Initially, I was given a quote that was significantly lower than the premium I was ultimately offered. After spending time providing information and moving forward with the process, the final price was much higher than expected. The bigger issue was the cancellation and refund process. My payment was charged on May 23, and before the policy's effective date I contacted the agency and requested that the policy be canceled. I was told the cancellation would be processed. However, more than 20 days later, I still have not received my refund. In addition, my mortgage escrow account was charged for homeowners insurance approximately 10 days after I had already canceled the policy. Despite multiple calls and follow-ups, I am still waiting for the refund and a clear explanation of what happened. The staff was polite when I spoke with them, but the overall experience has been disappointing due to the inaccurate quote, delays in processing the cancellation, lack of proactive communication, and the ongoing refund issue. Customers should be able to trust that cancellations and refunds will be handled promptly and accurately. I hope this agency improves its communication, billing practices, and customer service so that others do not have a similar experience.

Direct Auto Insurance (Integon Insurance) I have been with…read morethem for many years. I was hit by an Uninsured, Unlicensed Motorist with fictitious tags, and several pending and outstanding warrants and charges (traffic violations) against him. He hit my small car with a jeep and smashed it up; I spanned around 360. It's undrivable and currently in storage collecting fees. I'm doing this review because I have been paying for Uninsured Motorist Coverage for such a time as this. Direct Auto (Integon Insurance) is delaying in paying for my car to be repaired or replaced. The officer said the other driver should not have even been driving. I am really hurt and disappointed that my insurance company that is supposed to have me covered, does not. I thought I was going to die in that crash. That's how bad it was. My car was just paid off, now it's sitting in a junk yard, smashed up and undrivable. I don't know what else to do. I have contacted the General Insurance Co. I have an attorney working with me, but they say the insurance workers are rude and unprofessional. I don't know what else to say about Direct Auto Insurance or whatever name they are going by now, except BEWARE. We pay so much for insurance to have peace of mind, for if something like this happens, we are covered and protected. But instead, we are left alone, almost in tears, trying to figure things out for ourselves. No one ask to be in this situation, but here we are. Hopefully, Direct Auto (Integon) will reconsider and review the information sent to them; and take care of their own. Do not be deceived by the low premiums when you sign up- this State Farm Agent engages in classic…read morebait-and-switch. They charged me reasonably the first year and then switched my insurance policy to be insured in Illinois (?) and then reinsured it in North Carolina, and took away my good driver discount (despite a perfect record), increasing my premium by over 40%. Staff are polite but can't give me a single reason why my good driver status has been revoked or why my policy was "reassessed" as high risk. I'll be getting my insurance elsewhere from now on... perhaps Yelp can help me find a company who won't brazenly try to rip me off.

My premium went up by $130 (for only 6 months), which is 59%!!! That is outrageous. I called them, thinking it had to be an error. The only explanation they could give me was that my Drive Safe & Save discount no longer applies. Sorry, but that discount was not worth more than 5%, so that does NOT explain the other 55%! Nothing else has changed at all - no accidents, tickets, increased driving. NOTHING. Needless to say, I will be looking around for a new insurance company. I am very disappointed in how I was treated by Marty Lindsey's office.
