My review is solemnly on the doctor and the office space. This is located in a great shopping plaza. Right on the corner so ample parking. The office space great - it is very clean and modern. Very updated. This was my first visit so I got there 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork and I was taken inside right away at 1:45pm - my appt time. I was asked a few questions by the doctors assistant nurse and then within 10 minutes he was in. He looked over my face which is the only thing I was in for he gave me his recommendations and I was on my way. I personally prefer this quick in and out method as I have no time to spend chit chatting with my doctor about the weather. He was personable and friendly and had good bedside manner. After all the wonderful reviews he got I'm trusting and feel pretty confortable that what he suggested will work and in 4 months when I go back I can update my review. Upon leaving you recieve a cute little gift bag. Very thoughtful and well presented. I do have one issue but I decided this review shouldn't be based on that - the front desk ladies need to remember they are the face of this doctor and his clinic. When a new or old customer walk in they set the tone for the visit. Maybe they were having an off day but to me -that's irrelevant. I was doubting choosing the doctor based on the first ten minutes of me sitting in the waiting area but luckily he changed my mind. I'm use to walking in to a facility (my other doctors and even my parents doctors) and being greeted with a pleasant and warm welcome - correct me if I'm wrong but this should be the case everywhere - period. read more

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL has meant keeping a close eye on my fair skin. Dr. Ayar has been --BY FAR-- the most intelligent, CONSIDERATE and action-oriented Dermatologist I've ever met. This guy is NOT some quack or shyster who presents himself in a haste and/or with an uninterested demeanor. In fact, I was so impressed with my initial visit to Dr. Ayar that I brought my mother to his office for a comprehensive skin exam. The same day of my mother's visit, Dr. Ayar performed multiple skin biopsies and he ultimately caught + eradicated a Squamous Carcinoma lesion! Needless to say, Dr. Ayar has patients for life via myself and my family! Ten stars!!! read more

I LOVE this office. I found them online researching reviews and I saw Dr.Ayar was highly recommended. The office staff is always more than nice and kind. I never am waiting long to be seen and I am in and out because he's that GOOD. Knows exactly what he's talking about and gives an ample amount of suggestions and options to help with my concerns. I have been struggling with acne for 10 years. Been on every medicine and topical treatment u can think of and nothing has given me such quick and noticeable results then what Dr.Ayar prescribed for me. I'm more than happy with how my skin looks and can't wait to continue coming here so we can keep improving it. I legit get maybe one or 2 pimples now a month and usually around my period. I get compliments on the daily how clear and nice my skin is and I never thought I would get here. I'm more than appreciative for Dr.Ayar and highly recommend him!! read more

The only good review on here was probably posted by a staff member because this doctor visit was the worst I have ever experienced. I was looking to go to a dermatologist to get something to treat the acne on my face. This was not my first specialist office visit and I made sure to make my appointment early at 8:30AM. There was no other patients when i checked in at 8:15 and I was seen by the doctor at 8:45. I didn't see the doctor for more than 2 minutes. He came in rushing, looked at my skin for 3 seconds, told the assistant what to prescribe for me and he was ready to walk out. I stopped him and I was like " um ok so what's going on with my skin and what are those medications you prescribed? " And he seemed annoyed that I wanted to ask him questions even though I was paying him for his service. He did not seem to care at all about my visit. He was extremely flustered and rushed and he did not inform me of what was going on with my skin. The assistant told me to use the benzoyl peroxide twice a day every single day, which is odd because usually patients are told to ease into the benzoyl peroxide medication. Besides the visit being inadequate, the high dosage of benzoyl peroxide that he prescribed me gave me a benzoyl peroxide burn after 6 days of using what he prescribed. It has been 1 week since my visit and my face is in extreme pain and I am basically suffering from a 1st degree burn. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. read more

I find it interesting that someone else recently reviewed and felt my same exact sentiment. Dr. Ayar himself is great and I needed a trusting dermatologist close to home that could help with some small issues I have had for many years. I have been to the office a total of 4 times, and my first time was a good experience for the most part. The office is clean, and the Dr. is friendly, and seems to know his stuff. However, between phone calls to book appointments, price changes happening on treatments AFTER the fact of being consulted and quoted, and my most recent visit that I was cancelled after rushing to the office with 2 kids in the car after a 4 hour long drive, only to be confronted with attitude by front office staff, I will never return and don't recommend this particular location. Mind you, I was about 7 minutes late for a 3:40 PM appointment (yes I apologized for that upon walking in) but had a car sick kid and had just driven 4 hours rushing to get back to the area to make my appointment...When I got in, the office was packed, the girl "Jenny" upfront told me she cancelled me (CANCELLED me after 7 minutes) and I did not get a courtesy or any understanding. When I advised her of my circumstance, I was told she couldn't give me a wait time, and then the Dr. was in surgery. In surgery??? It is a standard office, not a hospital. And if really the case, why would he have a surgery booked during my appointment time anyway and that of the others sitting and waiting? You don't cancel someone within 5-7 minutes, have a full office, then magically send the doctor in for a "surgery" all in that timeframe....unless you were always planning to keep all the patients there waiting anyway. Assembly line medical system....no surprise there... None of it made any sense...But that wasn't even my biggest issue, it was the fact that after expressing my frustration with the treatment I got from this girl, their office manager pulled me in to a back office (I felt like I was going to detention in grammar school). What in the world??? I told her they need better customer training and she said she was particular and they needed this and that from me upfront...Basically give them the co-pay, and forgo the fact I was greeted with a CRAP attitude and make the patient/customer feel like they are at fault or to blame for the shortcomings of their own staff. While I do recommend the doctor himself, I highly advise that he reconsider the type of staff he hires for front office. I have NEVER met such rude women in any office I have been to all my life. Front office staff should be warm, welcoming and helpful, and majority of them were none of the above. I walked out yesterday, followed by another older woman with the same thoughts who said she hated the ambiance because of the staff. Another sitting down told me the same in Spanish that she had been multiple times, and could hear the girls on staff talking about patients and gossiping. How lovely...It is sad to be honest, that places like this take their positions for granted. I know plenty of people who need a good job right now that would be willing to work upfront and at leats give people respect they deserve with some understanding (HUMANITY it is called). I won't be returning and will now have to locate a better office nearby. If my insurance is going to be billed and I am going to pay hefty co-pays, it should be to an office with staff that deserves to have my business because that's what it is at the end of the day. You are treating human beings and gaining their trust AND their insurance money, and then some. Courtesy goes a long way and I will leave any establishment where staff is sub par and rude. Like another here, I am giving the DOCTOR my review, but as for the total experience of the office and staff, and the fact I won't be a returning patient, I would rate 2 stars at most. I wasted a rushed 4 hour trip, for a booked appointment with my kids and husband waiting in the car, only to have to leave anyway and not even be seen or cared for with the issues I needed desperately addressed. I have been going to Dermatology Experts and have been a patient of Dr Angelo Ayar for a long time. He has provided treatment and medical care second to none. His attention to detail and genuine concern and care for his patients is refreshing in today's world. His staff is so nice and warm and friendly that it makes going to the doctors office a nice pleasant experience. I would with out hesitation recommend.
