I love Angelina's! I've been going here for about 5 years- I used to work very near here and we probably had lunch from here four days a week. It's a small counter-only neighborhood place, with the nicest people working there including the guys behind the counter- always a smile! They deliver locally and take online or phone orders, too. There's a solid menu- pizza (including by the slice!), hot & cold subs, calzones, salads, burritos and quesadillas, wings, pasta dinners, and the ubiquitous drinks from a cooler. I think what makes me remember I need to go there now, is the slices of pizza- so good! Big slices of thin NY-style crust, gooey cheese, nice balanced tomato sauce, and served on a couple of paper plates. On my deathbed, this is the pizza I'll be asking for! Because on my deathbed, I won't be having a salad, as good as they are here - cheese slices for me! This is not Papa Gino's pizza. And the subs are big, stuffed full and delicious. It all explains why the tiny parking lot is jammed with local workers beginning at 10am every day- who doesn't want a big BLT at 10am?? This place is a little gem for East Braintree and surround areas. The food is great and has gotten a lot better over time. There is no real local sub and pizza shop around that is as good. I like the Italian and steak/cheese subs and Cheeseburgers. The grilled chicken Caesar salads are the best and we order them regularly. The pizza is also high quality and my grandkids love it. The staff is busy and courteous, plus they are fast. What more could you want? read more

Most recently I've purchased a chicken bomb sub only to find I was given a chopped up breaded chicken patty that was As dry as a friggin paper towel. Absolutely DISGUSTING. My work was looking for a place to deliver sandwiches for the office, we had about 18 people. After getting an estimated delivery time of 2 hours we called Angelina's and ordered their jumbo subs which was 4 small subs in a bag. They were able to make and deliver the food within 40 minutes. The freshness of these sandwiches was unbelievable. The bread was soft and delicious and the ingredients that made up each different kind of sub were also high quality. Long time customer I ordered a steak and cheese tonight for $17 there was some cheese but very dry. I'm not sure if it was cooked on the grill or in a microwave. Today I was told that my credit card didn't work... it had been on file since the service was available. I had to repeat the order 10 and still got 1 of 3 subs wrong... Sad but I done... good luck! This place needs a good North End chef. The original owners are gone and they were the original value as the food was great then. This place will be history in short order unless they understand that and do what has to be done. The ice cream is not going to carry it either, and saying that, it should be soft-serve. It used to be really good. But I'm not impressed with them any more. Also, tipping is asked for when you order. I tip heavily when in a restaurant, but I dont tip for fast food. I know fast food workers are not making 3 bucks an hour like real waitstaff do as they depend on tips for their salary. Besides Fast food places do not seat me at a linen-covered table, nobody comes to take my order, or give me water, or deliver my meal on porcelain plates, or take my plates away, or for ask if they can get me anything else.... it's fast food and I don't tip for fast food. I dont tip the grocery store clerks for packing my food bags. I dont tip the gas pump guy for putting gas to my car. I dont tip the bank teller for helping me with my banking. Their chicken fingers are good and you can get double fries. It's alot of fries for me to eat. But you can feed 2 people with that dinner. The chicken is still good if you warm it up the the oven the next day. read more

Very hidden gem of Braintree. I have not tried anything else but their subs. So my opinion on their subs are that make it the best around this town. They do not cut any corners, the portion is beyond adequate, time they serve you is incredible. Definitely check this place out if you are around this area. Horrible. Horrible service. I ordered a grilled chicken teriyaki plate less than a month ago for $11.00 and today I am charged $15. I asked the guy who picked up when did the prices change and he responds "I don't know" in such a flippant tone that it made me assume he is pre-charging me tip or charging me more because I am paying with a CC. Otherwise, why the hostility and snippy tone? This is where I feel as though he started it, just saying. So I ask, "Well, who would know?" and he responds "Look, do you want the order or not?" I reply, "Yes but that has nothing to do with the question I asked you so who would know when they changed?" "The owner." "And, who is that?" "Steve." "How can I contact Steve?" Here, he actually yells "I don't know! Do you want the order or not?" "You work there but you don't know how to contact the owner?" He is still yelling at this point. "I am Steve! Do you want the order or not? I don't care!" "I already said I wanted to order but, again this has nothing - " "Here is what I am going to do. I am canceling your order. I don't even care!" and hung up on me. Now, trust me, if I was being snippy or rude FIRST, I wouldn't have posted a review because customers aren't always right but he didn't need to be like that. Steve, the supposed owner, is a completely miserable person who shouldn't answer the phone, ever. I read other reviews, after the fact of course, and the summaries is the same "good food but expensive and terrible customer service." I like their food but pizza joints are a dime a dozen around here. No one should get rewarded with hard earned money when they treat customers this way. Lets start by saying I used to love this place, but the quality and service is not what it used to be. With that said... I still love their pizza and will go back for it from time to time. When I was there in April, I got some slices, but the crust and bottom were burnt. I actually didn't say anything until I bite into a cold egg and pepper sub (supposed to be a hot sub). The pepper was not cooked well. No problem, I politely asked if they could throw it in the oven for a few minutes to heat it up. One of the line cook lady asked, "what do you mean it is cold?" I said, I was expecting this to be a hot sub. The lady still wasn't impressed until the cashier finally said, "just make him another one." I said, no need, just warm up this one. Then today, a customer came to pick up a salad and returned to say there is no feta cheese. The guy used his gloved hand to dig around a bit and said they are at the bottom. The customer agreed but said "but last time it was missing!". Obviously this happened before as people don't normally check their food until they get home. Some of the worst pizza we ever had. One was eggplant and the "eggplant" was not fresh, it was deep fried cutlet pieces that literally had no discernible eggplant in it. Think pizza covered in deep fried breading. The second pizza was veggie and none of the veggies were truly fresh. Think canned mushrooms. We had heard good things, and we wanted it to be good as they are local, but we were really let down and won't be giving them a second chance. read more

I ordered online, paid online as well. That is convenient in today's day and age. I give this two stars as I ordered a tuna sub, celery in the tuna, yet the menu had no mention of this. Also ordered a meatball sub, canned mushrooms slapped on the top, soggy bread and barely any cheese. The pizza is good though, but for the price and the quality I'd rather not drive 15 mins out of the way. They used to be the best place around with homemade meatballs and sauce. The pizza's good, most of the subs are good, but holy crap....they really need to get someone with a better personality to answer the phone/run the register. On more that one occasion (and more than one employee--not always the same person; apparently all their register staff is miserable), the girl answering the phone has the personality of a wet mop. I've never heard someone more seemingly annoyed with customers in my life..like how dare i call to order a pizza at lunch time. I mean, this person is the first contact your customers have with your business--would it kill her to have some inflection in her voice and not talk in a monotone?
