I've been to other spas that were cheaper and friendlier and I should've kept going to them, but…read morethis one was closer since I've moved. Never again. I've been to this place a few times but I will not be going back. My last visit, I walked in and waited a few minutes. If you notice in the photos, they moved the welcome desk so now it's closer to the door - before, it used to be where the couch is. Let me be explicit - there was NO ONE in sight. The door was unlocked and the CASH REGISTER was RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR. I finally called out and a lady (I use this term loosely) came running out from the back. She had shoulder-length orange hair with blunt bangs. I was very patient with her and was willing to wait until her current client was done. I heard a man in the back, who obviously paid for a relaxing spa day, and this person was the only person in that day. But noooo. She was very rude and greedy. She was eager to help me, until she found out I already paid someone else. Then she began to make rude comments and went back to fawning over her first client while I was an afterthought. At one point, she said to me "Oh, that will be fast" and then dismissed me to another room to get ready. I had laser hair removal done. After the preparations (during which she fondled my breasts - not a big deal, maybe but other beauticians have been more considerate), she started the machine and immediately started using it, without letting the machine warm up. She did a bad job, by the way. When the hair grew back, it was uneven and she completely missed a spot. As I was checking out, she was again, rude and practically threw business cards at me. I told her she didn't give me my appointment card and she shoved the card in my face, without writing down the date. She then invaded my personal space and kept boxing me out the door, until I tipped her, which is the only other time she was nice to me. Her eyes lit up at the wads of cash and it was disgusting. Whoever the manager is, I hope you fire her. You could have been robbed and this person has poor customer service skills and was completely careless. I will NOT be recommending this place to anyone, unless I hate them.

Unfortunately, the actual experience wasn't very relaxing for me. Our room was upstairs and was extremely hot when we got there. They did turn the AC on after we asked, but it took a while for the room to cool down. The massage itself was also much rougher than I expected. I personally felt more tense than relaxed during it, and I had pretty bad neck pain the following day. I know deep tissue is supposed to be intense, but this just wasn't a good experience for me. They also charge an additional fee for paying with a card, although they accept Zelle and Cash App if you want to avoid the fee. Overall, it was okay for a Groupon experience, but I personally wouldn't go back.

But at Athena, all the masseuses are stars! They ask you your pressure preference and check in with you to ask if the pressure is okay. They are very detailed and hit all the right spots. I have knots in my traps and they usually notice and spend time working on them even if I don't mention it. After going here several times, I've never had a bad massage. Relaxing, calm, and clean environment. At ~$55 for a one hour massage, the price is amazing for the quality you get. What a great deal! The least you can do is give a good tip! Those complaining about tips... If you go anywhere else and you'd be paying over $100 for the same quality massage. Anyway, this place is my go-to so I highly recommend. They usually have same day appointments available.

The massage and facial are consistently top-tier, and they never cut corners on time--if it's two hours, it's truly two hours. I'm a very picky person who values quality, and Athena Spa always exceeds my expectations. Their staff is warm, professional, and genuinely kind. I've brought friends and even my boyfriend here, and every single person has had an excellent experience. Their prices are beyond reasonable and have barely changed over the years. They won't take coupons as this is their special discount price. This review is based on the services for body scrub, facial and wrap. This included the sauna. The girls downstairs are wonderful hard workers and they do absolutely an amazing job. I highly recommend the body scrub as it's an awesome experience. After some time in the sauna, they use lots of salt scrub and massage it vigorously onto your whole body with two hands. I recommend this service over a regular massage. It really wakes up your skin. After the scrub is the wrap for a few minutes and then they put you in a hot shower to wash off. You dress bottoms and use a top upper body robe for your facial. This was also a good face cleansing massage including a scrub and mask. Sign up for their offers as they do all the above for an amazing $59 deal. No coupon needed just mention combo of body scrub, wrap and facial offer and speak to Marina. I will recommend this service to all my friends and followers. My last service was the mani-pedi. I found this service to be a bit pricey for $37 but I did get some cheesecake and water while I was there and some very friendly service. This takes place in a small room with no massage chair or bubbles for feet. No scrub and really a very basic mani-pedi. The end result was nice but there are many good options in the area.
