We found Le Don on Yelp. Nice interesting decor…read more Le Don has an inexpensive lunch special. We also ordered the signature dumplings : delicious with pleasant ginger notes. The broccoli soup was excellent. Same for the house salad with crispy chickpeas. We enjoyed the Impossible burger and the mushroom risotto: the mushroom risotto is one if the best risottos we've had the privilege to enjoy. The meal was capped with a delicious blueberry crumble and vegan soy latte. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

We visited on a Monday…read moreevening and the place was packed to the brim -- after about a 30 min wait, we were luckily the last couple to be seated! We started with the panko-fried cauliflower, a creative take on the veggie served with a vibrant green herbaceous sauce that added an interesting layer of flavor. For entrées, I really enjoyed the tostadas -- well-executed Mexican flavors loaded with veggies, cheese, and surprisingly satisfying plant-based "meat" chunks. The Thai tofu and vegetable soup was warm and hearty, although the flavors were a little too subtle for us and could have packed more punch. For dessert, the eleven-layer chocolate cake certainly looked decadent, but unfortunately the vegan interpretation of this indulgent classic didn't quite hit the mark for us. Service was warm and friendly, though a bit slow -- perhaps we're just spoiled by the pace of NYC dining! Overall, Le Don impresses with its creative concept, varied menu, and cozy atmosphere. Set moderate expectations & it's definitely worth a stop for a relaxed vegan meal in Quebec City.

Looking for a quick and casual meal we found this place on Google. The space is very unassuming…read moreand is actually located next to the main restaurant Bati Bassac (closed Sunday and Monday's). You walk through the patio to the space that is the kitchen with a large counter for takeout orders. Because we were planning to eat in (at the patio) we would have table service. Space is very pretty with picnic and patio tables with patio lights hung above. The food is Thai/Cambodian and runs from appetizers to mains to dessert. The patio is licensed so you can order a glass of wine or a beer. Flavours and portions were okay. Dishes can be shareable but are not huge. Patio has heat lamps so you can actually sit well into the late fall. We were told that once the Quebec winter hits the patio is closed and they are only open for takeout but there are a couple of small tables inside to eat in. Service was really good. It was the great casual meal we were looking for.

We were going to drive to Quebec City but got tired and instead found this restaurant on Yelp. You HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE especially there PAD SEE EW!! This is a gem!!

The spring rolls are incredibly fresh and tasty. The soups were unbelievably tasty. The Tonkinese soup is a mini-pho and wonderfully flavorful. My wife ordered the pad see ew and raved about it's flavor; possibly the best she's ever had anywhere. I ordered the Pham Thai with chicken. Amazing, just amazing flavors. Now, the surprise. The amount you get served on a plate could easily feed 2 people; no joke. Now the only compliant. The wait. I honestly think another cook would take this place next level. I thought they focused too much on their to-go orders more than the customers seated and waiting for their food. Flavors = 12 out of 10. Service by wonderful wait staff = 10 out of 10. Time to plate the food for seated customers = 5 out of 10. When we visit Quebec from the U.S. again, we will come back for the incredible food and hopefully the plating time is fixed.

Pick up order in downtown Quebec. More of a fast food joint…read morein terms of quality and taste but would still recommend it. We had the green curry chicken with rice, pad see ew with beef, and the chicken Pad Thai. The Thai green curry chicken with rice was great! A lot of flavors swirling in the sauce and didn't have a lot of heat which is what I wanted/ very mild! Green peppers and onions dotted the taste and added crunch to the dish. The Pad See Ew with beef was generous in size and came with vegetables as well. It would be better with more basil added but still was a good dish. The Pad Thai with chicken was just okay - although lacking in egg and more veggies ( bean sprouts, scallions, etc) that usually comes in Pad Thai, and the sauce could've used more oomph because the tamarind was very strong. No peanuts and the noodles were not flat but looked rounded. Overall this is a good take out to stay in during winter time and if you are at a hotel just wanting to stay indoors, as we did. Prices were decent and affordable. Service was good/ can be more focused on orders , we paid an extra $0.80 as per their website if we wanted a bowl instead of a take out box but 2 out of 4 dishes came in a takeout box.

The owner, upon noticing my profound disdain for the slop he'd just served me, rushed over to our table to offer a replacement for my meal. I'll give him credit for that. Unfortunately, his recommended replacement was only marginally better, a stir fry of peppers, onions, and breaded beef chunks served over rice swimming in several ounces of diluted hoisin sauce. The food here is definitely 1 star, but I'm giving a 2 star rating to my review for the owner's attempt at customer service.

We were craving spice in Quebec City and set out looking for Asian food. That search led us to…read moreMadame Phan. Both of us--coming from different parts of Asia--were hopeful. The food? It was okay. It gave us the spice fix we needed, but it wasn't authentic. I wish I could rate it higher, but I feel a responsibility to be critical when it comes to Asian cuisine. Too often, Asian food is watered down for Western taste buds. It's a disservice to the cultures it represents. Quebec City already feels deeply European, and I would love to see more pride in showcasing Asian food as it really is. Here's the truth: authentic food usually outperforms the "tailored-to-locals" version. People rise to the occasion when they're given the real thing. Sadly, what I often see--here included--is the opposite. Local diners leave thinking they've "experienced Asian food" when, in fact, they haven't. The first red flag was in the description itself: "Asian." Asia is vast and diverse. Expecting one restaurant, or one chef, to represent it all is impossible. It's like walking into a place that claims to serve all European food under one roof. Unrealistic by definition. So, no, Madame Phan isn't authentic. But it did serve its purpose: it gave us something spicy when we needed it. I just wish more restaurants here leaned into authenticity rather than compromise. Because authentic Asian food deserves better than this.

Quebec City isn't exactly known for authentic or high-quality Asian cuisine, so it's best to keep your expectations in check. This place is about as close as you'll get. The pho wasn't authentic--the broth tasted more like beef bouillon, so I'd skip that. The Thai chicken had a good kick of spice, and the General Tao's was actually pretty solid. Overall, there aren't many Asian food options in the city, but this place gets the job done.

Their price is ridiculous for their 1 size only Pho and Hue. Back home in Ontario, you would be able to get a a XL pho for $15.50. The Pho here was so small, it barely had any noodles. Normally I never drink all the soup but this time I had to drink it all because I was still hungry. They really do it different here with their Pho. They put the bean sprouts directly in the soup for you before they bring it out to you. I don't like my bean sprout fully cook and soggy. Also where the is the lime? Did they squeeze the lime in it for me too? Where are the basils? Meatballs? The taste of the broth is subjective, these guys went with a flavourful herbal taste instead of the strong beef taste. The Bun Bo Hue's broth was ok. Once again it was very small just like the Pho. Missing a lot of key ingredient again. The atmosphear was good. They did their best with the limited amount of space they had. Service was prompt. This place could be a lot better because their broth taste good but way too many ingredients missing.
