Left without complaint and attempted to fix them at home myself. But because these nails are for my engagement photos I decided it would be worth it to call and complain. Not only did they blame me, they were refused to fix them and told me I should have said something while I was there. Which makes no sense because the tach had another client waiting and did a rushed job and everyone in the shop could see the service was unsatisfactory. PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH TECHS HAVE LIMITED TALENTS!! It should not be the responsibility of the general public to determine which nail tech is the best fit for a standard gel manicure. Unacceptable.

However, I was charged $5 "to shape" my already round nails when I decided to get an acrylic overlay. How is this NOT included in proper nail care? The nail tech has to file my nails anyway. They were able to remove my old gel manicure while I was starting my pedicure which was great to decrease my time in the salon. The pedicure was fantastic and is still holding up great after 1 week. Unfortunately can't say the same for my manicure :( One nail began to peel 2 days ago (only 5 days after my service) and more has happened since. A little disappointed given it's only been a week and had my old gel on from another salon with minimal peeling for almost 4 weeks but am willing to give them another chance on the manicure since it was my first time. Despite this, it WAS $80 total for gel mani/pedi, $100 total with tip so very reasonable.

She ensured the nail shape was to my liking and she asked a few questions about my expectations of the color before applying. When I traveled to Japan and Korea earlier this year, I fell in love with the Japanese style of…read morenails, which seems more common in Asia compared to the US. I like the minimalist and modern aesthetic and use of more muted, natural colors. In Philly, I hadn't come across any nail salons that offer those kinds of designs and/or colors so, when I chanced upon O'Studio's Yelp page, I wanted to check them out. The online appointment booking process was pretty straightforward, which you complete on their website. I booked a "Gel Manicure w/ Art/Design" and "Regular/Undecided" appointment. The appointment was originally for 1 hr 40 mins and the actual appointment ended up being 2 hrs. The total cost ended up being $108 excluding tip. The design I ended up chosing was a design that's featured on their Instagram (@pipimiaonail) but opted for a different nail shape. It seems like they regularly update their Instagram so, if you're indecisive like me, that's a good place to look for inspiration. They cater towards more of a Chinese speaking clientele but they were still very English friendly. My appointment went well and you can tell that the nail techs put a lot of care and attention in fulfilling the client's nail request; my nail tech, Chelsea, regularly checked in with me to make sure the nails were to my liking. I'm very happy with how my nails turned out and I've received several compliments. If I had to make any minor comments, when my cuticles were being trimmed, I was nicked a little bit on the thumb. Also, for one of the nails that had gold glitter on it, initially, a different type of glitter was used. After it was realized that the glitter was different, the different glitter wasn't completely removed before applying the gold glitter per the design. But, those are super minor comments and overall I think a fantastic job was done. Would I go back? : Definitely! I would highly recommend their services. They are a bit on the pricey side but I think it's worth paying the extra bit of money for the type, level, and quality of service they provide. Because this was my first visit, I erred on the safe side by choosing a design they had previously done. After my positive experience, I can tell that they are very skilled and will consider requesting other outside designs in the future.

It is a clean and quiet space, which is a nice contrast to some of the budget salons in the area. They also do not accept credit cards so payment is very inconvenient if you do not have cash. The mani/pedi was the WORST I have ever received in my 20+ years of getting my nails done at other places. It looks like a child did my nails. Cuticles not fully cleaned. The polish doesn't even fully cover my entire nail surface and it looks like I've let my nails grow out for a week or two after getting them painted. Despite only applying two layers, the gel polish is very thick on my nails. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

I was so happy to be getting my nails done with the goal of coming back the next day to get a pedicure done before leaving for vacation on Saturday. I requested gel nail polish on my hands and regular polish on my toes. I was pissed 6 days later when the gel polish started peeling off my fingers. To make it worse, my pedicure with regular polish typically last 3-1/2 weeks before I need a new pedicure. The polish on my toes lasted 10 days and cracked. Then I had two different nail techs and both were rough so I did not enjoy the process. The product is terrible and I write this review primarily to remind myself where not to return. I had two back to back trips and unfortunately didn't have time to go to a new salon to get a fresh mani/pedi so I was raggedy on my second trip.
