Unfortunately their expiration date is just several months from now, and meanwhile each bottle has 250 pills (admittedly the suggested dosage is 3 pills at-a-time, but still....). There's no way we'd consume anywhere near 500 of those pills by their expiration date, so I wanted to exchange them for bottles that have a more reasonable expiration. Today I had a medical appointment just one block from this store, and fortunately there were (just) two bottles available - and their expiration date was *much* more generous. I went to the cashier's counter, and the cashier explained that she needed to have a supervisor handle the exchange (and I'd brought my receipt with me). The shift supervisor was inexplicably *nasty* and from the very beginning. She told me she couldn't do an "even exchange" because the flavor was different than the ones I'd purchased (?!) - so she said I'd have to return the ones I'd bought and then purchase the other ones. I told her that I'd used a discount coupon when making the purchase, whereas a "new" purchase would *not* provide the discount. She continued being nasty and suddenly disappeared, and then she *finally* reappeared many minutes later. At that point she told me she'd confirmed with the store manager what she'd told me - but she should have had the courtesy to at least tell me why she was suddenly leaving, and her nastiness was totally inexcusable. Now I'm going to contact the CVS Customer Service Department, but I shouldn't have to waste so much time re: this situation - and most importantly, CVS shouldn't have an employee who's so nasty. (The only reason why I'm giving two stars instead of one is because a very pleasant employee helped me find the location of the pills).

Told me I can't move prescriptions from a different Duane Reade (also in Manhattan) w/o losing all but one month refill order -- that the entire prescription will be automatically cancelled except for one month if I move it from one Manhattan Duane Reade to another. It's very strange. They're not unpleasant, the prescriptions get filled on time, the place is convenient and large and clean. We've had no real problems and even like the place -- it's just that the information is often wrong! They seem to have hired a few new people recently. Maybe they'll improve things.

Never send any information to your doctor but assure you that they do. Making preauthorisation process for a medications a disaster by not using the systems all other pharmacies using. As a patient trying to get a medication , you always have to wait , some of the staff is not trained and doesn't know how to communicate with customers. Was told to wait 15 minutes , waited for 30 , when i came to ask about my medication, the other pharmacy staff member told me that he knows nothing about it and no one even started preparing it. "You want to leave or wait for your medication"? Not a sorry for the wait or inconvenience they don't really care. It is a great place if you want to loose an hour trying to get 1 medication that been prescribed a week ago and speak with rude untrained staff.
