I was in the area and had some time, and I badly needed a fill-in. So, I walked into Angel Nails. The place was empty (1st red flag) but I was happy because I didn't have to wait to be serviced. When I sat down, I noticed a horrible STENCH, like of toliet #2 permeate throughout (red flag #2). When the tech began working on my nails. I decided to go on Yelp to read the reviews (3rd red flag). The majority were HORRIBLE!!! Luckily, the nail tech who was doing my service had great reviews. I was a bit relieved. I showed her the reviews and asked why they were so bad. At first she was getting a bit of an attitude. Then, she started explaining why and shared that she was already aware of the horrible reviews. Many of her other clients, her own kids who also do Yelp reviews, informed her. Well, I requested a basic French nail tips. She did decent work, and I'm okay with the outcome. Would I return? Yes, I would if I'm in the area and have some time, and I need a another fill-in. However, I would ONLY go to Jenny!!!! Want more authentic opinions? Horrible service that started out wrong (DONT WASTE YOUR TIME)! I couldn't get to my regular nail tech in the city and decided to try this place because I had gotten a pedicure awhile ago. They assured me they knew how to do dip....my nails began to break within 3 days....went back to get it fixed....didn't matter they all began to break off! The staff is quite old and can't see too well. It not ageism--it's facts! Then the gel polish on my feet started to chip, they charge too much for both nails and feet to not last. If I could give them a zero, I would. Never have I ever had a mani-pedi where I had to tell the person to file the points off my toe nails (after they were clipped) before polishing. I also had to remind the man that he should use the pumice stone on the other foot as well. I guess because I admitted to being ticklish, he didn't think it was necessary. No lotion on either the feet or the nails was used, nor did I receive anything resembling a foot or hand rub. The mani was even worse! Cuticles are still raggedy with nail polish all around them. I wanted to scream and get out of there so badly that I didn't even wait for the polish to dry. My nails are a mess! I do a much better job on my own, which I will do when I finish the review. GO ELSEWHERE FAST! I took my daughter to have her acrylic nails removed and was told they would soak them first and it would take 45 to 60 minutes. Imagine my surprise when she called me to say she was done in less than 10 minutes. They ripped the nails off without soaking them and left the glue on. This place is horrendous. Walk in to get a mani pedi. I'm told to go right back to a massage chair. One woman tells me that she's going to be doing my nails while I'm sitting in the pedicure chair, complete with a towel and the little soaking bowl of water sitting in my lap. It spilt! And she LAUGHED! And started talking in her native tongue to everyone in the place. I was a little pissed because now my dress was wet in a very inconvenient area. She did a good job by shaping my nails, but the paint job was about the quality of a five year old. There was a glob on top coat on my pinky nail. Instead of wiping it over, she just kept layering coat after coat hoping it would go away. It didn't. SO SHE LEFT IT. I said I wanted her to re-do it, and she did, but the rest of my nails were nothing to write home about. It was an okay pedicure, but just okay -- she scrubbed at me pretty hard. While I was waiting for my nails to dry, three women came in to complain about their polish chipping/incorrectly done gel nails/etc. Basically, for the price ($34 mani pedi) it is so not worth it. I've been coming here for over a decade. Jenny has done my manicures and pedicures for most if not all big events(prom, high school and college graduation, parties, etc) and I have never had any problems. Also, I had an ingrown toenail once and she got rid of it. I see many people giving this place bad reviews but this isn't a high end salon, it's a simple salon with nice people who do good quick manicures. read more

I been there twice in less than a month because the guy who did my nails drilled them so thin they literally broke 4 days after paying him 40 dollars for a fill in. I then went back to get my broken nail fixed & he had the nerve to charge me even though I tipped him 20 dollars for the first set of cheap thin nails. Being that this is the closest nail salon to me I went back for a last minute filling and pedicure but this time I requested a different lady. My pedicure looks so unprofessional and I paid 40 dollars even though the chart says 35 for gel. I guess I was charged an extra 5 for a cut down on my toe nails which are also slanted and sloppy. The lady who did my nails tried her best to fix the terrible job the guy did but my nails still look unprofessional. I can tell they don't take this job seriously or that they simply haven't been in this industry for long .my advice to anyone else going there is to check your nails before you leave. I had a death in the family and have been super out of it lately. I'm not a confrontational person so I just decided to do a review to save someone from being ripped off. 1.5 stars for angel nails. mostly b/c of the unprofessional, and some of them disgusting, staff. -90% of the staff acts like they'd rather be anywhere else but there and was dressed like they just rolled out of bed -more than 50% of the staff didn't speak english well enough to complete a transaction/answer questions -one of the staff members was walking around the salon gnawing on a giant, greasy chicken drumstick and talking at the same time. GROSS. -another staff member pulled off her shoe and started picking her toes with some of the salon tools when she found herself w/o another customer at her station.* even MORE GROSS. -the place could use some bleach and sweeping/scrubbing -the polish selection is pathetic. very limited. -they use bunched up paper towels as toe separators. guess the little foam ones are too high class for this joint. *eyeroll* the 2nd (really only 1/2) star is ONLY b/c my pedicure, though it felt rather weak and half-assed, looked beautiful in the end. not worth the experience though. AND, it only lasted 3 days. it was cheap, so clearly i got what i paid for. won't be going back. *i realize this is a nail shop, but STILL. i mean, if you're at your dentist's office and one of the hygenists has some downtime b/w customers, do you want to see her go to town picking her teeth with some of the dental office's tools?! exactly. read more

The lady insisted I get a pedicure (um I would of asked for a pedicure if I wanted one). Strike ONE. The finish product was not good at all. Strike TWO. Upon paying for their service I asked if I could tip on my credit card because I never carry cash. The lady spoke in their language and said it would be okay but pointed at the sign that said cash only tips. Then says, "Next time bring cash, $5 dollars only." Strike freakin THREE. Service here is horrible. The lady who did my toes was very rude didn't speak to me at all. The entire shop was rude. No one greeted when I walked in. The color selection is trash! The absolute worst nail salon ever. I had been waiting all week to get a pedicure and full set I spent three hours here only to leave with a pedicure because the nail technician was incapable of doing a full set(nails were crooked she couldn't properly file them) and my pedicure my polish was coming off the next day went back to get it fixed sat under the dryer for twenty minutes just to have the same issue next day didn't even bother to go back NEVER WILL I EVER AGAIN.... Angel Nails is very convenient for me so I gave it try. Despite the negative reviews. I wasn't "wowed" by the place but it wasn't an absolute dump either. Megan is the person that gave me a mani/pedi service. It was "ok". Megan and the others mainly talked with each other, which I like. When I get my nails/feet done, I prefer a quiet time. Some like for the provider to talk to them..not me...I prefer to relax. Do I think she could have been a littleore focused on my nails/feet..yes. Did she do a decent job anyway..yes. I got a basic mani/pedi--nothing too serious. I asked for a gold accent nail and toe. She did it and I like them. My eyebrows look ok. She did a decent job. I've had better. Price was 35 for both services. They weren't rude or slow, as others stated. I'm not a fan of having my nails done at the same as feet but since I wanted a quicker service, I didn't stop her...this time. What's up with people no longer using cuticle remover?? The tech used the soapy water prior to removing cuticles?? That's the second time (different places) that's happened. I have been going to Angel Nails for several years. Frankly I have not received a better mani/pedi anywhere, I see Tom. He is extremely precise with his work and takes great pride in it. It is a great place to go - all the nail techs are friendly and welcoming of their customers. Lin paints beautiful designs on nails, Kim is always friendly and does a great job. Their prices are so reasonable. I would recommend Angel Nails to anyone looking for a place to get their nails done - gel manicures or just a regular manicure or pedicure. My husband, who is not a pedicure kind of guy - sees Sara and raves about what a good job she does. I was sad to see the bad review recently posted - it does not represent anything I have experienced at Angel Nails. I recommend it highly. read more

I have been going to Angel Nails for over 20 years. I have had nothing but professional services from all the operators there. Management is more than willing to rectify any problems the customer may experience. I have been there when customers have come back after two days with complaints and management fixed the problem without charging. **WARNING** This salon does not abide by the Md Sanitization regulations. While having a pedicure, I noticed three nail techs?? Move their dirty tool baskets from pedicure stations of previous customers to their nail stations or on the floor, out of customers view. Then when another customer comes in requesting a pedicure, the same basket of tools were used on them. None of the tools were clean with sterilization solution! I did notice the person doing my pedi rinse the callus grater while draining the water from foot bath. The service here is pretty reasonable, but not at the risk of catching a planters wart, bacteria, or fungus. read more

agree with the other reviewer.. went there because i was at Giant, thought it would be convenient location as i had moved to the area. i guess the language barrier is expected with these salons. but the place was NOT clean, did not look sanitary; the girl was clumsy and seemed completely inexperienced. I requested gel overlay because a friend suggested it was a longer-lasting method. It sucked. She obviously did not know how to do it. There were air bubbles under the gel; the gel was too thick, and eventually, it only lasted a week, less than a plain stinkin mani. Waste of time and money.
