A close friend of mine (who happened to be riding with me) recommended Dr Scott. I called his office and he squeezed me in the same day we were driving back from the mountains. He scheduled the MRI for me 10 minutes after my visit with him (conveniently located in his building), had the test read by a radiologist as well as reviewed it with a colleague hand expert the following afternoon. That evening he called me with the good (thankfully) news. I could not be more happy with his professionalism, kindness, and sense of urgency. I could not recommend this doctor more highly.....and, I can't think of any doctor who would go to these lengths in such a short amount of time!

To start, I was on hold for over 40 minutes just to book the initial visit. After the doctor requested an "immediate" MRI, the communication vanished. I was given a "direct" number to leave messages, but my multiple calls went completely unreturned. Even after I received the MRI authorization in the mail myself, the imaging center couldn't proceed because this clinic failed to provide specific instructions/specifications in the referral. I have left further messages to resolve this and have received zero response. This level of unprofessionalism makes it impossible to trust this clinic with my care. I felt validated, believed that I was in pain, and something wrong close to 3 years after surgery.. I left the office with hope that Dr. Rajaee could figure out what was going on. I told him I thought I needed surgery and a knee replacement.. He said, " you THINK you need a replacement". Several months later he said, " when you KNOW you need a replacement we will schedule surgery".. A few months later using a cane, I had my right knee replaced. A few years later the left knee was replaced. I am now 80 and I have complete movement in each knee, no pain and I am so glad we did the surgery when I was stronger and younger. This doctor did a lumbar fusion on me back in 2009 and I have spent the last 16 years dealing with the pain and fall out from his incompetence. The mistakes that he made required multiple corrective surgeries and has seriously impacted my quality of life. Every spine doctor I have seen after Sperling has stated that he botched the procedure. There was a slippage that was not corrected in the nine hour surgery. Therefore, I've suffered severe nerve compression and pain as a result. He was clearly not skilled or experienced enough to do this type of surgery and I paid a heavy price. When he couldn't handle the post op issues anymore, he referred me to another doctor to correct his mistakes. Very unprofessional doctor and office. I cannot emphasize enough how sorry I am that I used this person. I didn't get multiple opinions and ended with disabling symptoms that will last a lifetime. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly incompetent and rude. Don't make the mistake I made - do yourself a favor and go to someone else. I paid too big of a price trusting this person who didn't know what he was doing.

Friends referred us to Brookenthal. 1. FANTASTIC BEDSIDE MANNER!!!! REPEAT...SUPER FANTASTIC BEDSIDE MANNER. Hope you heard that!!!! 2. Demonstrated real compassion and empathy for the discomfort of my son (I've had doctors take the "buck up young man" approach to pain with my sons...that sucks). None of that ridiculousness here. 3. Loved the office staff...and actually you normally interact with the staff JUST AS MUST as the doctor...so that's actually important. Nothing like a bad nurse to ruin your already ruined day. NONE OF THAT HERE. 4. "Brings the cookies off the top shelf" approach to communication: Clearly communicated the situation with us, the challenges ahead, the next course of action and steps we needed to take.
