat. She said the chicken was cooked to perfection and flavor was delicious. The only issue was the fries to the chicken ratio. My fries and chicken were great. The taste was very flavorful and the coleslaw/pickle combination was the perfect addition to the meal. The ambiance is customer service friendly and has a lot of seating. A great place to get some hot chicken. read more
Came in to try this new place for lunch today. It's not bad. I ordered #1 with mild and an Angry Bowl. Love the slaw and the fries were good. I asked for an extra side sauce. Chicken sandwich was good but wish there was more slaw. Staff were ok. Plenty of parking. It wasn't super busy but a number of folks dining in. There's outside seating. I would come back maybe to try the next level of heat since mild wasn't even spicy. I think I can handle the next level - medium. read more
Came here on National Mac & Cheese Day and fully enjoyed my Angry Mac! They were also nice enough to remind me that they were offering a free macaroni and cheese side to every purchase so I got to take advantage of that also. Service was awesome and food came out so quickly! They have plenty of seating inside and outside. The mac itself is super cheesy and gooey, and loved the combo with all the fries and chicken and signature sauce. My only comment is I wish they had a heat level between medium and hot! Medium is just not enough for me and hot is too spicy...give us a medium+! read more

Not bad. The food was made in a timely manner. I thought the food was yummy as well. The best parts were the fries, the dipping sauce and the toast. The chicken was good too and moist. The only reason to knock off a star was the service. The staff don't look happy to be there, and I even heard some of them complain. No enthusiasm and even when I struggled initially to order, the cashier didn't offer any help, she didn't even say a word. read more
