Unfortunately, things got sideways once a large group that appeared to be a wedding party came in. The venue is small and prior to thier arrival the venue was probably 20% full. Once everyone made it up the elevator there were far more people than seats. The group was loud enough to drown out the musicians so they stopped playing and the experience became an overall disappointment. They claimed to have a dress code yet some of the party had on sweatpants and baseball hats. I understand this is a business but when you are trying to sell memberships to something "exclusive" don't expect me or anyone I know to buy in when you let it turn into a frat bar.

The breakfast was good but I was on vacation and I didn't read the plastic laminated rules and felt like I was treated like a kid. The rooms are nice but small and you are paying for the view out the front windows. How i felt, I couldn't wait to leave and that makes me sad since I was trying to relax there. There is a park across the street with beach access. When you're on vacation and you stay at a place where you can't relax because of how you are treated AND you paid a lot of money to stay at? I should have gone to best western.

Chef Franco and Nicki came to our vacation rental last night and cooked dinner for 15 of us. They made everything perfect. From menu selection to the day of the party, it was all easy and perfect. Chef Franco showed up on time and brought everything he could possibly need. We picked out a gulf shrimp appetizer, followed by crab cakes. When I tell you these were the best crab cakes I have ever eaten.... I am craving them right now !!! We also had sautéed crab claws, which were plentiful and delicious. At that point, we were all full, but went on to have a Caesar salad, which again was perfection. Throughout this whole eating frenzy, we delighted in watching chef cook every part of the meal. He is not only a phenomenal chef, but so knowledgeable about the area and other parts of Florida. It made for a great dinner conversation. The main course consisted of filet mignon, and a grilled lobster tail. Accompaniments included green beans, and a homemade Mac and cheese. Just watching him make the mac & cheese, the entire room was salivating. Every aspect of the meal was beyond delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection to everyone's personal liking. Finally, we barely had enough room for dessert, but managed to get it down. Dessert was a bourbon bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Again, this was exquisite. I am a bread, pudding, fan, and some may even say, an aficionado, and I can say this was among the best !!! Chef and Nina then proceeded to clean up the kitchen and package up all of our leftovers into the refrigerator. They left the kitchen cleaner then we found it when we got the house. Every aspect of this evening was fantastic !!!

We decided to give it a try and we are oh so happy we did. We've been there twice already in the 9 days we've been here. The dishes we've tried are... steak tartare - outstanding! So tasty and the presentation was fantastic with hummus and mini pita chips. Crispy pork belly - OMG, fantastic. With a peach glaze and crunchy crackling. Fillete Chivita - marinated fillet, sliced and so tasty! Served with a chimichurri sauce and mashed potatoes (my husband's choice) which were also delish. St. Louis ribs, Geisha style - another OMG, so incredibly juicy and tasty with a Geisha coffee demiglace and a rum BBQ sauce. I chose a Caesar salad on the side, which didn't have the most traditional dressing, but was really tasty. We also tried the mojito Limòn and the mojito mandarina on our first visit. Both were tasty, but a little sweeter than we'd prefer. Last night, we ordered 2 gin and tonics and the waiter asked if we wanted the classic or ??? We couldn't make out what he said, but we said 'sure!'. They arrived and they were great! They were pinker in colour and had a bit of a cherry flavour. But they weren't overly sweet and we'd definitely try them again. I can't say enough about the service at Chivita. On our first visit, we had a lovely waitress who was so friendly and welcoming. Her English was good and she did everything to make our evening special. Last night we had an equally lovely waiter. His English wasn't quite as good as hers, but he was trying very hard and explained that he's trying to learn English. He also made our evening very special. We would most definitely recommend Chivita!!!
