They did a great job taking my family's portrait. But the reason for this low rating,...they game me a frame that was scratched.

Had some pictures taken and I'm very happy with the result. The owner made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted.

Jashim Jalal Studios - Portrait session after their ceremony

We struck wedding-photographer-gold with Jashim, no question! Super talented, has a great eye for…read moreinteresting, creative (but not overly artsy) shots. Our wedding pictures are fantastic! A combo of non-cheesy poses, fun candids + simple décor shots. With the posed shots, it took a while to trust Jash's directions (2 one-hour pre-wedding sessions actually!). Poses felt awkward. But he knows what he's doing; the pictures came back looking natural. Without those sessions to allow us to get used to the camera, the wedding day would've been a lot less comfortable. The day-of, Jashim arrived + went straight to work. Other than the few times he purposely pulled us aside to get specific shots, he went unnoticed. We went about our evening; he captured it all without getting in the way. His turnaround is fast. He had a few teaser pictures on his blog within 2 weeks, the balance online 2 weeks later. His prices are very fair + competitive. He made himself available, easily reachable to answer questions, bounce ideas off of, etc... Didn't show any impatience/frustration (even though I was a very needy bride!). Having first obsessed over Jash's blog and now our pictures, I can tell that in addition to his style and to some degree his personality, he also reflects the couple's personality in each pic very well. He doesn't take cookie-cutter pictures, and while there is definitely a common Jashim thread, they are all very different from each other. I know ours represent us and our wedding perfectly. The one thing I would maybe complain about now (if this even is a complaint) is that the pictures are so great, I can't get enough of them and I want more, more, more!!! Couldn't be happier with Jashim. We had high expectations; with no videographer, it was crucial that the photos come back PERFECT! He didn't just meet them; he exceeded them by far. Will be recommending him for years! Bottom line, if he's available on your wedding day, you would be a fool not to hire him!

This post comes a little late but nonetheless I wanted to make sure I spread the word about how…read moreamazing it was to work with Jashim. We were fortunate to have been selected as part of a trial run in his family documentary section, and I will say that this guy definitely knows what he's doing and has not only an eye for quality but a passion for photography that's clear in each image he captures! Jashim spent a long long day with us as a family, and that's not always easy for someone who isn't use to being around children. Immediately he took the time to connect with my kids, ages 4 and 7, and took the time to make them comfortable and put them at ease as he cautiously took snaps of them both candid and posed. He was able to capture our family dynamics, and when we looked back at the images, we were so happy with them. They were outside and beyond the typical posed family portraits, the pictures had life and a story behind it, and I can't thank Jashim enough for his hard work and efforts behind it. If you're ever in the lookout for a photographer who not only is looking to take a few pics, but wants to give you a personal experience, definitely recommend Jashim. He's highly professional yet extremely personable and the entire experience will be one to remember.

Really unfortunate that I am editing my first review, because I did have a nice first experience…read morebut with COVID this sure changed June Photography. I scheduled a session in February for March 2020, but due to COVID the session had to be canceled. I reached out to the owner June in May 2020 and requested a refund since we were moving out of state and she said no. I said okay I understand but COVID was not any of our faults, I would reschedule later when it was safe and make the few hour trip. She said, you have until June or you lose your deposit. I said what? NYC is not even in phase 1 yet at the time and it was almost June 2020. I had to fight to extend my sessions schedule time frame date to July (literally beg for this to be extended through the summer but she would not budge), and the owner did not even want to do that despite governor and mayor mandates. Anyway, I said I would drive 2 hours and make the session happen if it was safe to do so. After several emails, she finally agreed to extending the timeframe to sometime in July, and I said I would reach out in a few weeks once we know what is going on with the pandemic. Now fast forward to mid June, and NYC is still in phase 1. I emailed June Photography and asked her if we could push my session 8 days later (to August 8 or anytime after that, whatever worked for her) because I was pregnant and wanted to safely get my hair treated and be out of the dangerous first trimester I was facing as a high risk pregnant woman. I had my previous son at 33 weeks, so I am worried about pre term labor again. June said there is nothing she can do and refused to work with me to offer an August date, which is just a few days after her unreasonable July timeframe. I explained to her I have a high risk pregnancy and begged her via email to extend her unreasonable July deadline just a few days so I can keep myself and my baby safe, but no she would not. After throughly reviewing the contract, it clearly states that I have two reschedule credits (those which I never used) so she is not abiding by that part of the contract. In addition there is a clause that mentions if an emergency or act of God happens (which HELLO COVID IS a national pandemic emergency/act of God) and if we cannot agree on a date together, I am entitled to my refund back. Two options June both said she WILL NOT DO! She will not let me use my reschedule credits and will not refund despite the emergency. This is really unreasonable and so unfair given what is going on world wide. I wanted to support her business, I wanted to take the photos even if it meant driving two hours away, but she made it so hard for me to work with her. I know this is a stressful time and everyone is overwhelmed but I do not deserve to be treated this way. All I did was ask for a few days beyond the hard deadline she gave me (which she told me to schedule a session by July 31 or lose your money even though NYC was not even in phase 1 at the time and had no timeline as to when phase 1 would even begin) to make my session happen. My main concern is to keep my unborn child and I safe! If COVID was not happening or I was not expecting this would not be an issue, but unfortunately this was handled very very wrong and I plan to contact my bank regarding this transaction and provide all the emails of what happened and the contract as well. Because of this situation, I do not recommend June Photography at all and suggest you look into another for your photo needs if this is how she is going to treat her customers during a pandemic that are high risk. This pandemic surely changed her and impacted her ability to work well with her customers, which is really sad and disappointing.
