An hour later, after Dr. Rana Skaff had pronounced "root canal, retreatment" of my bottom R rear molar, I was headed to Dr. Jack Yu and his team of pros at Grandview Endodontics. Everyone that I interacted with, from Office Manager DARLENE to dental nurses JUDY and UELSY to the (very) good doctor himself were consummate pros. They nimbly squeezed me in for a 1:30pm appt despite never hearing of me til 10:30am. They took their diagnostic X-Rays with gentle yet efficient care, treating the swollen, painful tooth; the pain so gnarly it was radiating to my jaw bone and pulsing in perfect synchronized time w/ my heartbeat. Dental Nurse Judy and Dr. Yu work beautifully together! Watching them -eyeballs close yet strangely detached due to multiple rounds of local anesthesia administered- is like watching an orchestra. Each person anticipating the other's need then flashing forward to meet it. I was in the chair, from diagnostic X-Rays to finance/insurance docs to actual treatment, from 1:45pm til 3:35pm. Time immeasurably well spent considering the world of misery I was in for the preceding 48hrs 'til I could get treatment. Pro Q- Is it meeeh or do most infections requiring root canal start on the weekend, when the vast majority of dentists/endodontists are unavailable?! Pro Tip- Dr. Yu is a major proponent of utilizing Gentle Wave / Clean Flow technology as an accompaniment to his root canals. Let him!!! Worth the peace of mind and reduction in post-canal complications. I'll recap this review by paraphrasing the Dos Equis Cerveza guy. You know, the wizened Hemingway doppelganger who dispenses critical axioms under the veil of his being -why, of course!- "The Most Interesting Man in the World!" "I may not always choose to squander the day strapped to an endodontist's chair getting a root canal .... but when I do, it'll be with Dr. Yu!"

Thankfully my dentist office referred me to Upland Endodontix. I thought I had to call them but to my surprise I received a call from the best front desk team, Ashley and later Alexis. They scheduled me for 3 PM originally. They were already booked and I was a referral. I told Ashley I was in so much so if they had a cancellation please call me. I hung up and wondered how I could make it until 3 PM, it was 8:30 AM. I prayed for strength to endure the pain until then and 5 minutes later I received a call back from Alexis telling she mentioned my pain to Dr. Byun who is God sent and he told me to come in immediately. When I walked in I was greeted by the epic duo team Ashley and Alexis. Savannah came and greeted me just as I sat down. She took me back to the room and took X-rays. She was extremely gentle as she manuevered the machine. Dr. Byun walked in afterwards and asked me about my pain. His bedside manners are awesome. He listened intently and proceeded to trouble shoot to find the root of the problem. Ironically I had to get a root canal. Between Dr. Byun and Savannah, the procedure was expertly performed. From the time I walked in until the time I left out I was treated like I was the only person there. Thank you for relieving my pain while making me feel like royalty. My father has a complex medical history and difficulty tolerating long procedures. Dr. Chen was extremely patient and professional. The root canal was done on a tooth under an existing bridge, which required great skill, and the procedure went smoothly with minimal discomfort. My mother also had a root canal on a wisdom tooth on one side. Dr. Chen handled it with great care, and her recovery was smooth. Thank you as well to Dr. Leong for the additional care and support, and special thanks to the front desk ladies for being so kind and helpful with appointments and paperwork. What an amazing experience…read more I walked into the office of a maxiofacial surgeon expecting to get my tooth pulled that day. The surgeon explained that because of my age, I would not be able to receive an implant until 10+ years and that I would run into issues with that tooth if I decided to pull it so early. He then referred us to RC Endodontics for an emergency root canal. I walked in terrified because of the poor thoughts on root canals and the issues that could arise later from failed root canals or root canals in general. They got me into the office in about 30 minutes, which was wonderful because I had been losing sleep over this tooth and experiencing horrible ear aches and jaw pain for days. They took a look at the tooth and saw that I had bone loss and a severe infection through that part of my jaw and tooth. Dr.Parmer was extremely kind and helped with my worries and concerns without judging. She performed the procedure and injected me multiple times to make the procedure more comfortable. It's been about 3 months since I've received it and I'm no longer in any pain and my bone has gone back to its normal state. I am so grateful for such a kind office and such a well done procedure. Since I get regular cleanings and checkups on my teeth, I didn't think much of it until I started feeling some incredibly intense jaw pain all of a sudden early summer, and for a more than a couple of weeks, I relied on Advil, soft foods at room temperature, and late night video game binges to distract me from the immense discomfort I was going through. I was eventually referred to by my dentist to Valley Green Endodontics and boy am I glad he did. There appeared to be a hard to spot (even by x-ray) hairline crack in a tooth that was found only by removing the filling...and thus the root canal proceeded thereafter. Now, I gotta admit I am terrified of having any work done on my teeth due to - I get incredibly anxious feeling trapped in the chair with the sound of a drill going on. But I was lucky enough to get Dr. Chun, who is as kind and reassuring as she is really knowledgeable as well as super skilled and steady with her tools. She communicated well with me what would happen each step of the way and I felt absolutely no discomfort whatsoever throughout the entire process. Her assistant was also incredible as well. The rest of staff was incredibly nice and easy to talk to and I was happy that my pain - as well as any very mild swelling due to the root canal that happened - subsided pretty quickly. I do need to note although insurance covered a good portion of the root canal, it did not cover the Gentle Wave treatment, which I still thought was worth it for the more thorough cleaning. The numbing shots did not hurt one bit, and all the office's workers, from the front desk lady to the people who help scan x-rays, are kind and considerate. They are amazing at remembering names and send necessary paperwork and images to your regular dentist quickly. I loved the dental care package, Tylenol pills, and instructional guide provided at the end. Also, my lips were not dry after this procedure, and the numbing is going down very well.
