I ask for a written estimate, he says it's going to be more if it's in writing and only accepts cash/zelle/venmo (1st red flag). But I read the great reviews so I didnt give it too much concern at the moment; I agreed verbally to proceed, arranged exact date/time so he could get the supplies he needs. Day of the job, he calls me and says the fence post is not stock and it has to be "special ordered" for an extra charge. What??? Its a standard fence post used throughout the Pacific NW and everyone is suddenly out of stock? I did a quick stock check on Home Depot's website and there were PLENTY on hand (2nd red flag). Cancelled the job right then and there and I'm glad I did. After basic research on the WA state contractor license lookup site, found this place is not only UNLICENSED, but has been cited and fined for soliciting repair work without a license before! The thing was broken (I wasn't surprised) so I told Angel how long it had been since the gutters had been cleaned (never) and he told me that he could clean them, as in that very day. And he did, and he did, surprise! a GREAT job. He even went to Lowes to replace some of the brackets. If that's even what they're called(?)
