She gave helpful pointers and assisted us with the correct form for poses, which not all yoga studios do these days. I've also never had a yoga class that started with essential oils and ended with a warm weighted eyemask (it's incredible, everyone should try this)! She played gentle music throughout our practice and there are rainbow twinkle lights on the walls. Students are welcome to hang out in the lounges and have tea anytime. There are plenty of cubbies and they provide yoga mats and blocks at no additional cost. I didn't have any problems parking on the street, it's free but limited to 2 hours. I think Mindfulness Bar is perfect for anyone wanting a chill and inclusive environment for yoga, meditation, and self-care.

If you are familiar with this part of Norfolk, you probably know that parking in this side of town can sometimes be challenge. Be prepared to pay for the service in it's entirety when booking. If you are booking as a couple, your guest will need to fill out the intake form in person because the online booking only allowed me to fill out one. Loved decor here. The Seafoam green gives it a nice touch and it matches their website. Super clean in here too. I had to use the restroom before we entered the sauna and I was very pleased with how neat and tidy it was We were directed to our room for the infared sauna. There are plenty of towels and robes for guests. I loved the sauna, it was really nice and relaxing for the both of us. The only thing that I didn't like was the little draft at the bottom of the door. This prevented the temperature from going up, but other than that, I felt amazing after. We will definitely be back.

Once I had changed and Kailey adjusted my headband I received a brief aromatherapy treatment. I've gotten plenty of facials before but this was the first time any aesthetician has ever done that. She placed the oil on her wrists and had me breathe deeply in and out before starting my service. It was the perfect touch because if you're like me, you're probably rushing to your appointments. My facial was amazing. This was my first service with Kailey but it won't be my last. She examined my skin before she began. I loved the fact that she answered all my questions and even gave my suggestions for different services to look into during the winter months. Extractions are always a love-hate experience for me but all of the congestion from my face was removed and my skin was so soft when I left. During the facial Kailey and I chatted about other treatments that would be great for my skin, how often I should be receiving facials, and my at-home routine. I'd also like to add that Kailey is a product wiz! When we were quarantined she helped me revamp my entire skin routine. I think we all dealt with maskne but I also believe my diet and stress caused my skin to go into panic or something. Kailey and I texted and talked over the phone about my skin and its needs. My whole regimen got a much-needed facelift and my skin is doing so much better. Anytime she recommends something for me (and no she doesn't sell products so no gimmicks there) I get it! Since then I have had minimal (and I mean minimal) breakouts and the texture of my skin has improved drastically. Several of the amenities were not available, the property was run down and dirty. After we arrived at the Glade cabin we walked down the property to see what it had to offer. We noticed our cabin did not have a washer and dryer in it as described and didn'tfind the communal area laundry to use. There was no map provided and no signage to guide what areas were private and for public use. We came upon the wood burning sauna and I gasped when i opened the door. It was run down, super rustic and it honestly reminded me of a crematorium. Next to that was the cool dip pool which was not in working order and not listed as that on the rental description. Several reviews seem like the pool hasnt been in use for a few years. We then walked up to the "castle" on a narrow foot bridge and at the top were what seemed to be two drunk men who claimed they lived there. They were blocking the walkway, and to get around them was awkward. They asked us how we found this place and why we were there. Something didn't sit right with that encounter, so we continued walking instead of going inside to see the communal area. We went back to our cabin and never used the rest of the property after that. It did not seem eco friendly either. The property seems to be in a constant state of construction that other things get overlooked and unkempt. The glade cabin was just ok. It was secluded which was a plus. It seemed clean however there was a strong musty smell throughout. No cleaning supplies offered. The cabin had an ant problem inside and a bee problem outside of the entry doors. Both doors were hard to lock from inside. The main door leading to the kitchen had quite a large gap between it and the frame causing an easy way for insects to get in. The keypad was also not working properly and had a constant noise coming from it which was annoying while trying to sleep. The furniture was old and not comfortable. It did have good wifi and was able to stream on the TV. The lightning was very dim inside, and although it had a lot of lights it was still dark. Im not sure how this property keeps getting good reviews, but i did find quite a few similar to mine. On TripAdvisor there is also mention of this being a nudist camp which was not mentioned in any of the rental descriptions. That, and the non working pool and sauna alone would have made me not book in the first place. Again misleading and unsettling. It is close to the national park which is why we originally chose this place. We spent as much time away from it as possible and only returned to sleep. We did not once see any employees or property managers. I would caution anyone to rethink booking here.

There's truly something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax or explore. We loved the dry sauna and the jacuzzi tub in our room, and spent our evenings cooking, sitting by the fire, and playing records. It was the perfect mix of cozy and fun. The property also has a hot tub, a cold plunge, and dry sauna and you can books massages, cooking classes and yoga classes on the property! So many other unique touches throughout -- you can really feel how much thought has gone into creating a serene and welcoming space. You can do as much or as little as you want here, and that flexibility makes it feel like your retreat. Can't recommend it enough. I am already dreaming about our next stay later this year!
