We had almost ordered from a supplier selling Bertch, then my mother informed me that JCC made her cabinets (in 1980) for the house I grew up in. Although my mom doesn't live in that house anymore, a friend of mine does. While those cabinets are dated in their look from 1980 vs. today, they still look beautiful and have held up nicely. I started working with Warren, and it was a great experience. He had many ideas on how to maximize storage space. The finish and wood species choices were plentiful. Our project was significantly smaller than what Warren and JCC are used to and capable of handling, I always felt like an important and valued customer for them. We had an issue with our contractor who did a disappearing act on us, after our cabinets were ordered. JCC was helpful in recommending an a contractor who worked out wonderfully. So good that we ended up remodeling part of our kitchen (with JCC cabinets of course) and also we purchased closet organizers for our master closet. I wish every dealing with a remodeling experience went this well. :)

We hired them to finish our basement and upgrade our…read morestairwell and they did a terrible job. among other things, they framed a doorway but left 8" shims on the inside which support it, they trimmed a stairwell but it's not level nor did they finish a bottom edge, the baseboards don't meet at the corners/edges, a scuttle doorway was finished on the outside sans door knobs but it's all raw edged drywall on the inside, they hung doors but didn't provide door knobs, etc., etc. In addition, they didn't come prepared and had no idea what was going on when they got here. If I had more energy and time, I should have sued them. Instead I'm writing this post so you don't make the same mistake we did. I have had three homes in past 15 years that I have done new stone in the kitchen. I have not had…read moreany issues with refined cuts in the past. MidAmerica Granite and Cabinets has left my kitchen unpolished and with holes. We called and sent videos of damage from the installers left when removing old granite, two holes. the 4" back splash was never installed from the remnants of the stone we purchased. Most importantly the cuts on the quartz at the cabinets are horrible unrefined. Calls and videos sent tor the business owner with no reply. No effort how cheap and quick is to come patch or to refine the cuts or simply refund the fees for removal(200) since they damaged my home. No attempt to fix for good faith for their business. Beware before spending big money on counter tops for your dream kitchen.

It took a little over 4 weeks and that was only because of our stubbornness to go with a junk shower panel that Mark tried to talk us out of. okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash…read moreand accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite!
