    Great outside tables!
    Mikey H.

We were meeting up with my friend's niece and she suggested here since it's in her neighborhood. It's a dive with some tables out in front. Drinks are strong! They have a number of TVs and a baseball game appeared to have everyone's attention. It started to rain and the bartender motioned us to come in. Very cool that he allowed Cako to be inside. We ended up eating there since they are adjacent to Kouzina's, and the small bar menu Angelo's has is cooked at Kouzina's. It just made it easier than going elsewhere. Great little hamburgers with my favorite crinkle fries. We also ordered some large mozzarella sticks. Everything was great, especially for a dive bar! Okay, now it starts to get entertaining. A young woman was feeling pretty good and teaching Cako "how to spell"...LOL! It was all very amusing! Also, the worker from next door brought Cako some peanut butter dog treats that were just out of the oven. This is really a fun place to start your night! And Cako Approves!

Pamela is an excellent bartender and her crew are outstanding. I would highly recommend this establishment for a good time and feeling! The service I receive here time and time again is above average and very much so personable, real people, real bar. Last of a dying breed.

This review is for the new, 2017 expansion of Angelo's Bar (which has been there for as long as I can remember) into the restaurant space (formerly Fado) next door. Now Greek food is the order of the day. All in all, it was perfectly good, but the default accompaniment is to get fries with my gyro, and my wife received them as well with her souvlaki. The fries were great (crinkle cut, with tzatziki that made for lovely dipping), but I probably would have preferred a Greek salad or some other side instead. The salad was available, but for an extra charge. So, all in all, I was quite happy with my meal, though it didn't seem like the value that I tend to associate with Greek food. On the plus side, they had a lovely selection of beers to go with the meal, and I was informed that mixed drinks are also available from the bar half of the establishment. And the baklava made for a terrific dessert.

Had a great time watching the sunset while drinking a beer and eating delicious fries at Angelo's today. The live music was cool, the bartender was great, and the beer was cheap! 3 dollar micro brew specials. I am quite impressed with this place and I'm glad I live close by!

That is, until you turn your attention to the wedge of a jojo next to that beautiful wet-tshirt-contest winner. And by wedge, I mean you could park a god damned RV on the bank-iest bank of the Willamette, put one of these under a rear wheel, throw the RV in neutral, and open a trampoline park inside. If you canceled the lease on Playdate PDX and are reading this, don't steal my idea, you prick. Anyway, I digress. Potato jojo wedge. Back to it. I brought home some as leftovers three months ago and my eight year old is still tunneling through them like she's a mole dropped into some f-ed version of Candy Land. Look, I know the fine bartenders here promise chicken and jojos the same way cable promises service: it'll arrive somewhere between the hours of 6 and 10:00 PM. But sit your ass in the chair, get a PBR and wait. Because, much like the bygone era of cable, when the boob shows up uncensored, late at night, and wrapped seductively in paper and BBQ sauce (don't judge me! You tuned in too!), you weren't thinking of the guy with the extra long butt crack and ill fitting button up. Oh no, my friend, you were thinking about the sauce. My friends were at the bar and I managed to get a seat next to them. I was smart to ask my friend to place a food order since they are known for hot fried food to take their time. I ordered a drink and caught up with my friends. There were complimentary treats which I gladly enjoyed. Once my food arrived, I enjoyed the jo jo's with buffalo dipping sauce as my go to. The fried chicken hits the spot and the staff is very friendly. It was great seeing 2 people working instead of just 1 person doing everything. My order was affordable too once I closed my tab. Old Portland for the win once again and will continue to support, cheers!

Three big pieces with the perfect crunch. I got franks hot sauce and blue cheese as the dip. I'll probably get two of Franks hot sauce next time. They tasted like quality chicken that was juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries came with it and they were on the salty side but not bad. Definitely would return for the chicken tenders! There is a huge lovely patio that doesn't feel like you're as close to busy Belmont as you are. I got fried pickles and a diet coke for my short visit. Most of the menu is fried/salty bar food - burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. They've got happy hour that offers a few bucks off certain items.
