I was told she doesn't do designs but I needed them done. True to word it was basic but still good service. Fast forward to Sunday,, one of my nails cracked in the worst place ever. I went back. Greeted the moment I walked through the door. I explained what happened and I honestly couldn't remember the lady that did my nails. I was told to have a seat. I don't know the name of the lady that assisted me today but she's and Eagles fan She asked what shape did I want as my nails were more almond shaped than stiletto.. Not only did she repair the broken nail but she reshaped and relished all of my nails. In the end she didn't charge me a dime. Of course I walk around with no cash. I left ran an errand and came back with a tip. The first thing she said when I walked back through the door is you don't have to do that. I said to her neither did you. I walked into this place, and they weren't ready at the moment but asked me to come back in about 40 minutes, which was not a problem because I was hungry and needed to get food anyway. They were only two people working in there, and both seemed really nice. And they were using Amazon music to play some amazing tunes. Amazon music is my jam! I didn't get the name of the person, but it was a relaxing experience overall. The temperature was perfect for my feet, but it was extra extra foamy. It wasn't a problem for me personally, but I felt bad about it getting on the seats, it came that high haha. And here I liked that I didn't have to move to a table for the manicure portion! It made it truly feel like a spa experience. The job was great, but later on I realized that some cuticles were handled a little more roughly than others. But she said she was having some serious pain with her hands. Hope she feels better! Anyways, I would return, because I overall like the vibe of this place better than my usual spot.

My nail tech, Lupe, is the absolute sweetest. We always catch up and laugh ("keke") whenever I'm in her chair, and she's the only person I trust with my feet. Seriously... nobody does my pedicures like Lupe. They recently moved into a new building, and it's beautiful. They're still putting the finishing touches on the renovations, but it's already a huge upgrade. One thing I especially love is that they have private service areas for clients like me who prefer a quieter, more relaxing experience instead of sitting in the middle of a crowded salon. This is my definition of self-care: sinking into one of their plush massage chairs, sipping on a mimosa, enjoying a piece of chocolate, and letting Lupe work her magic. I used to go to Chau's Nails on a fairly regular basis many years ago, but when I got diagnosed…read morewith Type II Diabetes, I was advised to discontinue this habit, as I was warned that due to diabetic neuropathy, if I got a cut between my toes and I wouldn't necessarily feel the cut due to the neuropathy, and in turn, without treatment the cut could become infected, which in turn could lead to amputation. Fast forward several years into this situation and I had my annual check-up with my Primary Care Physician for an annual Diabetic Foot Exam. During the foot exam, I mentioned how I missed getting pedicures as a personal self-care indulgence from time to time. My doctor shocked me by stating most places like this are licensed and regulated by the State, so as long as you mention that you're a Type II Diabetic when you go in, and ensure they are using sterile instruments, you should be fine! I was happy to say many of the same people were working there since the last time I was on the premises. I was greeted by May. She had me sit in one of those very cushy massage lounge chairs that vibrates and taps and knocks on your back and once my shoes and socks were removed, my feet where placed into a basin with warm water while May grabbed a sealed bag of sterile instruments that she neatly placed at her workstation. May put blue surgical gloves on her hands, placed a red towel at the top of basin and went back and forth between my feet, placing each foot up on the towel to begin clipping and snipping and cleaning up the cuticles of each toe. It really was something to watch! Meanwhile, I continued to fiddle with the massage chair remote. May placed a thin layer of oil on each toe, and the feet went back in the soothing warm water. Then the feet were back on the towel and she filed each toenail, then buffed each toe, and then used some sort of pumice on the soles of my feet (to remove dead skin). May then used a small amount of lotion to massage each leg up the calf muscles and finally added a thin layer of clear coat to each toe so every toenail looked shiny new! The regular pedicure costs $35. I was very pleased with how good my feet looked and felt compared to when I walked in, and I tipped May well for her effort. I will be back to Chau's Nails again.

They also charge more for credit cards. It was only 3 of us in there. She did an excellent job on designs. Pedi was ok. I took my own polish (that I had to open) which saves them money.
