I've seen them operating registers and serving food while all the other cashiers are taking care of other customers. Thank you for getting in there and keeping the lines moving! Aside from that, the theaters have always been clean when I go, more importantly, the restrooms are too. What I love, love is that there are recliner seats in every stadium and the distance apart from the back and front seats is PERFECT! I'm one of those people that doesn't like people kicking my seat. I don't want to feel like someone else is right on top of me and these seats are great. They're also numbered so for blockbusters, you should totally use their app and reserve your seats. For those who want to relax with a beer or wine, they have that too. When you walk in, go straight to the register for your tickets and food. I think it would be cooler if there was a register dedicated to "tickets only" instead of also taking peoples food order (you know, for people not buying popcorn and drinks) but I understand they're trying to make use of every register and not overstaff to save money, it's all cool. I'm just thankful there's still a person doing the job and not a robot or Kiosk that doesn't work. Lol Lastly, I also like the location of this theater, it's in its own area so there's no other traffic incoming from stores or restaurants, it's just sitting there by itself. Also in the area are Walmart, Aldi's Wegmans, Applebee's and several fast food locations like Five Guys and Ted's.

The livestock and agricultural exhibits are always a highlight, especially the Agricultural Discovery Center with piglets, chicks, rabbits, and brand-new calves. I also learned way more about potatoes than I ever expected! We loved seeing the fainting goats, potbelly pigs, LEGO displays, artwork, and the Native American Village. The hoop dance was a favorite, especially when paired with my annual Indian taco. And the local vendors are a huge plus: Silly Yak's gluten-free foods (funnel cake and bloomin' onion hit the spot), Nickel City Vice (gourmet ice cream sandwiches), Half Baked Cookies, and Leveled Up all brought their A-game. By the end of two days, we had demolished fries, lemonade, an Indian taco, gluten-free funnel cake, GF bloomin' onion, corn dog, curly fries, and more. My wallet may never recover, but hey...it's only once a year. The grandstand concert was fantastic, with surprisingly great sound, and I loved that you can bring food, drinks, and bags into the concert area. Bonus points for discovering the empty men's bathroom when the women's line was approximately 47 deep. Bottom line: Go to the fair. Eat too much, learn something, see some animals, people-watch, and embrace the chaos. It's a Buffalo summer tradition for a reason!

The Erie county fair is the best of the best in respect to fairs…read more You have so many food vendors. So many different displays of county agricultural. They bring in different performers and artisans. It's all so fun! The parking is free so that's a major plus. They just added a new traffic circle on the grounds to better manage the traffic, which turned out just wonderfully. The grounds are really well maintained, with newer facilities in most of the buildings. They had some great housekeeping staff in the restrooms who were really managing all the people, I appreciated it so much! And there were different deals going on nearly everyday to get in on a discount for different groups of people. My kids and I had a really nice time seeing so much!

Yelp is here too…read more Along with a large selection of artists/galleries (over 30) mostly from Buffalo but also other parts of NY state. There is photography, including some of the local scenes, paint on canvas, sculpture, media art and more. This is an annual event founded by Fritz Able, to showcase some of the terrific art from the area. They are coming from far and wide o see it. Today I heard people had come from NYC, DC and Miami, and those are just from hearing snippets of chatter. This weekend is your chance to see these artists and galleries under one roof. That roof happens to be the Buffalo Public Library's roof, which is a nice and easy to navigate building. The art starts outside with some colorful circles of art from a NYC based artist who was at UB for her studies some years ago. They lead the way in. There are some lectures at 12 today, which is what the $5 entrance fee is for. Tomorrow no lectures and no fee. There is something here for everyone's taste. And even if you find nothing of interest to your eyes or ears there is bound to be something for your stomach: Delish with coffee and muffins, Sun Burmese with black rice rolls and more, Askers, Nickel City, English Pies and of course some wine and beer for later, it's Buffalo. Come down, ride a bike or take the subway as there is not much parking around here, see what's happening on the local art scene. And pick up a handy Yelp reusable grocery bag just for coming. So many levels of art from both amateur and professional. The artist worked was done on the pavement, silo outside walls and inside the silos. One artist even did hop scotch on the silo walkway so the kids could play. Easy to spend the day there after going through the artwork with the zip line, climbing wall, music, rides or just hanging by the river watching the boats and kayaks go by.

I came here to see the museum (on first floor) but did not have a chance to see the club…read more(upstairs). This building is on the national register of historic places. The museum was fantastic, truly a hidden gem and full of lots of local music history. George Scott, the president of the museum, gave us a tour and he shared incredible stories that really brought the history into modern day context. There are several exhibits, including: - a timeline that follows the evolution of American music. Each genre is associated with a time period and has a number, which can be punched into a sound stick so you can hear songs from that era. This exhibit would be interesting to both children and adults. - Buffalo connection to many nationally known musicians - History of the Local 533 union (American Federation of Musicians), who started the Colored Musicians Club. - interactive sound recording studio stations - an interactive band exhibit - and more! I can't say enough great things about how interesting this museum is, and I can't believe how many nationally recognized musicians had a Buffalo connection. I highly recommend the museum, and I actually would love to go back so I could spend more time with the interactive exhibits. It's great for all ages. I didn't know a single performer on the roster, yet by the end of the night, I felt like I could. The volunteers are giddy and obviously love their craft. We had gotten tickets to see Clue, one of our all-time favorite scripts. I don't think this swayed our opinions too strongly, as the passion and comedic talent of the crew shine brightly enough to make me laugh so hard I nearly peed myself. There are bathrooms, a fact I noticed belatedly. This show had no intermission, and the seats are a bit crunched together where you're not going to want to crawl over your neighbor and miss the fun, so hit them up before the show begins. Something to note is that tickets, easily bought online for a mere 15 Washington's, with no hidden fees, insisted on the buddy system. We couldn't buy a solo chair, which prompted us to bring along another body (pun intended) to the show. The seats were clearly labeled, and there are people willing to escort you if you feel uncertain over your destination. With all live theatre, I often wonder how a movie will translate to the stage. I'm thrilled to say that they stuck true to the majority of the script, adding nuances to poke fun at the origins of the story and visual gaggery. Unlike film, you can't spend hours setting up shots, and the use of a few simple pieces of set, moved by the cast themselves kept the audience in stitches as they made the best of the small stage. It was as brilliant as the big named cast at a fraction of the budget. At the end of the night, the audience filed out into the lobby to find the cast waiting to see the audience. I nearly stopped for a picture (as photos/videos/phones are highly discouraged in favor of living in the moment and not distracting others involved) but in favor of finally relieving my tickled bladder, and then tracking down my group in the near dark of the park, I decided to let my memories do the work for me. If you're going to support the arts, pick this theater. I don't know what's coming next, but I do know that my curiosity is piqued and that I'll gladly skip my bedtime again to find out.

They have 4 floors with a wide variety of stations and things to do for the kids. If we didn't have to worry about nap time, we could probably spend the whole day there. If you have a Bank of America card, this museum is part of their Museum on us program- IYKYK. I also like the cafeteria where you can purchase snacks or meals for the kids. I appreciate that they don't police you, if you just use the space to eat your own packed snacks, just clean up after yourself is all they request. There's just so much to do. I would say the only issue we ran into was finding parking, but that's to expected at that side of town. Overall, a must for kids.

This place is AWESOME for our little guy. He loved this entire place and had so much fun. The building is 4 floors but Explore & More really starts on the 2nd floor. The first floor has a lobby and a cafe though which is nice too. The main floor of Explore & More is great. There is a Delta Sonic kid car wash, and so many cool historical Buffalo things like the Erie Canal and interactive boat for them to try out. The next floor has so many interactive things for kids to try and run around on. Everything has great theming for Buffalo and really shows off the hometown pride for the adults who are there with their kids. I'd recommend this place to anyone with kids because they have so much fun. There is something to do for all ages here. Definitely felt like a Buffalo gem.

Wow! Every room in this house offers something unique to look at!…read more The Orchard Park Historical Society maintains the museum and offers guided tours of the house. Admission was free when we visited but donations are also accepted. When we visited, everyone was friendly, and shared interesting information as we were guided through the house. The house was built in 1870 and belonged to Doctor Jolls, his wife, and housekeeper. Then later was acquired by the Town and repurposed prior to becoming a museum. Doctor Jolls' medical office is still in tact, and feels like you have stepped back in time! It contains many interesting medical instruments. Dr. Jolls was also inducted as an honorary member of the Wolf Clan, Seneca Tribe, as a consulting physician. In the other rooms of the house, there are several exhibits including: a vintage kitchen, Native American artifacts, a toy room, antique bedrooms, and more. The museum is well organized and the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. This museum is a must-see! Check their Facebook page for their open hours.
