I have really fluttery eyelids so getting lash services are always a hit or miss; the only other time I got a lash lift the technician got the chemicals in my eyes and it was really unpleasant. I liked the attention to detail and the scalp analysis. The scalp massage is the stuff that dreams are made of. Her hands were magic and I drifted off to sleep without even knowing. The heated table you lay on during your service also adds in to the comfort of your experience as well. The only thing I didn't like is due to the small space, it's a pretty open area so you can hear things going on around you which can take away from the serene environment they're trying to create. Overall, I will definitely return, it's one of the most relaxing things I've done in awhile.

Lexi is THAT gal! I spent the better part of a week scouting stylists and I knew she was it. So I go to AV Beauty and it is the cutest freaking thing! It's essentially one big room and it makes you instantly feel connected because the waiting area is right there in the action. (I'm an introvert and might be turned off by this somewhere else but it was awesome!) Lexi was so sweet from the first second - offered me a drink, caught the vision from my reference photos right away, and was super upfront about managing my expectations with what we could achieve in one session. (spoiler alert: she definitely under promised and over delivered). Ya'll, I have a LOT of THICK hair! Like, you have no idea. I typically spend a whole day at the salon and I was there for seven hours and my homegirl, Lexie, did not quit! She was amazing. She wants to make sure it's complete top quality and she's put her whole heart into it before you leave her chair. One of my favorite parts was that the other stylists and clients are all in the same space and it was basically one big hang out. Kinda the same charm as an old school barbershop where everyone chats together but with way more style. I left there feeling like I was one of the gang and it was my first time there! I had no issues initially booking for my date (about a year in advance) - and I was even able to make adjustments to my total number of attendees up until the final payment was due (about a month before the big day). We scheduled my hair/makeup trials in July - which seemed a bit far out from our November wedding day at first, but actually ended up being perfect! There's so much running around that happens within the month leading up to the big day, that it was nice to have this all taken care of well in advance. I worked with Alli for hair and Jasmine for makeup - and they were both absolutely incredible! Not only were they masters of their respective crafts - but they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. It was also so nice to already have made a connection with both of them during the trials - because it made seeing them both the day of the wedding like re-connecting with an old friend. We ended up hiring an additional hairstylist/makeup artist for the day of the wedding as well - which I highly recommend if you have a larger wedding party/group of family getting ready. If we hadn't brought in the additional assistance - we would've had to begin getting ready much earlier. Instead - we were able to start around 11 a.m., and wrap up for photos at 2:30 p.m. For exceptional service, stellar communication, and competitive prices, I highly recommend booking with Brideface for your big day!!

I do not wear a lot of makeup, mostly because as I've gotten older I have just gotten lazy. However, we Asian girls NEED our eyeliner, and I don't care what anyone says, ain't a woman alive who doesn't look better with a smidge of makeup on. So women who brag that they don't wear makeup - 'BYE FELICIA. Time and time again, MAC products demonstrate why they are superior to just about any of their competitors. I've been using their products since I was a college student - I chose to spend my spare pennies on Plushglass, not beer;) and I just love them. Specifically, MAC makes quality lip products and eye shadows. They smell wonderful, don't damage my skin, they aren't unreasonably priced, their staying power is unbeatable, the packing is tasteful but distinct, and their blendable, subtly multi-tonal colors are gorgeous. Although they aren't cheap products, I don't feel ripped off and the products last me A LOOOOOONG TIME. I think it's because I don't have to use a lot to build intensity, plus I I never have to touch-up because their stuff stays put without breaking out my skin. I betray my frugal, discount-loving side with my fondness for MAC. There are no discount cards or rewards points program. The loyalty program is kind of nonexistent (return 6 empty containers = 1 free lipstick) but I don't cry about it. What I do get 90% of the time is an actual skilled MUA who knows what s/he is talking about. I have always liked the company's nonchalantly rebellious stances on raising AIDS awareness funding and LGBT rights. And the makeup just plain kicks arse. Uh, yeah, so if you shop at one of the two MAC counters at Kenwood, they're both pretty good, and they both seem to run out of the same products at the same time. Nordstrom is definitely a bit sexier (Macy's, get a facelift alreadyyyyyy, you still look so Miracle on 34th Street-old school). But at Macy's I was helped by this fabulous girl named Ginie, she was a living, breathing doll and the EPITOME of customer service. She was sweet, helpful, patient, made excellent suggestions (I bought all three of her suggestions). And when the counter didn't have an item I wanted she first called Nordstrom's MAC counter to see if they had it in stock (they didn't, *sigh*), then she had it shipped to my house free of charge. So yes, Kenwood. Macy's. MAC. Entire paycheck. Ginie. Huggable in Rich Marron. You're welcome.
