Working with June was an unexpected but most welcome blessing and surprise! I live in Hawaii and was looking through Craigslist when I happened upon her ad. She was coming to Hawaii for vacation and was looking for pregnant models to shoot! 7months at the time, This is my first pregnancy and I still hadn't had any photos taken, not even unprofessional ones so when I saw it I responded right away. We met that day for our shoot and I got to meet her amazing and wonderful family. We met with another friend of mine, and hiked into the Hawaii forest to find the spots for the shots she was looking for, and ended up shooting 3 or 4 different scenes (I brought 3 wardrobe changes so that was perfect!) and idk if there was one shot we didn't absolutely love! Elegant, natural, magical, special, breathtaking; these are all words I would use to describe the quality of her work and also her vision. I've seen a lot of maternity photography done here one the island, and I personally think they over do it - make up, jewelry, even wardrobe and the poses seem not relevant to the model being pregnant, but almost overly sexy. Not that we as pregnant moms can't be sexy, but I feel like it's a little much and that it should be more natural and focused on the sacredness of being pregnant. Which is exactly what I got with June! June herself is so kind, not to mention extremely gifted and talented as a photographer, I am still wondering how I was the only response on my island! There wasn't a moment of being uncomfortable with or by her, quite the opposite, I made some really good friends that day. That was such a magical day and experience all together! I wish she and her family could've stayed to attend and capture my home birth! If I lived in New York she would definitely be the first and only choice To work with. Love you June! I had a photoshoot with June's photography over the summer for my birthday. Let me start off by saying I am incredibly shy and awkward in front of the camera, especially when I know I'm being photographed. She had such an amazing intuition. We started off in her studio, which is very intimate. I was just too stiff, and I think it was coming out in the images, so she suggested we take the shoot outdoors which was perfect because I love to be outside. Her makeup artist did an amazing job and stayed the whole time. She would periodically retouch my makeup. The images were such a hit. For my party I had a large print displayed in the party space, and people couldn't believe I had transformed into this beautiful model. I'm so glad I was able to capture this time in my life.
