Let me start by saying this - I don't make a habit of leaving reviews unless there's something…read moreextraordinarily good or bad about an experience. I've already used them 3 times, all positive experiences, which is what brought me here to confidently say that I'll be referring them to anyone else in the area as well. I first brought them into my home for what I saw as a relatively straightforward patch and paint after some water damage from a leaky roof. They gave me an estimate, which was lower than the other 2. I approved it and they came in the next day, identified the actual issue, removed the drywall, stopped the issue, put in another custom cut piece of drywall, sealed it up again with tape and paste, then sanded it down to make it look literally seamless with the rest of the ceiling. Anyone else would have charged at least double (based on other experiences I've had) but the communication was there from the beginning and I could tell that they weren't giving me the runaround. The transparency was surprising and greatly appreciated. That gave me the confidence to have them come back another time to replace some windows that had been cracked from rocks being kicked up from the alleyway over time, both paned glass as well as some square/cubes replaced. Bob, the owner, said he wasn't a glazer, but had a good contact that was also reasonably priced and knocked out that job in 1 day. After that, I gave him a call about some of the mason work that I was having done because at this point, I realized that Bob was trustworthy and transparent, and I felt like getting a 2nd opinion on what work had been done so far and what still needed to be done. I've even met someone else in the neighborhood who's house I visited and I was complimenting her new deck. Turns out that she had her deck rebuilt by JOB1 ! That's what brings me to this review, which I hope is enough detail to describe why JOB1 is so different than many other contractors these days. Bob and his crew are transparent, trustworthy, thorough, professional, and fair. That's a tough combination these days from what I've found, and for that, I HIGHLY recommend JOB1 for your home improvement needs, big or small !

BMF remodeled our entire home in 4 separate projects over 3 years. Bought the house new and while…read moreit was in great shape everything was dated and bathroom layouts weren't optimal. Got quotes from 4 contractors initially, with the intent to update the house over time without borrowing from the mortgage. Only 2 contractors actually quoted the projects as requested and we selected BMF because Matt understood what our goal was and offered great ways to make big improvements within budget. BMF always delivered on time and exceeded expectations. If you are looking to make updates, here are a few improvements BMF made to our home: Gutted all bathrooms and rebuilt to utilize the space more efficiently but also look amazing: walk-in curbless shower, porcelain tile floors, Pinterest-worthy wall tile layouts Refinished outdated honey oak flooring Replaced carpet with new oak flooring stained to match newly refinished oak downstairs; LVP oak floors upstairs Updated builder grade fireplace with floor to ceiling stacked stone and expanded hearth Replaced and upgraded all wood trim, casings and stairway balusters I've heard so many horror stories about contractors, especially while everyone is working from home and making improvements. BMF is the exception - there was always at least one, sometimes 4, crews working from start to finish and the owner was accessible at all times.

Do not trust their word that they will make it back out. I reached out multiple times, was told "I'll have a guy come out Friday" on 3 separate occasions, and it now I'm a zero responses from them. I have been left with a half painted window and unclean job site. I will call that my mistake but it does show the integrity of this company. I wrongfully assumed that spending the amount of money we did came with integrity and customer appreciation. Maybe that's extra. ($70k+) We hired them to put a moderate sized addition off the back of our master bedroom on a ranch house. As soon as I made the final payment I was not able to get anyone out. -we were suppose to get black windows but they installed white. When it was brought up they told me they would paint them and have yet to complete that task. - they never returned to finish cleaning up the job site and fix all the dirt the moved away for the foundation.

The more difficult (at least I thought it would be) was to regrout the countertops that were bordering the wall. They had become gross and couldn't be cleaned anymore because the dirt was like stuck underneath so he pulled them all up and regrouted in like 10 minutes. Then he noticed that inside our sink some of the group was coming up as well. He didn't even charge us extra and replaced that in like 2 minutes. Everything was done outstandingly and we will definitely be using them again.

Daniela and Raymond were the first people to understand and support my desire to both repair the house and preserve some of its original charm. I cannot believe the amount of work they were able to get done in just a few months. We originally hired them to do insulation and drywall, but we ended up letting them do the whole house. They finished the entire kitchen, bathrooms, windows, and trim in addition to drywall and insulation--they practically built this house. I cannot recommend them enough. As a woman who met with dozens of contractors, Daniela and Raymond were some of the only people who met me with patience, understanding, and enthusiasm. They never made me feel like any project was too big or any question was too dumb. In addition to the high-quality work, that felt like the most valuable part.

She was recommended by our builder and helped us to pick out tile for our new custom home. It was professionally and very nicely installed. However in one bathroom, we immediately encountered a problem. It took months of working with the tile manufacturer and distributor to come up with a solution. However, Beverly ignored us, wouldn't return my phone calls or emails, and refused to cooperate with the other parties to come up with a solution to a product that she sold us. They never stood behind the products or labor. She was very friendly and helpful until we encountered a problem. In the end we're having to remove the tile and replace it at our cost. In a new house, that's unacceptable.

While it's in and looks okay, that result had nothing whatsoever to do with Finishes as their involvement just added an unnecessary step. In the description here it states: "We also fabricate and install countertop materials such as: Cambria (Quartz), Ceasarstone (Quartz), Granite, Marble, Silestone and Corian" That is a lie, plain and simple. They have no shop, they themselves do not do any countertop work, but instead farm it out to partners just like the big box stores do. Worse, when you talk to the owner Beverly, she will look you in the eye and tell you she is a "dealer" for companies when she clearly is not. Her partner is the dealer, and she just has a little box of samples to show you. She only has one small chunk of granite installed in the store and no quartz. Beverly also claimed to have used the "same guys for over 10 years" but the "guys" she uses havem't even been in business that long. I may or may not mind people using partners, but don't lie to me about it. I came here to do business with a local firm and cut out the middleman and the risks involved with dealing with the big box stores. These guys are nothing but middlemen when it comes to countertops. What exactly am I getting for the markup they add, a box of samples? Finishes didn't even show up for the measurements. At least the big box stores have buying power to (maybe) get you a lower price, Finishes does not. If all you are is a designer or general contractor, then say so. Perhaps they actually do their own work for floors? I'll never know as I don't do business with people who lie to my face and add no value.
