I…read morecannot speak to the quality of their work, but what I can say is that of all the mechanics I've been to, none have even come close to being as predatory as Rob's. My single mother took her car in for an oil change and a general service. She came to me and asked me to look over their recommended repairs after they claimed she needed a $4,000 fix. The list of repairs they recommended did not have any pricing written on it. Their $4,000 repair was quoted between $350 and $800 at other mechanics. On top of that, they tried to get her to agree to repairs without hearing the price first - an illegal act. I stopped them and asked for prices. They were going to charge her $100 for an engine air filter. When called out, they said it must be an error and they reduced their price to $70. I said no and did it myself for $20 and 5 minutes of my time. That was only one of their recommended repairs. We will be going to another mechanic for the major repairs. I am reporting them to the consumer protection agency for whatever good that will do. Long story short, their name is apt. They will try to rob you. Before accepting any work from them, get a quote for the repair in question and ask a couple other mechanics if it is fair. Or at the very least, ask a friend, family member, or even your favorite AI assistant. Just whatever you do, do not blindly accept their suggested repairs.

My truck didn't have a problem with the throttle body before his manager he wouldn't even let me speak with, called to say it needed replaced or rebuilt assured me that is what was making it stall in turns and at idle after warming up. Which was my only issue when I brought it in on a recommendation by a more reputable tire center. After three times back in three days, it lacked power and still idled way higher than 700, 1300-1400! With constant hesitation, nearly stalling from a dead stop just throttling up, coughing and wheezing. Three people worked on it. One said it's a carburetor (!) and that one also used a large drill bit to send aluminum shavings all over the intake manifold in front and over the engine. I got barely made it home the third day, after they reset timing 20 degrees retarded, and this is why the second Napa warranty shop which it turned out they would not warranty Andrew's deplorable services, they thought the *mechanic drilled into a factory original cap over an air flow adjustment screw, and messed up the original GM factory TBI air setting. Rob's Auto closet to my home is where they found these glaring issues. Also I called NAPA corporate and they made a claim and when no one called me relisted it urgent and notified their managers of Andrew's breaking my family's only vehicle. At home I barely turned the throttle to heat the wheezing and sputtering up close and the TBI exploded in my face. I called again for a fourth return and asked for a tow. Andrew became enraged and started screaming at me over the phone how my truck is a piece of shit etc etc I hung up and called Rob's who tried and got it better but I think the injectors Andrew used we're worse than the originals. They probably came from a scrap yard for all I know. But drilling a hole in the TBI and setting timing badly and then not owning up or making it right, tells me Andrew's "nappy" and Napa themselves too, are to be avoided if you love your car much as we love ours. I'll post an update after taking it to DEQ not to pass because although it would have before I know it won't now. It's not even getting good fuel mileage and I just tuned it up including decarbing the TBI and checking for leaks and the spray which looked great, just before bringing it in for something they had no intention of even diagnosing. Here are some photos of how it looked after Andrew's and Rob's, on 224, who looking at how they replaced the air filter cover. As crooked and squashed as they set up my K&N it took me over an hour to straighten and put it in better. I also found bits metal from the hot air duct in and under the filter, which concerns me too. But the problem isn't better, it still misses just not as much, and still stalls too, and lacks power just as much. You hear a sound in the cab like lifters but duller. I imagine some bit of the duct metal got lodged in one of the intake ports if not a cylinder. By the time we are threw, it'll be a new TBI, including new injectors, a new intake manifold, and possibly new heads, pistons and crank! I feel like I have a solid case for taking these fools to court. Considering they assured me it was the TBI and that if not they would find out and fix whatever it was. But we had a good running truck with only a few minor issues. I tried to explain. Neither shop listened. They did it their way. Now, someone is going to pay.
