I came in for dip powder nails and was happily surprised. This salon is in a strip mall and I had read some negative reviews and was weary on coming here. I had visited a nail salon in short pump that was extremely nice but also extremely expensive. So I was looking for somewhere else a little closer when my nails needed a refresh. They were busy when I came in and asked if I was able to wait a bit. I think it took roughly 25 minutes before they got started. The lady that did my nails was nice but she also seemed in a rush. Which I get, they were busy and she was doing two things at once. But I felt like she was a little hurried when she was dipping my nails and I had a faint pink stain on my skin from the dip just sitting there. There is also a slight bump on one of the nails which looks like there may have been too much of the clear coat sitting there.They only accept cash tip too, which isnt the end of the world, just inconvenient when I'm never carrying cash on me. She did a good job shaping my nail and keeping everything even for the most part. They also have a large selection of dip powders to choose from, which was great. Overall I am happy with my nails for the price I paid and will be back again. I think if I would have made an appointment or not come in on a Saturday afternoon she would have taken a bit more time. read more

I found this place via google while in the area and needed a dip manicure, no wait when I arrived. I was not able to get Te, as she was recommended but Nina did a decent job, she had to level my thumb nail twice per my request to make it even and I ended up filing one edge once home as i noticed it was on my skin. Nina's English comprehension is at the beginner level so I was not entertained with conversation and the TV volume was off (captions on), no music that I could hear. Quite a few "regulars" calling people by name for their appointments when they came in. I will try again when in the area. I do LOVE the dip color, they charge $40 for a dip manicure and I got a very brief hand massage, but she was good so I wanted MORE! read more

Today was my first visit to Angel Nails in Colonial Heights. I needed to get an acrylic nail fill in and 1 broken nail repaired. The nail technician's name is "Le" and I was extremely happy with her work and pleasant attitude. She was very attentive and when I accidentally smudged one nail while in the drying process, she quickly fixed it up for me....like it never happened. I called a day before to schedule an appointment, came in on time and was seen immediately. Walk-ins are welcomed too. The price, in my opinion, is fair. I included a proper tip. The place is nicely kept and clean. They offer services from nails(gel too) to pedicures, massages, eyebrow and eyelashes and more. Would I revisit Angel Nails? Yes, I would and will. read more

I went in for a simple polish change and it cost me a leather coat. In their ladies room was a candle wax pot in the electric outlet next to the sink. When I washed my hands my elbow bumped it, spilling hot wax down my leather jacket and sleeve. They apologized and said it smelled good, that was why they used it. She told me it would come off easy when it dried. They also looked at me like it was my fault. I told them they should remove it before someone gets burned or someone else's clothes get ruined. I left. They didn't offer to clean my coat or anything. 7 dollars cost me 200. My jacket doesn't have wax on it anymore you can see, but it has a weird feeling, that's oily where it was. I came here visiting from out of town on training. And decided to give this nail salon a try. I asked for a toe nail polish change and also a full set. The man that did Emmy service was so rude throughout my whole service! With the toe polish change I had to ask him if he could fix one of my toes because it wasn't painted all the way. He seemed upset that I said anything and slapped paint on there. Okay fine. Not going to be picky however, Full set: When it came time to decide on the cut I noticed my thumbs and my right index finger were cut crooked I ask him could he straighten it and yet again he had an attitude and just decided to cut only those three short. I'm not one for confrontation so I let it go. When it came down to coloring I showed him a picture of this neutral color they did on someone located in the pictures on this website and he told me ok. So the color he picked out was entirely too pink seeing as though I am in the military. He painted only one finger and I told him it wouldn't work. And that I will just go pick out another color from the wall for him to paint my nails that's more suitable for me. He let out a big puff to the pint the lady beside me receiving service looked up. While walking to go get the other color, I left my things in the chair because my service wasn't complete. He grabs my things , puts them to the side and tell someone else to come sit down so he can start their service. So I say excuse me I still need my nails finished and he tells me to sit there and wait! I'm in utter shock at how rude he is at this point and the other female working there looks up but doesn't even ask to help. He starts on the other clients nails and then comes to slap one coat of polish on my nails and tell me to go sit under the dryer! Smh this was Tuesday evening 2 May and I ALREADY have 1 nail that popped off and one coming up!! And I have literally been just sitting in a classroom learning from power points! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Please if you are in this town visiting or looking for a new nail home AVOID HERE!! I came in yesterday to get my eyebrows waxed and a full set of acrylic nails with French manicure. I was seated quickly but the woman who did my nails had no idea what she was doing. She had put my nails on crooked and I had to ask her to fix them. She didn't clean my nails properly either causing me to have acrylic stuck on my skin. She also didn't ask if I wanted my real nails cut down before putting on the acrylic. I asked her how long she had been doing nails and she claimed 2 years, but it seemed more like 2 days. She tells me to go sit under the dryer and didn't bother to put the clear coat on. I had to ask for that. As far as my eye brow waxing the woman that did that did a good job but seriously if Angel Nails don't have better nail technicians I think I'll drive to Richmond where I know of several good nail techs. read more

I go there to get pedicures. There is only one person in the shop I would recommend for this, Miss Thu (too). Spend the money and get the milk and honey pedicure. She is very nice and makes sure you are very happy with your polish, for you females. I never have to tell her where to massage I think she can feel the knots in your feet. If she has someone wait for her to finish, you will not be disappointed. She have my size 12 dogs looking right and feeling like new money. Ladies take your man and introduce him to the wonderful pedicures of Miss Thu like my wife did. read more

I really dislike writing bad reviews. I've had my share of bad experiences in nail salons with "great" reviews BUT today takes the cake. I went in for a fill-in at this location in Colonial Heights since I was over due for one and RVA Nails (my usual spot) was just too far from home. It was my FIRST time at this location. As usual, I was met with the dull "Hello, what would you like?" So, I requested a UV Gel overlay fill-in that was listed as $20 on their board. 10 minutes later, Lee, the nail tech, ushered me to sit in the chair in front of her. When she started doing the fill-in she was noticeably rough, messy, and not taking her time. STRIKE ONE. She missed parts on the sides of my nails with the "gel powder". So, I asked her could she fix it (as any other person would). She did, but did it as if she was disgruntled that I asked. I shrugged it off. Then when it came time to paint my nails, I had to ask for ANOTHER coat for the nails with glitter on them because the glitter paint was splotchy. I SHOULDN'T have had to ask. That was strike TWO. Then as to insult me, she asked me if I needed my eyebrows done.... I BARELY HAVE EYEBROWS. So, I went to dry my nails and a white lady sat in the chair next. As my nails were drying I noticed that Lee was very apologetic to the lady about having to make her wait in order to do my nails. Mind you, this lady came in right after me for a fill-in and didn't have an appointment. Lee was also so much nicer to this lady, she wasn't rough, messy, or in a rush to do her nails as she did with me. She even held a long conversation with her (I was fine without the conversation but still). HOWEVER, what really pissed me the hell off is that when I went up to pay, Lee had upped the price on me. I asked her why was it extra when she didn't have to repair or cut down my nails...She goes on to say "because pink and whit "gel" is $2 extra." I said "I didn't ask for nor did I receive pink and white "gel" and CLEARLY that isn't what is specified on the board for UV GEL..." Overtly, I didn't and wasn't going to pay that extra $2. A man working there came over and SCRIBBLED OUT THE $20 PRICE AND WROTE $22. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. WTF. STRIKE THREE. Obviously, I was treated so much different than the other women in the establishment. I just visited this place for the First and Last time. I should've known it would be a bad experience upon the less than warm reception I received walking in. They had None of the colors I picked that they claimed to offer. I asked for lavender they kept trying to give me every other color. The girl that worked there asked "do you want gel or not?", I replied I would like the color I ask for regardless of if its gel or not so I chose two colors off the wall which she said could be gel however the colors were completely off. When I stated that i disliked that because it was pink not lavender she said it was because of my nail, which was not discolored at all.No one seemed to care at all about my frustration or unhappiness. I asked for lavender tones and left with nails looking like white snow. I will Never again return and will be finding somewhere new for a color change tomorrow.
